Chapter Six: Split Paths

Andaluza quickly dashed out of the way before Jack got to his leg. “Gotta be faster than that.” Andaluza then <i>electrically charged his hands and rapidly punched Jack over and over across the face.</i>
Andaluza then took a step back and stared into Jack’s eyes. “There is no way you can get me from way over there.”

Jack laughed.
“Punch harder, fucker.” He grabbed Andaluza’s fist, gripping it and throwing him to the ground, putting a boot on his throat and pulling out a pistol, aiming it at his head. With one free hand he commed Apollo.
“Andaluza currently detained. Should I proceed to arrest and deliver him to police?” He asked, the gun trained on his forehead.
“One move and I’ll blow your brains out.” <i>He grunted.</i>

Apollo commed Jack back. “Hey, he shouldn’t be arrested! He’s under Ree’s trident!”
Apollo kept on trailing Ree, this time grabbing his foot and tackling him into a building window, hurtling through the window.

“So just let him go? What do I do?!” Jack asked, perplexed.

Andaluza focused his eyes on the gun. It suddenly blew it to shreds, then he lifted Jack’s foot, flipping him on the ground.
“Think again, cupcake!” Andaluza yelled in a voice unlike his own, his eyes flaring yellow with the Trident.

Apollo commed Jack again. “Subdue him and keep him under your grip. Act like you’re arresting him. Once I take out the trident he’ll be fine.”

Jack swept his legs across Andaluza, knocking him to the ground again. He pounced on him, pressing a palm against his eyes to prevent his vision.
“APOLLO! What do I do?!”

Andaluza focused at Jack’s palms, burning a hole through the back of his hand, then mirroring a sweep kick across Jack’s knees, causing them to buckle.
“No use calling Apollo now, he’s probably being hit by Ree over and over!”

Ree set himself on fire and jumped towards Apollo at superspeed.

Jack yelped in agony, tackling him again.
“You made me do it!” He shouted, jamming his thumbs into Andaluza’s eyes, wincing with the squelching noises as blood pooled around his fingers.
“Fuck, that’s disgusting!” <i>Jack cringed, still digging his fingers.</i>

Apollo commed Jack again as he charged towards Ree as well.
“Hit him hard on the back of the neck!”

Andaluza blinked hard before kicking Jack on the arm lightly in a desperate attempt at freedom.
He then opened his eyes, revealing the same yellow glow of the Trident, somehow able to see. “Think before you act, wobbleneck.” Andaluza took off, ramming into Jack like an overloaded freighter, then flying up with him.

Ree hit Apollo first, breaking the window again and smashing him against a tank of concrete, his vision blurring.
“What…did you DO?!”

Jack shouted in surprise as Andaluza suddenly took to the skies, Jack holding onto his torso as blood freely splattered on Jack’s clothing from Andaluza’s eyes.
“I’ve got a blinded Ascendii flying and I’m barely holding on! Help!” <i>Jack yelled at Apollo.</i>

Apollo created an electrofield, circulating steel parts from the concrete tank around it. “Did nothing. Oh wait…”
Apollo commed Jack. “NECK. NOW!”
