Chapter Four: Fork In The Road

“We’re having a private talk. T-T-Y-L.” Jack turned off his comms once again, annoyed.

“So, uh, about earlier. I appreciate your words of kindness.” He said awkwardly, kicking at the sand a bit as he walked.

Rose turned off her comm as well and shook her head, “Its alright Mr. Human, I felt honored you would be so honest with me,”

Malice looked at him “Uh..I think its better if you are to just focus on the mission right now”

“Thank you, Ms. Ascendii. I guess I felt like I could actually talk to you, since your experiences with experiments are similar to mine. I know most of our team are OGA experiments, as that’s why I hired them, including you, but you were the one that reached out. And I appreciate that.” He smiled.

Faye nods a few times, “As much as I hate to admit it, I’ll have to agree with the traitor and or Daomer lady…”

Rose blushed a bit, embarrassed, “No, its uh, nothing really! I’m always glad to help!”

“Cool.” Jack chuckled.
“We should be getting there in around five minutes, judging by the distance.” He said, looking at the giant dome. Jack thought of what Rose said, how she didn’t think Jack was bad. If only she knew the things Jack had done in the past. Then she might think differently.

Apollo tapped into Rose’s comms. “Hey, can you get a scan of the material the dome is made of? If it’s osmium, then Pandora and Andaluza can rip it apart.”

“Apollo, we’re having a moment here.” He said.

When they were close enough to fully notice the size of the dome, Rose felt puzzled. They honestly did not try to hide it, not even in the slightest. But then again… “I don’t think so, the material seems more dense and a lot darker in color. We need to find out if they have surveillance around. Also how to get in.” Rose spoke into the comm after she turned it on.

Apollo opened a 3 dimensional model of the dome through Rose’s comms. “Scan the substance it’s made of. Don’t use any doors, hatches, windows, chutes, or elevators. OGA has DoorLogPlus, made by Midzog, on all the doors!”

“Indeed. We’ve discovered the base. Lemme set up my Transmat machine, since we don’t need to be here anymore, our job’s done.” Jack pulled out equipment out of his pack, making a small machine to stand on, with three identical rails connecting to it. Before he could finish, there was gunfire peppering around them. Jack jumped to the ground, grabbing Rose.
“Fuck, they found us!” He said, quickly crawling to protection under a boulder, trying to shield Rose.

Apollo heard the gunshots. “Should I go down there and get you guys? Hold on, just attempt to transmat back! I enabled the exit gate!” Apollo instantly got up and bolted to the hangar, comm in his ear.

Rose hissed as a bullet hit her wings, thankfully not ripping a hole through it. Rose used her wings to shield Jack and herself. Turning around a bit, Rose shot a bit blindly in the direction of the shooters with electric charged balls. “We’ll be fine! Manage the others.”
