Faye looks over at Geralt, then examining all of the devices in the room. She heard Ody’s warning to not touch anything, eying Geralt and Apollo…

Faye then stands by Geralt, glancing over at him before hearing a loud scream, turning to Jack. Unable to turn around fast enough, she feels a pair of rage-driven hands strangling her slowly, her eyes widening and her breath escaping her, a feeling of numbness overtaking her mind…

She manages to gasp for breath after a while, feeling her body slowly get air back through it, tears beginning to stream down her cheeks. As her eyes look back at Jack with fear. She obediently follows Geralt in silence.

Geralt takes her away from the area Jack is and then releases her hand, slightly blushing, but not enough to be noticeable by even the keenest of eyes. Geralt then starts examining the strange devices as he talks. Faye, why do you put up with the shit this group puts you through?

Faye looks up at Geralt and wipes the tears away, keeping a close eye on him to make sure he doesn’t activate a lethal weapon or something, “I-I don’t have a choice at this point…I don’t know where to go. I-I lost the one job that I actually enjoyed doing and now…that it’s gone…what do I do?” She looks up at Geralt, her eyes asking for guidance. Maybe she could pull off this ploy…

Geralt looks Faye in the eyes, falling for her fake emotions. I’m trying to find Rose. Odysseus actually knows where Rose is. Maybe we could get her location and join her? Geralt gets too close to a device and Faye slaps his hand. Okay, that was probably needed.

Faye frowns and slaps Geralt’s hand as he tries to poke something, “N-No…Rose doesn’t trust me either…honestly you shouldn’t either…” Faye looks Geralt in the eyes, taking a deep breath. “So. Here it goes. Malice and Rose and Katherine…they’re both…” She closes her eyes, “They all summon demons…none of them can be trusted. For anyone.”

Geralt slowly spins around. They’re all.. demon summoners? As in they… worship demons?? You can’t be serious, no. No no, they can’t be. Maybe Malice, but not Rose and Katherine. That can’t be true. Such souls, especially Rose, they couldn’t do/be something so terrible as that. No.

Faye shakes her head, “I’m afraid it’s true…I don’t have the camera evidence…but just ask Ody…That’s why they left us. Jack didn’t approve of it, threatened them, then we all fell apart…” She shakes her head, extending her arms to Geralt, “I-I know it can be hard to take…I mean…well, I have no idea how somebody takes figuring out that their friend worships demons…”

Geralt can hardly contain himself as he realizes everything that he has just been told. No, they can’t be demon worshipers. They can’t be. No. No. Why? Why would they want to do something as foul as worshiping demons? No. Geralt can’t contain his emotions as a tear rolls down his right cheek, his heart being strained under the pain of realizing Rose and Katherine may not be who they seemed to be all this time. Geralt embraces Faye, whimpering as he does so. His tail darts up to his face to hide his face. You can’t be seen crying, Geralt. Out of anything, the embrace, whimpering, you just can’t let anyone see you cry.

Faye smiles a bit and holds him in an embrace, tightening her grip in a gentle manner. She brings up her hand and lightly strokes the back of his head, “It’s okay…you didn’t know…you can let it out…let it out…” She closes her eyes, standing tall before him. It began…her plan was coming along perfectly… It’s been a while since she’s toyed with someone’s heart… The thought made her grin, still keeping a grip around him until he was ready to let go.

Without a noise, Jack was at the door, staring at them both. His head was shaven from Midzog’s alterations to him, no longer sporting the unkempt loose hair he had before. He looked exhausted, deep violet circles under his sunken eyes. His gaunt face appeared slightly ghost-like in the low-lit room. He was still wearing the damaged OGA armor.

“They’re Daomer.” His voice was like gravel, staring at Faye.

“I trusted you. I trusted you.” He walked up to her, grabbing her by her collar and glaring down, rage etched on his face.

“Get rid of those crocodile tears, you fucking monster. I was this close. This close, Kika, Faye, whatever the fuck your name is. Because of you, those kids are still abducted. I could have saved them. This isn’t about revenge. I couldn’t give two fucks about my little revenge. I did it for the children!” He yelled, fuming.

“I could have gotten those kids to their parents without the unbearable torture they have to endure now. They moved base, Faye. I can’t track Midzog down, I have no idea where they are anymore. I promised them I would find them and return them. And because of you, they’re being tortured right now!” Jack pushed her, knocking her into a table, still advancing.

“I hate you. I hate you, not because you got in the way of my fight with Midzog, because you got in the way of me rescuing those kids.” He said, his voice breaking.

“Get it in your twisted head. I didn’t make the Keepers for revenge. I made it so that no one would ever have to go through the misery I did.” He turned around, walking slowly away, stopping again.

“I still need to decide if I want to kill you or not, yet.”

Geralt stops everything he was doing as soon as Jack showed up. Still in his emotional state, he wasn’t much help to Faye while Jack was ranting. Tripping over his own feet, Geralt falls to the floor, almost landing on the device Jack caused to fall off of the table Faye was knocked into. Geralt gets up, almost stepping on the device, still not noticing it, and stares at Jack as he finishes his rant. Why am I still here? I can’t stand this guy? I was actually happy that he was gone. Geralt slings his bolt-action rifle to the front of his body. I’m sorry I couldn’t help you, Faye. I’m sorry, I’m useless right now. I can’t even protect you, an ally, from him. How could I protect the helpless Lupides of the galaxy if I can’t protect you. Geralt walks off, kicking the device by accident. Thankfully, the device doesn’t activate. Once Geralt gets outside of the building, he leaps onto it and starts bounding away, from rooftop to rooftop to try and find a place where he can be alone.

((I’m assuming that all of the rooms mentioned earlier had roofs))

“Your friend just left you in a room alone with me when I just openly said I might kill you.” Jack harshly chuckled, lighting a cigarette from a lighter and pack on one of the tables.

“You’ve got some good friends, huh?” He said, blowing the smoke in her face.

Odysseus leads back on the Kubrite slab, resting his head. “The procedure went fairly well, SAL. Jack has been… More or less restored. The power of quantum metaphysical retracting never ceases to amaze me, but now… We will continue with our experiments.” Odysseus inserts small tubes into ports along his arm, and SAL speaks to him, ‘Yes. Quite amazing, sir. Now, if I might insist upon beginning. The next harmonic frequency? 42.168?’ “Yes, SAL. Let’s begin.” The chamber begins to vibrate, and as Odysseus reclines on the slab, his leaning back slows to a crawl. All movement in the building slows, and then stops, before arcs of a purple lightening trace throughout the facility, and are suddenly replaced by a blinding white light. SAL says in an unbelievably slow voice, ‘Sir, full power.’ Everyone then suddenly finds themselves in a new strange place, a green field with a red-purple-blue sky and two small suns above, surrounded by Kubrite pillars.

Jack casually looked up at the new landscape, now in a field of lush green grass and purple skies, still standing next to Faye.

“Looks like our friend has been messing around with quantum mechanics.”
