FIRST NAME: Giovenzio
LAST NAME: Varone
AGE: 24 {Oct. 3rd 1923}
GENDER: Male
RANKING: The Boss/Capo Famiglia/ The Don
BIRTHPLACE: Bordonaro, Sicily- moved to Port Gioia Tauro, Italy in 1933 at the age of 10.
LANGUAGE(S): Italian, English, French, Greek, Russian
PERSONALITY: Giovenzio is, well, creepy. He’s quiet to the point it’s scary, and whenever he talks in his chillingly raspy voice, a single word is enough to send shivers down a persons spine. He seems to leak an aura of death wherever he may go. Giovenzio likes to be alone, seated in his desk and creating trinkets and such from scraps. Yet beneath this gossamer layer, Giovenzio has a complex personality, capable of both benevolence and utter savagery. Which side of him you see depends largely upon whose ‘side’ you fight upon. In one sense, Giovenzio is freakishly strong, fearless, and an excellent instinctual user of combat. His sense of loyalty to his Famiglia, and his mercy to swiftly killing Alarico after brutalizing his spine, show a benevolent and mildly compassionate side of the Boss. On the other hand, Giovenzio is also fierce, quick-tempered and, capable of great cruelty, as evidenced by his brutal killings of his former Underboss Manlio, and his traitorous lover, Alarico. Cold and calculating, Giovenzio is highly intelligent and witty, with a razor sharp mind. He’s typically grumpy and surly, but does have his soft spots. Do not get on his bad side lest you wish to be partial to a brutal thrashing and savagely relentless beating. Despite this, he is fiercely loyal and protective of those he calls his own. If he is in a good mood, he can exclude a mischievous attitude and a crass, dark humor. He has an intense hatred for weaklings, liars, cowards and fools. A concussive force on a battlefield, this man’s main strengths lie in his combat skill and highly analytical mind. He is highly capable of working with others and leading a group given his ranking, and loathes being stuck behind his desk instead of working with his men. This man is crafty, and skillful in staying alive. He’s made it his business to know this wharf inside and out, and can match the best of them in a fight. His genius level intelligence and cunning- paired with honed and carefully crafted street skills, makes him both a political and intellectual threat. His sadistic instances of unneeded brutality, paired with his violent temperament and general arrogance often have others wary and unwilling to approach him. His lack of proper emotional upbringing often leads him to offend and insult others both knowing, and unknowingly. He struggles with trusting others wholeheartedly and will often keep secrets if he thinks it will keep the family in peace of mind.
APPEARANCE: Giovenzio has pale skin and slicked dark hair trimmed short on the sides. His dark, pitch eyes are the color of bitter coffee. He has a sharp jawline and lean, muscular build, many scars glinting like pink glass upon alabaster skin. He has two tattoos; one of a raven on his right forearm and an intricate design of a Celtic knot spanning over his back, with Arthurian legends woven in the ribbon of the knots themselves. Giovenzio wears simple, yet elegant dark clothing consisting of black or charcoal trousers, black or dark red shirts and a long coat paired with a tie and fedora style hat. He’s often seen carrying a black cane topped with a silver raven head.
WEAPON (if any): His cane, a pocket pistol, several knives hidden all over his body. Knowledge of military infantry weaponry.
KNOWN COMBAT STYLES: Boxing, ‘street fighting’, Military training, aikido. Currently learning Muay Thai.
OTHER SKILLS: Pickpocketing, lock picking, carpentry, finances, business.
WEAKNESSES: Suffers from PTSD due to the war, was nearly crippled in his left knee which led to him being honourably discharged- he can still walk but there is a reason the cane is needed.
FEARS: Thunderstorms, spiders, to be unable to walk, his family being hurt/killed.
CRUSH: None
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Bisexual
LOVER: Formerly Alarico
PARTNER: None
CHILDREN: None
KIN: Father// Ezio Varone//Deceased: Brother // Francisco Varone// Deceased: Mother // Helena Varone-Chronis //Assumed to be deceased.
BRIEF HISTORY: Born in 1923, and growing up with only his mother, elder Brother and one of his fathers Caporegime with a few Made Men, Giovenzio did not have the most normal of childhoods. When the war grew, and movement to his fathers territory in Italy was unavoidable, his mother- who loathed what her husband did- initially refused, and stayed in Sicily. So he then spent the rest of his life at his fathers side, as his 27 year old brother, Francisco was killed by a hitman in 1933. In October 1940 he eagerly enlisted into the army at the age of 17, pretending to be 18, and was sent to Greece. After the German aided invasion in May of 1941, Giovenzio was shipped to aid in the defense of Italian occupied France, where he was gravely wounded after saving a fellow soldier from a mine. The damage to his leg was extensive enough that Giovenzio was honourably discharged and sent back to Italy. He then took up the mantle of boss at the age of 21, after his father died of lung and liver cancer. His mother is thought to have been killed in the bombings of Sicily. He discovered his lover, Alarico was a Nazi Extremist and killed him with his own hands. He then killed his fathers Underboss, Manlio who had been the one who hired the hitman to kill Francisco.
