Mr Haruno looked at a training stump in the ground, shaking his head at it then looked at a tree. That would be perfect. He walked over to the tree and said, “We’re going to start with some chakra control. I want you to plant your chakra into your feet and keep it stable.” He focused the chakra into his feet and began walking up the tree up until he walked onto a branch and was upside down on it. “This will be essential to making sure you stay put on such surfaces. With chakra control, you only need a little to stay onto it. Don’t over do it.” He smiled and crossed his arms and awaited for her to try too.

Muri followed her teacher over to the tree, and looked at the trunk dubiously as Mr. Haruno explained the task she needed to do. When he actually started to demonstrate how to walk up the length of a tree against gravity; however, she began to pay close attention to his movements. That skill would be very useful if it meant she didn’t have to transform every time she wanted to get somewhere up high or to get down from something high.

When it was her turn, the young student took a moment to close her eyes and focus on channeling her chakra to her feet.  “Alright! Imma give it a burl.” She put a chakra ladened foot to the tree trunk and pressed her weight to it. The right foot stuck, but her chakra was unevenly balanced between her feet. When that left foot came up to the trunk, Muri overshot the amount of chakra needed and repelled herself from the tree, leaving a small imprint of her shoe in the bark.

Muri landed upright, balanced on one foot and directed a frustrated frown directed at the tree. “Bummer, that. Lemme give it another go, teach!” She tried again, this time using less chakra, and she made it about three steps up before falling off the branch. “This is like stabbing an eel with a spoon! What am I botching up?” she complained, but with a determined and eager glint in her golden eyes.
