All the buildings are skyscrapers and it is hard to see the mountain anymore.
-
Boots press into the dirt as a shy girl makes her way to class. She “sees” cars zipping by and doesn’t seem to mind that the sidewalk is so close despite her 30 story skyscraper she left, missing the large hum of the many insect hives already. There were too many people here now, far too many as they bustled in and out of the tall buildings and from other lands. She was highly uncomfortable as she attempted to pull her hood over her face and navigate by the sounds. She finally made her way to the academy building, entering the first floor and tapping on the up button of the elevator. The class she was supposed to go to was on the sixteenth floor. This was going to be horrible, especially since she entered the elevator alone then several other students crowded into the elevator. She wouldn’t recognize any of their voices, none of them were kids she had heard before meaning they were new here. One of them would notice her appearance, she knew one just would as they weren’t of her clan and they won’t accept her.
“Hey creep!” She had called in in her mind as a male’s voice assaulted her ears then a firm hand gripped her shoulder. “I said, hey creep! Don’t you know how to speak?!”
RyÅ« tried to ignore him but her head was forced as he grabbed her chin, this undid the latch on mouth, revealing the bone and muscle beneath. The elevator all backed away from it and her insects wanted to come out to fight but she whispered, “Settle down… They are just ‘ools…” The insects would retreat, for now, her closing the latch and making sure it was firm this time.
“Freak!” The boy started chanting as the others seemed to follow along.
RyÅ« tried to ignore them and small groups of them got off on each floor. When they were at about the tenth floor, the annoying boy left and she could hear only a handful left. She felt a hand and jumped a bit as a hissed whisper entered her ear, “Don’t let them underestimate you…”
The form from the sound made her think it was someone her age, yet it urked her a bit. She gave them a nod and as they got up to the floor, he left with her and followed her to class. She ended up sitting in the back corner and he stalked her to sit next to her. She scooted her chair far into the corner and he stayed still. They were the first in class, even the teacher hadn’t come in yet but he was there shortly after. She heard him setting up and just stayed put as she heard the writing on the chalk board and the placing of books. -
Muri rushed out of the door, backpack strapped to her back and tennis shoes pounding against the side-walk. She was well aware of the large stretch of distance between her home and the Academy, and didn’t want to risk being late. It would be her first time going to official classes to become a genin instead of simply getting home-schooled lessons from her clan. The enthusiasm and anxious excitement of her first day of class could easily be seen from a distance by the wide grin plastered across her face. Running at a quick pace somewhere between a sprint and a jog, she made a beeline for the Academy taking the main roads. A middle-aged old man slammed the horn of his steering wheel and rolled down his car window to curse at the adolescent brat as Muri darted out in front of his car and blatantly jay-walked across the road just as the traffic-light turned green. Her response was to give the man a wave as he started up his car and drove off, completely unfazed by any of his insults. After managing to shove and bump her way though a group of pedestrians moving too slowly for her, Muri arrived at the entrance to the Academy.
Just as she entered the foyer, the elevator became crowded with students who promptly shut the sliding metal doors before Muri could get on. “Errghh, friggin’ barf’-lickers,” she muttered as the student closest to the door didn’t even attempt to keep the door open for her. Â The girl frowned, remembering that her class would take place on the sixteenth floor. Â Realizing that the elevator would take forever, the young student promptly located the nearest flight of stairs and putting on a burst of speed began to rush up the sixteen flights of stairs to her class, hoping she wouldn’t be too late. Â By the time she finally made it into the classroom, she was noticeably out of breath and a bit sweaty but still had a grin on her face. “Yo! I made it, teach!” The greeting was proclaimed confidently as Muri strode into the door and headed for the seat closest to the window.

-Haruso was bent over with his right knee placed on the grave where a young boy was buried but no one ever came to visit this marker not that Haruso ever heard of this boy either but it seemed odd that all the other stones had marking of age and rank but all this one had was name. He rubbed away away the moss and the name Obito was shown and an old leaf headband was laid across the ground but this one wasnt a normal headband it was with a mask that covered most of the face of the user. He heard a bell toll and knew he had about two hours before his class started. He was up earlier then most ninja that would be in class today so he pulled up his phone and contacted first his gf leaving her a “<3″ before shooting a text a friend in the village hidden in the sand who would be challenging for Chunin today”Hey bro good luck and Me and my family will be there to visit you next month so have your father get the special vapors we like before we challenge each other, Oh btw I unlocked my DouJutsu so will be on equal terms this time”. He closed his phone and placed two gold coins on the stone which was a custom he once heard about where money could pay for safe passage. He knew it was probably to late but he had to much money to ever spend so it didn’t bother him though he hoped someone would see the gesture one day and bring them happiness. He then wiped dirt away and saw a brown box that was the same color as the dirt. He pulled the lid off and saw rolls and rolls of twenty dollor bills and a couple scrolls that he had located from his families home. He then added another roll and a spare cellphone and a spare belt of kunai so he was prepared. He heard the bell stating he had one hour so he began to walk away from the grave coming out from the dark hollow a woman gave him a warm smile before she began to stock her shelves with fresh apples and assorted fruit for people to purchase. He handed her a ten and grabbed an apple”Keep the change”, He walked away and slowly ate it seeing the huge building that was the new academy. His fathers office was right next door a huge skyscraper that argued with the clouds above and his father was at the very top.
Haruso had a half hour left by the time he made it across town and reached the front door as he walked in the people within the lobby saw the symbol on his shoulder and they all went statue as they slowly calmed down realizing he was simply a student. He turned to the male closest to him who was working a desk gave a look like he was higher then Haruso. He quickly ran through Tiger, Dragon, Tiger. He then pulled his shades down and looked at the male and his eyes were bright red and a single tomoe was hooked from the center. The man would snap back with a shocked look to see that red eye still existing in this new erra, He pushed his shades back and got into an elevator and saw people starting to head towards him but when they saw him after his display they backed up and let him go up alone. He reached the six floor and got a wave from his gf as she headed to a diffrent room in the building for women who were going to be clan heads and would not go out on the normal missions of the other ninja of the leaf. He pushed the door open and pulled out his tablet and read faces looking to each of them before putting it back away and sat at the back of the room on the opposite side from the odd bug girl though he was getting use to the bugs and then he noticed the pale boy and he was not listed on the tablet so he pulled his shades down and his Sharingan read the chakra of the boy”Could you explain what your doing in this class dude”. He made sure to speak loud enough to get the teachers attention who would turn and wait for the answer”. He deactivated his Sharingan before it would stress his chakra reserves and he waited.-

Ryū sat silently where she was and listened as two others joined the class seemingly early still. She wanted to scoot further away but she was already against the wall, so she instead folded her arms and put her head down on the desk. She heard the one large male questioning the boy beside her. She thought maybe it would make him move away from her or even out entirely. She would love to be alone in her corner. She just took deep breaths and listened.
The teacher had given a slight nod to the noisy girl then looked at the larger student questioning the one boy. He spoke out, “He is a part of the roster, don’t give him hell for it.” He showed that he kept his roster on paper, an old fashioned teacher. He then said, “For you to read and question him like that… Uchiha or Jentokasai?” The teacher leaned his back against the chalk board and said, “I am professor Haruno.” He decided he’d get an answer if he gave one first.
The boy took a deep breath, about to answer but the teacher covered his ass too quickly. He left out a sigh and tried to remember what his current name was as he leaned to RyÅ« and whispered in that hissing voice, “Hello, my name is Moriachoru… What is your name?”
RyÅ« moved her head to the side to appear to be looking away from him and she whispered, “RyÅ«… Why do you care?”
The boy backed off a little and noticed that she wouldn’t be very open and placed his elbows on the table and folded his hands under his chin. RyÅ« continued to attempt to ignore everyone but the buzzing of the insects in her ears, them wanting to defend her but her trying to stay calm so they don’t think something is wrong. A few of the insects came out from the eye tubes, gently flipping the glass so they could lift some of her hair away from her face. She wished she could smile at them but the lack of lips made it very hard to do so, so her eyebrows did it for her by relaxing fully. They started to groom her and her face, if anyone could see it by this time, was a bright red from them doing so. -
Muri finished unpacking her books and school supplies at her desk and then sat around bored, twirling her pencil expertly on-top of her hand and then in between each of her slender fingers as she waited for the start of class. She watched a dark-haired boy walk in wearing sunglasses in broad daylight and gave a bored sigh. He didn’t have a dog or a stick, so blindness was likely out of the question. Maybe he had deformed eyes, like cataracts or something. She amused herself with the visual image of the kid having eyes perpetually pointed in different directions and snickered to herself before growing bored again and looking for some other source of entertainment. The teacher was writing some stuff up on the board so she flipped open a page of her notebook and began to copy the writing to the best of her ability in a scratchy scrawl of Morse Code, resembling dots and slashes. If she got really bored, Muri would start transcribing the notes into other alphabets she knew just for practice.
Then of course, Mr. Sunglasses called out and get shut down by the class teacher whose name turned out to be Mr Haruno. “Yeah, shaddup ya divvy,” Muri commented off-hand at a normal speaking volume when the teacher criticized the newcomer for calling out the kid sitting near the back of the class. Who the HELL did he think he was saying who was or was not allowed in the class, anyway? ” She shot a look at the student again and frowned slightly as the girl he was trying to talk to suddenly sprouted bugs all over her face. The look of disgust flickering upon her face was impossible to hide. Yeah, she didn’t care too much about what was fashionable and what was hip or pretty or all that, but those bugs were just plain disgusting. Hoping that she wouldn’t have to spend much time face to face with the Aburame, Muri took out her phone and began to fiddle around to choose just the right ringtone, not minding if the other students could hear the noise. There were a few options, but she ended up settling on the tune to “Angry Birds” for all calls from her clan members. After a little bit of thought, her older sister received a much hipper ringtone. Satisfied, Muri clicked her phone to silent and leaned back on her chair as she waited for the beginning of class.

-Haruso turned towards the teacher “My name is Haruso Jentokasai”, His eyes went back to the pale boy and he raised his brow as he smirked and sat down as he reached in his backpack and pulled out his tablet and began to look up the bingo books of the past and he got a hit. This guy looked like this male but not old enough which made him wonder a few things but he would confront this later. He then turned and began to write down what was on the board as he had a pencil spin on its tip on the desk with his other hand. He would tap it every few seconds to keep it spinning and it would never stop till the tip was worn away and it would no longer spin. He saw and waited for more instructions to be put up on the board. He felt his cell go off and since it was two vibrates he knew it was his gf who was probably bored in her class with all the other female heads.
Haruso would rather be learning with his elders in some of the more lethal arts then sitting at a desk as only a member of his clan could teach him to master his newly acquired eyes. He wanted to master everything there was to know before he left the village, as classes went on he saw the doors of the Hokage open and saw the male and everyone in the room would hear him crack the pencil into multiple pieces just from the sight of him. He reached into his bag and got another pencil and his eyes seemed to burn with his hatred but with his sunglasses no one would notice, They didnt go Sharingan but damn close, he knew he was stronger then that bastard and because of it he could never follow such a man as there master even if there life depended on it. He turned back to the teacher as he waited to learn something useable but nothing seemed to sink in today.-

Mr. Haruno wrote and explained what it means to be a shinobi and the three different classifications of jutsu and what goes into it. He even spat off a fire ball just to show what could be done. He stopped writing in the middle of explaining what was going to be taught in the majority of the course then heard the pencil snap. He looked into the back and said, “Is there a problem?” He waited for a response but wrote on the board in a little box about a study abroad program that sends students lucky enough to get in to different lands to learn what they have to teach.
RyÅ« was writing things down while passing old fashioned notes back and forth with the guy beside her. The messages ended up reading: “Why are you so shy?” “Why shouldn’t I be?” “Because you are human.” “I am a freak, ask those kids.” “You aren’t a freak, you’re like me.” “No I am not, you are normal and have all of your face.” “How are you sure?” “I can see it.” “You know what I mean.” “That you’re normal? You just look anemic.” “You don’t think I am a freak?” “No.” “Then you aren’t.” “That makes no sense.” “Yeah it does.”
She was just about to write a message back when the pencil snap happened. She froze up for a moment but the professor seemed calm so she wrote the box onto her notes then sent a reply. “No it doesn’t.”
He looked at the note and smirked, he wrote back, “I’ll join it if you do.” He slid the paper back to her.
She looked at it and her face turned red, her insects swarming to hide her face by crawling out. They made sure the blush wasn’t seen, only making him chuckle quietly. -
Muri kept her eyes on the board and wrote down notes on the three branches of jutsu, wondering which one she should focus on. Ninjutsu seemed the most interesting, but taijutsu was neat too. Curiously, the young delinquent pulled out her phone and sent a text, “Tai, nin or genjutsu? Which is the best?” The message wooshed off to her sister, and Muri put the phone back in her pocket to await the response and focused her attention back on the class. The loud noise of a pencil snapping resounded throughout the classroom courtesy of Haruso, also known as Mr. Sunglasses-indoors. The dark tint to the shades might have made him clumsy, that or he deep seated anger issues. Muri gave Haruso a faintly annoyed look before returning to her phone and quickly playing a game on her phone, moving her little virtual troops one space closer to the goal. With her turn over, Muri then looked back at the class to see if there was anything she missed.
Apparently there was a box she needed to put her name in? The girl shrugged to herself and resolved to enter herself in as she heard Mr. Haruno drone on about the rich opportunities they would have. Traveling and visiting other lands seemed pretty cool, and what other chance would she have to be a tourist?
-
-Haruso pulled out his phone taking a picture of the study abroad program and shooting the pic to both his parents knowing it would be at least an hour before he got a reply. He took off his glasses and sat them down along with his headset so he could hear better, they would all see his grey eyes and unless you looked closely you wouldn’t see his pupil. He would turn back to the teacher and he dared him to say something. His face turned towards the window once again and luckily the Hokage was no longer in sight. He turned back and began to copy the notes hoping that it will be useful in the long run. He knew the difference between the three types of Jutsu which made this boring to listen to once again. He turned to the pale boy and noticed they were passing notes and wondered weather or not they would be heading abroad also.
He leaned back in his seat restless, he wanted to go out and train his body before he raised his hand “why is it we haven’t had a real Hokage since Naruto-San”. He turned to his fellow class mates before he swiped his screen and the screen 0n the wall would come to life with Naruto of the Leaf and Gaara of the Sand shaking hands while the other three Kages stood behind them in the shot. This was when peace was sealed and we haven’t had a real battle between the villages since”. He waited for the teacher to answer before he turned back and spoke one more time”And your great great great relative Sukura was there at the final war which much bring you with great pride and great sadness to see what we have become, We all that stand here are the future, but what is the point to train as a shinobi when we are no longer needed, which is exactly the words the Hokage said”. He could no longer sit with his mouth shut, he was feeling the anger build up since seeing the man, and if he ever hoped to be a warrior of the leaf then he needed answers or he would leave”.-
-
The teacher turned and was going to initially ask a question but to be asked was a better thing to him. He heard the question and said, “Peace is why…” He looked at the swipe and smiled a bit at it then looked back to Haruso. He looked down and said, “I have pride in her… in them… and at one time, pride in our Hokage but that was lost nearly as soon as it was gained. Our current… He trained so damn hard to get where he is and he let it go to waste. Everyone is waiting for his fall but for now we have to suffer being the butt of the other land’s jokes until the elders get their asses into gear…” He was obviously steamed about the situation and took a deep breath. Then he answered the other question as a continuation, “But peace can’t last forever… Everything has a beginning… and everything has an end… This is something we all must come to terms with as ninja as taking this path means we could cause our own ends…” An entire third of the class got up and left after that. Mr Haruno sat himself down behind the desk and placed a hand on his head. He took another deep breath and stood back up and put his fist through the chalkboard and the wall. The teacher on the other side peeked through.
RyÅ« wished she could have smiled, only blushing at the on goings of the class. She made her kikaichu go in as she whispered, “‘Hat ‘usses…” She wanted to chuckle but then wrote back to the boy beside her, “It’s on. Also, stop flirting.”
He looked at the note and had heard her whisper. He was absolutely proud in the research that was done and eyed up Haruso. He was interested in knowing what he knew. As he was sitting there, a snake traveled down his leg and snatched a few of the still out kikaichu safely in its mouth and crawled into a vent. The boy then wrote back to her, “When was I flirting?”
When she read the note, her face was a bright red to the point she hid her head on the desk again. -
Muri blinked as the classroom’s screen wall flickered to life displaying the old Kages forming a peace treaty between the five great nations. She had seen their pictures in a history textbook before, but the names and faces of long dead shinobi had never stuck in her brain. It was hard to imagine a time without peace, when nations fought bitterly to the death over territory disputes, secret techniques and seemingly almost any excuse. While Muri certainly wasn’t going to criticize the lax in power and vigilance of Konoha since their loose standards were partially what allowed her to attend class here, the rumors about the current Hokage were unflattering to say the least. The fact that he hadn’t been assassinated really proved that peace had finally spread across the land. As for Haruso, he certainly was fiery and loud. “Geez, and my folks said I had a ‘tude,” she muttered under her breath as he blatantly challenged the teacher as to why he should care about training at all. Back home, the response would have been swift and painful but Mr. Haruno actually seemed to be of a like mind. She noted to herself that the lazy, indolent behavior of the Hokage was a sore subject among the local villagers. Â The majority of the class just up and left the academy, seemingly discouraged by the thought of becoming a shinobi. Muri merely sighed and rested an elbow on the table, supporting her chin as she waited for the hustle and bustle to settle down. If she left now, it’d all be a waste of the time, money and effort it took to make her attendance at the academy possible.
To her disappointment, the bug-freak stayed behind as well. It seemed she had taken up flirting and passing what had to be little love notes back and forth. Muri rolled her eyes and turned her attention to her phone, missing the snake snatching up kikaichu. Drat, when is physical training? Muri thought to herself as she began to get a little stir-crazy from sitting down for so long. The sun was shining and the sky was a deep cerulean blue with cottony white clouds. It was perfect weather and a shame that she had to spend her time indoors.

-Haruso nodded at the teacher seeing his emotions gave him some essence of pride for there teacher but it still wasn’t enough there needed to be more people with like minded. He watched as those of the class rose to there feet and left for the door his teeth ground together before he spoke”disgraceful”. He heard the punch in the wall and he wished the girl by the window had joined them but he turned back to the teacher and sat down with his fingers crossed. His eyes seemed to become crimson and everyone would now be aware of this as his emotions activated his Kekkei Genkai”I will remove all the forces that create such weakness in are world, this is the only way to bring back the power that we once knew that made us the most feared village in all the lands”. He blinked and his eyes became gray once again as he waited to see what would happen now.-
-
It has begun….
Mr Haruno stood up and smiled at them and said, “Fuck the curriculum… I am so going to get fired but let’s do this old school…” He looked around the remainder of the class and said, “Haruso… pick someone…” He took the eraser and erased the board except for the box. He then wrote signs on the board of the Dog, Boar, and Ram signs then drew beneath them how to do them and arrows from first to last. Then he did something odd, signing the hands swiftly as he did them himself and his form poofed into being that of his great relative. He smirked and said, “Get ready to learn…” Some of the class was frightened by this and walked out, the rest tried to practice the signs or figure out what it was or what just happened.
RyÅ« stopped writing back to him and saw what was going on and she was excited. She hoped all of them had to pair up. Her kikaichu came out and settled on the desk, trying to figure out what was going on. The boy was smirking and hoping he’d get picked. RyÅ« started practicing the signs in order at her desk. She was trying to commit it to memory and move faster each time but she’d slow again when she’d start tripping over her own fingers and try again. The boy next to her started doing the same as if he was trying to learn.
-
”YEA! Now this is more like it!” Muri exclaimed with excitement, springing energetically out of her seat as the class actually seemed to be getting somewhere. So what if the annoying figjam on the other side of the classroom decided to randomly spout dumb crap? And maybe their teacher was a bit of a tranny, but if it got him excited enough to start teaching cool techniques then bully for him. Real, legitimate ninja lessons were now happening, and it seemed as though her great big trip wouldn’t end up as a wasted effort after all.To her delight, Muri recognized the signs written on the board from her home-schooling with her clan. Maybe class wouldn’t be terrible after all? She quickly practiced a few of the signs, running through them first slowly to make sure her form was impeccable before moving through the Dog, Boar and Ram hand signs quickly after her fingers were warmed up. A faint glimmer of pride could be seen in her eyes, at least THIS she wasn’t screwing up. She wondered what they’d be learning next, and hoped it would be some simple ninjutsu and not genjutsu. Muri had never fully grasped the concept from her family members and the book she had leafed through, and dreaded having to attempt it.
