Chapter Five: Retribution

“Don’t worry, he can’t hear you. Not with that panel closed. They soundproofed the rooms. And yes, it is. That was a stronger connection last time, however. Unfortunately, as Ozymandias grows stronger, I must grow weaker.” Odysseus looks out the nearby portal to space. “Ozymandias is about to make his next move.”

As he says this, the cell rocks, and begins spinning slightly. “Frak. They’re transferring us.” The OGA ship fires a torpedo at the weakened shields, creating a momentary breach. Faye’s holding cell is then fired through the breach before it closes, and, after tumbling through space, the cell is caught by the larger OGA hoplite.

Faye shakes her head and looks at him, “I don’t know… Why did you choose me over the rest of the team? I mean just look at me! I just got captured and I have no idea how!”

*Pandora flapped into a cabinet and jammed herself in it, twitching with the effort of keeping the murder at bey inside her*”Aw come on dear, this doesn’t need to be painful”, the unsettling voice ecoed in her head.

Andaluza cracks down but strengthens the forcefield even more. Hurry up Apollo…

Apollo opened the ship door and yanked the gunslinger out of the cockpit. “You know, normally we take out the power core after we take out the owner. But you know, you’re dishonorable.” Apollo grabbed the gunslinger’s face and jolted thousands of amps through his eyes, blinding him, before throwing him across the hallway to Andaluza. “I’m ok taking you dead or alive.” Apollo ran up to the gunslinger again, aiming another shot.

Andaluza lifted up the gunslinger where he stood. “We’re not letting YOU escape without a fight. Thanks to Pandora, your hole is gone. Now GET IN THE CAPSULE!” Andaluza threw the gunslinger into a capsule, a few cracking noises heard from his other arm. He then sealed the door and began to extract the air out of the vent.

*Padnora breathed in and out slowly gaining control again, she burst out of the cabinet and crashed through metal walls blindly, searching for Faye*

Apollo started restraining Pandora. “Lay off, we can’t find her! She’s long gone in the Hoplite. I want you to lock all the ships so that the gunslinger can’t get away. He tried to use the cockpit but I got him out. Go do that while Andaluza and I hold him here.”

Faye is spun around a few times in the room, tumbling around hitting her head a few more times as she is absorbed into the new ship… She makes sure to hold her head this time, taking many hits all around her body…

Andaluza pointed to the broken shield wires. “Actually, let’s fix that first. You watch the captive gunslinger, I’ll fix the wires.” Andaluza began tinkering with the wires as the shield power slowly rose steadily to 10% and above.

*Pandora thrashed free of Apollo’s grasp*”f-fine”, she said before doing as he asked.

The Gunslinger remains blinded in the pod, and hears them extracting the atmosphere. He stands up, fumbling in his coat and pulling out some spectacles and a flask. He puts on the spectacles, and the tips suddenly release a 100 small needles into the side of his face, uploading into miniature synaptic ports. The spectacles glow, and he is able to see the basic thermal and infrared outlines of his surroundings. He then pulls out the flask, and presses a dial on the side of it. Placing it at the door of the pod, he backs away and conceals himself, as it ticks and counts down.

The OGA hoplite sepearates in half, and the half containing Faye pulls away, heading for Ozymandias’ new personal ship, the OGA Vengeance. Odysseus, now seemingly sitting upside down in Faye’s vision after their tumble between ships, coughs and rights himself. “I chose you, because of many reasons. The ones I’ll tell you now is that you, as misguided as it might be, have conviction. You also have some of the strongest morals. While both of these might have been misdirected, you have the potential to become a hero. And, surprisingly, you are the member of our group least like Ozymandias and the OGA. And I’d hate to think that I screwed you up. Every other member of the Keepers thrives off of the same thing as Ozymandias: revenge. It just so happens that one side is good and the other is bad. Coincidence. But you… You can teach them something new. Forgiveness. Because if we don’t learn to forgive. If we don’t learn to forgive, then this war won’t ever end.”

Faye takes a few breaths as she listens, holding her head with her eyes closed. She nods a few times, making sure to hear everything he said… As much as she didn’t want to admit it… It was true. Jack was fed off of vengeance for sure… Apollo wanted the same as Jack. Andaluza outright left them to avenge his past. Katherine, Rose, and Geralt all three wanted to have them destroyed because of their experimentation… Faye though… she was never against the OGA for the longest time… Because she believed in order and the due processes of law… Even now, she didn’t want the OGA gone… Like her, many of them are misguided by Ozymandias. She rises up slowly after her thoughts, looking at Odysseus. “So that’s what I need to do? Help them all learn to forgive eachother?”
