Chapter Five: Retribution

<i>Jack stared confusedly up at the screen.</i>
“Ody, what’s going on…?” He said, turning an eye to Faye.

“I has no idea what dis guy is doing”, Pandora muttered staring at Ozy.

Ozymandias steps onto the pad. “Mr. and Mrs. Faye! Your daughter says that she will be home soon! She’ll cook you up something nice!” Ozymandias looks at the screen, and laughs. “I dont think they can hear me! As I said, Omega Radiation, tricky stuff! Life force! And let’s see…” Ozymandias steps onto an adjacent pad. “I think that I’ll cook them up nice instead. You see, I have Kubrite running through my veins! And that means, I can absorb the stuff! Eat it up! I am become Death! Destroyer of Worlds! I AM OZYMANDIAS! KING OF KINGS!” Ozymandias stares at the screen. “And Faye, I think I’ll start with your world.” Ozymandias presses a button nearby, and Faye’s parents let out an unearthly scream as he absorbs their life force. Ozymandias’ eyes glow infinitely redder and redder, and his arms shake. He appears to be almost on fire, and laughs at the screen. “I promised you a new world, Faye! I never said you would be a part of it! So look upon my works, ye mighty… and despair. I will fight the Gods for you, for all of you. Odysseus is dead. He was always my puppet, you fools, mortals dealing in immortal things.” The feed cuts out.

Faye looks at the faces of her parents, her head hurting not only from her power now, but the thought of them being safe until now… She could have saved them…
She collapses onto her knees, looking down at the ground, “Ozymandias…you traitorous…you…” She growls her rage turning into tears. “Fuck it… They’re gone…we’re about to die…all because of your pointless ass quest to stop them…”

Apollo throws Harvin directly into the ground, setting him on fire. “How about you die already?!”

Harvin punches Apollo into the air. “I am perfect!” He chased after Apollo interceptor-style into the upper atmosphere, aiming fire and osmium shards at him. “Midzog is dead! But you aren’t yet!”

Jack hugged Faye, shielding her from seeing anymore of her parents, trying to comfort her.
“You’re a fucking monster.” He whispered.
“Everyone…” <i>He said, staring at the group.
</i>”This is the end, I think.” He croaked, his eyes watering. “I couldn’t have been more prouder of all of you. Each and every one of you, are…my friends.”

A beeping message appears across the screen of static. ‘Do you need assistance? [Y] or [N].

“I’m sorry it had to end this way.” He whispered.
“I didn’t want it to. I should have known. I’m sorry for everything. The way I act. It’s just to shield myself…I truly care about each of you, and I’m s-sorry…I’m just sorry…” He looked up at the message, hesitantly pressing YES to the question, confused.

Ozymandias steps off the pad, slumps into the chair, and weeps. “Too much, SAL?” ‘I think so, sir. The Council will have questions.’ “Not even the Council can stop us now, my friend.” Ozymandias retrieves the White Tulip tarot card from his suit, and holds it to his heart. “Odysseus is struggling. He refuses to stay QUIET!” Ozymandias clutches his head.

Apollo’s eyes manually flash red before returning to their normal color. “This…ends…NOW!!!” Apollo flew towards Harvin, the atmosphere curving infront of him, creating a loud popping noise and slamming Harvin into Midzog’s body, trapping him in his (Midzog) time-bomb suit.

“DONT SAY THAT!”, Pandora said furious.”Alright i can burn a hold out!”, she said Morphing into a phoenix.

The group are beamed into a strange room, with a slight humming. They are surrounded by a white light. A soft voice whispers through the overhead, “Welcome aboard.”

Jack realized the help was probably another cruel joke. He pulled out the card Rose gave to him, handing it back to her.
“This is the end…” He said, watching it countdown to 30 seconds. He bowed his head, kneeling on the ground, holding onto Faye, Rose and Andaluza.
“I’m so sorry.”

The smoke cleared and Harvin screamed from Midzog’s suit. “NO! NO! IT CANNOT END THIS WAY! NO-” Harvin passes out, screaming. This is the last he will ever see of this universe.
Andaluza held his hands to Apollo. “What do we do now?”
