Chapter Two: Outlaws

Odysseus sits in the cockpit of the Andros, sipping a cup of tea, and begins the descent to his Chiron facility. He pulls through the icy clouds, crossing speedily over the relatively tranquil water, until he reaches a point where the water is completely still. He then allows the ship to hover, before slowly descending beneath the surface, and as his ship touches the water no ripples are sent across its surface. The place gives an uneasy feeling to the entire crew. Eventually, they enter a large circular honeycomb-glass dome, moving into an airlock and then a landing pad. Odysseus speaks over the ship-wide intercom, “Thank you for flying Air Odysseus. We hope you enjoyed your time here with us, and look forward to serving you again. Now get out. Sorry, that was rude of me. Please. Get out.” Odysseus lowers the boarding ramp for the others, and sits in the ship for a moment, finishing his tea. He then steps off the ramp, and the LED lights come on lightly throughout the facility, as the entire place still has that… wrong feeling, as though it were unnatural. “Jack, come with me to the MedBay! I need to check your vitals.”

Apollo silently listens through the door before slinkying off like an owl. [Why does Geralt not trust us? I think he’s in it for himself, not the team. I expect this sort of disloyalty from a Lupide but not from Faye. Faye’s a human, humans are cool.]
Apollo walks over to Odysseus quickly and taps him. “Uh, do you think there is someone in the group who is in it for themselves, someone who is not loyal for real? I feel bad about it.”

“I dunno. Like five-hundred, I guess. Who’s this guy? One of your friends?” Jack asked Apollo, shaking Lance’s hand and squeezing it a tiny bit too hard.

Faye pulls up a chair and gets her datapad, “Let’s see here… Odysseus is a technological genius, owning multiple AIs including SAL and CAL… Jack is a ex-criminal slash vigilante, who only believes he’s doing right for the sake of revenge… Apollo…I don’t know much about him really, he’s a good chef and has a rivalry versus the other Ascendii in the OGA. He’s also standing right outside our door.” Faye nods to it, hearing Ody over the intercom. “Let’s go, I’ll tell you about Rose down there.”

Geralt nods. Alright, then. I guess we’re off right now. Geralt opens the door and follows Faye.

Jack followed Faye and Geralt.
“Can someone tell me what’s going on? Who are you guys?” Jack asked, following them.

Apollo immediately starts speaking to Geralt. “I’m Apollo Venport. Age 12000, or 684 in earth years. I belong to the Exansis group of Ascendii on the west side of Inversia. I want the OGA to go down. That’s about all you can know for now.”

“Apollo, I know you. Shut up. And you’re like, 400. Who are these people?” Jack said, gesturing to Faye and Geralt.

Apollo smacks Jack on the head. “Not everything’s about you, I’m talking to Geralt. Geralt is the puppy and Faye is the human.”

Jack went flying into the ground by Apollo’s hit, groaning.
“What the-that usually never hurts…”

Faye continues to walk with Geralt, glancing at Apollo with a worried expression. He didn’t trust him, did he? She leads the way with him, smiling a bit as she gets out of the ship with Geralt the puppy.

Geralt grumbles to himself I’m not a puppy… Geralt, once off the ship, takes in the underwater base Odysseus has and whistles. Damn.

<i>Jack got up, rubbing his head.</i>
“Ow…anyway, yeah, this is Ody’s base. It’s gonna feel a little weird in the nose and ear areas since we’re so deep underwater. Also, eyeballs. I just wish someone would tell me why you guys are here…” Jack grumbled.

Apollo pulled Jack up. “Sorry, I guess I’m still under the influence of SL.” Apollo’s irises faded from silver to the usual dark blue color. “That, or maybe you’re not as strong as you think.”

“What are you talking about? Watch this.” <i>Jack jokingly punched the metal wall, and shouted in pain, holding his hand.</i>
“Ouch! What the fuck? Why didn’t it break?!”
