-
Rose pouted at Jack a bit, “Not helping. You should be more happy Mr. Grumpy.”

“Only time when I’m happy is when I’ve had too many drinks. And that’s Jack to you.” He grunted.

“Ody can tell you those stories. The weird old guy in the exoskeleton-looking suit. Back in our glory days I used to get hammered in those real fancy bars on the planets we used to adventure on. I’ve got a thing where I heal constantly, so I can’t get drunk like you guys can after a few drinks. To put it in perspective, I start feeling a little tipsy after my eighty-fifth whiskey.” He almost smiled for a second, his face snapping back to the almost sullen tired expression.
“You shouldn’t cozy up too much with team members. I had to learn that the hard way. It’ll be tougher to cope when they die on a mission.” He scratched his stubbled cheek.
-
Kika looks forward and chuckles a bit, enjoying the argument between Jack and Rose. She smiles and changes games on the datapad to Space Invaders, playing the game for a while until she overhears Jack with his last bit on his healing factor. She smiles and opens up a text document, copying down that and switching back to the game.
“Trust me Jack, I know what you mean.” She looks back at Rose and Geralt, “Sorry if I seem like I’m making a shell to you guys, but I don’t want to feel bad once you guys do get yourselves killed.” She sighs and sinks back into the chair, “And considering how we dealt with that last mission, that might be soon…”

Not because I’m particularly skilled or lucky, I just get hurt and get better. With enough training, you all will have higher chances of survival than me, healing factor be damned. That is, if you rookies don’t get yourselves killed like you just almost did.” Jack looked at Kika.
-
Kika looks up at Jack and nods, “Yeah, I suppose throwing us straight into the frying pan with no training could get us all killed.” She smirks as she eyes Jack, then looking back at the other two. She keeps on playing her game, defeating the invaders of space.

Without warning, Jack reached over to Kika, opening her passenger door and removing her seatbelt, having her leaning out of the car, Jack holding onto her by her shirt.</i>
“Who are you working for, you little spy?!” He demanded, shaking his hand that held her.
-
Kika looks over at Jack as he mentions business, very surprised when he parked and unbuckled her so quickly, holding her out of the door of the car, “WHOAA!! JACK!! CALM DOWN!!” Her hair flows with the wind as her eyes are wide with fear, a death grip on her datapad. “JACK! ROSE!! KATHRINE!! GERALT!!” She starts breathing rapidly, looking at Jack with desperation, “I-I WORK WITH NOBODY! I SWEAR IT! KIKA STARR WORKS WITH NOBODY!”

-
Kika looks up at Jack, tears falling down her face, “JACK!! CALM DOWN, PLEASE!!” She looks at the other two in the vehicle, hoping they’d actually do something. “YES! I HAVE BEEN TAKING NOTES! LIKE YOU SAID, WE COULD ALL BE DEAD! IF SOME OF US SURVIVE, WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO AND WHERE TO GO!!”

Deleted UserMarch 7, 2015 at 1:40 amJack stared at her, his eyes narrowing with a look of fury upon his face. After what seemed like ages, he finally pulled her back into the car, closing the door and continuing the drive, staring ahead.
“You were the weakest link in the group. I had to make sure you weren’t a spy for the protection of this team. Things happen.”
-
Kika lets out a sigh of relief and tries to control her breathing, closing her eyes for a bit. How could she be the weak link out of them all? Jack did nothing of actual use besides get shot! Rose was the real power and could have easily gotten the info without him. And Geralt…he was suppressing but other than that not doing much… Sure she didn’t kill anyone, but she did land all of her own shots…
She didn’t say a single word for the rest of the trip, only tying on her datapad as she tried to calm down with scrabble…
-
Rose, who was watching the confrontation, frowned a bit. “You two are very much right yet wrong. I understand that we are a new group but both of you need to calm down. I agree with Jack that Kika is very much suspicious however I understand that Kika has her own reasons for being cautious.”
Rose took out her deck and threw one card at Jack and Kika each. “I hope this never happens for you.” Kika’s card showed an Asphodel uprooted, Jack’s card showed a purple Hyacinth in the dark water.
-
Kika glances at the card, having no idea what it actually meant. She turns back around and shakes her head. An uprooted flower? The hell could that mean!? This superstitious bull is one of the things she hated so much… People decide their fate with their choices and determinations, not by some all knowing figure that assigns a set destiny… She turns the datapad off and puts it back away, glancing out the window, but being sure to be on guard. Jack wouldn’t catch her off guard this time…
