(S’ only awkward if u make it awkward. Trickster is joining in tho, so it will be back to three ppl soon. Also, sorry for the wait. Faced a couple problems, hopefully I can comment sooner from now on.)

She shook her head at the metal food-pickers. It would take a whole lot more than that to pick up a good fight with anyone. She hand-motioned her next string figure and accidentally sent a stray knife flying from her deck, smack right into her precious ‘The Magician’s Nephew’ poster. She stared, frozen for a moment at the paining sight of Digory Kirke being stabbed in the stomach by her knife before quickly taking the sharp object from the wall and stuffing it back in her deck without a moment’s hesitance. Her expression was glazed over all the while, as if she was forbidden to show the frown that would have been acceptable for the event. Even so, she frowned anyways. Oh, poor wizard boy. Having his title stolen by another author sure is pitiful.

Ruby patted Digory in his cut and made a note to sew the poster back to full health later.
The young lady stepped away from the sorrowful scene and went back to her computer. She rolled her chair back into her desk just to stare at the screen and wonder why she went back to the computer in the first place; she was supposed to be getting ready for the LARP. The thought escaped her mind as she took in the suspicious set of numbers flashed across her screen. It was a message from Dane, and according to her calculations, this was supposed to be the coordinates she was to punch into the transportalizer. She would do just that as soon as she managed to get ready for it.

The black haired girl sat slumped in her chair in front of her computer. Pesterchum was oddly silent and she pushed away from the computer twords the window. She shifted expertly so her stoppable wings wouldn’t be crushed. She looked out the window to her front yard. A tire swing hung from one of the trees that grew in her yard. Once again the drive way was empty. She turned away from the window and examined her room. A pair of daggers a little longer than a foot hung on the wall. They were positioned so their sheaths hung below them and a belt that would hide them under her cloths. A book self was stuffed full of well worn books and a few posters of her favorite books turned into movies hung around he room. Mostly crude painting she had drew hung around the room.

She hesitantly gestured with her hand and a small picture was pulled out of her deck. Its was faded ,but well taken care of. She tucked it back in her deck with the same hand gester a from before. Just then her computer beeped, some one had sent her a message. Floating in the middle of her screen was “get ready”. She nodded to her self and carefully got out of her chair towards the daggers. She pulled the belt off the wall and put it on under her shirt. Them she attached the sheaths and put the daggers in. With a shrug of her shoulder she could draw them out quickly. Looking out the window once again she had a feeling that something big was about to happen.

It took little time to decorate the parking garage with black and white checkers. Slightly more to appearify robotic chess pieces to cover most of these squares. The board was not a simple rectangle, however. Each floor of the garage was covered in the squares, in various patterns, and in fact the pieces could probably move however they wanted. Most important was the king and queen of each army, which had a lot of stength and could probably shoot lightning and other roboty stuff. The kings and queens waited on the top story of the garage, the space oddly silent as the robots awaited activation.

Dane stood, then, on the parking garage of Skaia. Between the great armies of Prospit and Derse, awaiting the other three warriors so that this battle could begin. Just for an ironically dramatic effect, Dane drew a sword, stabbed it into the earth, and sank to one knee, waiting beside the black queen.

Derse always won the war of skaia. Invariably.

(I guess it’s just you and me again…)
Dane hadn’t made it very clear, but she knew it would be some kind of strife, maybe even as big as a war, and she knew exactly what she needed to put into her strife specibus for that. She had her metal utensils there just cause she liked them, not that she would use them much at all. She usually kept her most used “weapons” in her strife specibus, but Mom needed some of the stuff at times, which weren’t normally considered weapons, for things like cooking(literally) and sewing. She hoped to get her own for her birthday. Thankfully, she had everything she needed already in there except for one thing. The most important thing. Ruby proceeded to take her sewing needles from the pink cloth she was coming together to create a sweater and put it in her strife specibus. She would have to finish that later. Wanting to waste no more time, she went back to her computer, not bothering to respond, she memorized the coordinates Dane had sent her, and punched it in her transportalizer right before getting inside and expecting the worst.
She reappeared in a darker place, eyes focusing on the black and white of it all. Her mouth curved for the first time that day… well, maybe not first but to emphasize. She looked around for a good long time, taking it in, recognizing every robotic member of both armies as if she had been in the real thing herself.
Ruby’s gaze stopped when she met Dane, kneeling with the sword beside the black queen. She laughed to herself. Right, the irony.
“Pretty impressive collection we have here.” She said.

(I’d hoped he would show up. Sorry for the wait.)

“Yes, it really is quite the collection. Whoever made them is much more skilled than I. Thankfully, they also don’t seem to mind my using them.” Mysterious, yes, but a bit of mystery was always fun. Dane flicked both swords out and raised them over the battlefield. “Welcome to Skaia! Or as close as our eyes are likely to see in real life. On this great chess board, wars are fought, battles won and lost, and the very imagination brought to life. It is a place of creation and destruction. Life and doom. And it is here that we will fight for the fate of humanity.” Dane grinned. “Or, in this case, bragging rights. Have you any idea where the others are? I know at least bob got my message, but he hasn’t responded since…”

(I’m used to it, tho hoping nefur hurts anyone too much)

Ruby raised an eyebrow. She wondered if Dane truly did not know the mastermind behind this war setting, or if he was simply joking around like he always was. His “irony” got in the way of things that would otherwise seem logical, but Ruby always knew the difference either way, not that it mattered. Why would Dane be making up tales at the start of a war? That’s just silly. “Sure better hope not. This place will be upside down after it’s all over. Blame’s on you for the damage, you bringing me here with all the trouble and all your usual shenanigans. Not that it doesn’t seem like a fun ride.” She eyed the swords while she said this, changing her gaze to look him in the eyes when she was done. She had heard of this place as if it was thrust right out of her very memory, so, of course playing a game of LARPing with so called coolkid wouldn’t not be a total adventurous disaster, Skaia themed specifically. His almighty speech was rather entertaining. All she thought of saying while he seemingly screamed his heart out was ‘Excuse me, Stridermyass, righteous retribution is fully on stock for you, sir, as I have solemnly gathered such effects for the reason of dragging me into this competition with or without much effort… Explaining what? That you will experience burns in game through yours truly, fellow enemy-in-game.’
Reasons stated that she would have to take place as a member of the Prospit army. She knew better than to expect the others to join in soon enough.
“They’re not joining us anytime soon.” She shook her head. “Either too late or too little… Besides, Bob has embraced the art of disappearing, if you get me. His mind is more wandering than ever and I might not have spoken with him today but I know as much. He is most likely playing around with the weapons he was supposed to bring for this event. He was invariably forgetful. With this keeping up, who knows what could happen to him, most specifically.” She shrugged. “I could do anything to make this a successful match.” She took out her glasses and propped them up her nose like the familiar, as if disguising herself. She waited for an opinion, if it would just be the two of them, if only for the time being. “Ready when you are.”

Goodness, her manner of speech took your brain for a ride. He could follow the words, though only barely. “Then one on one it must be. I only hope our gaming session won’t be as small. A two player session would be difficult, to say the least.”

Dane reached behind one of the bots and tossed a white scepter to Ruby. “White queen of Prospit, assume your duty.” Dane sheathed one of his blades and drew his own black scepter, stabbing it into the air. Around him, the army of black robots rose to life and drew weapons. Great armored rooks towered over the field, bishops waved ‘wands’ that shot lightning at diagonals, and knights held great swords as long as they were.

Dane himself climbed aboard the shoulder of the black king as it rose, his other blade sheathed so he could hold onto the king and scepter. Gesturing with the scepter, he sent two waves out to either side of the white army. Rooks guarded the wave, with knights reaching over them with their blades to stab from behind the rooks. Pawns rushed among the wave with smaller swords, overwhelming with sheer numbers and speed, and the bishops stayed back with Dane next to the king and queen, shooting lightning from a distance.

There wasn’t much time for Ruby to think. She’d have to come up with a plan fast or her entire army would be decimated before the war even began.
