“I do what I have to to ensure that each and every one of you aren’t captured, tortured for information and killed like a stray dog in the street. Disagree with me if you want. I don’t give a damn.” Jack took out a cigarette, lighting it and putting it in his mouth as he drove.

Rose sighed as she stared at the two, they may not believe her but what she just gave them is a very possible ending to them. Seriously, she understood them both but she just wished they would heed her warning better or try a bit.
Rose continued to shuffle her cards, no need to dwell on it too long, hopefully the humans would see reason. Plus Rose wasn’t nearly as great dealing with other creatures much despite her appearance.

“Speaking of which, holy fuck!” Jack suddenly yanked on the controls, making the ship go into a 180 turn as focused beams launched over them, barely missing them as the car veered into traffic.
“Hold onto something, where did that come from?!” Jack sped through the traffic, barely scraping through lines of cars as they honked and speeding through as several ships followed, firing randomly.
“Shit, shit shit!” Jack yelled as he yanked the controls, the craft flopping about and speeding near-fatally through oncoming traffic, trying to escape.

Rose held onto the seat tight. “I would’ve been much better flying. What’s going on?!”

“I think they fucking tracked us-agh! Close call!” Jack said through grit teeth as he barely pulled out of traffic, circling a building and parking the craft on a small platform inside the building, turning the lights off.
“No one make a sound.”
The ships following the team passed right over the building, still looking for them.

Kika hears the sounds of Jack and holds onto the seat, hanging on for dear life as she had not reset her seatbelt yet. “JAAACCK! Who did we piss off now!?”

Rose shook her head. “Impossible, I had a spell on them! Someone else knows Jack.”
Rose held still and started getting out of the car.

“Stay the fuck inside. It’s the guys from the Lotus. Just, stay here.” Jack looked around angrily.

Kika slinks back into her seat and closes her eyes, not saying a word still. She takes a few deep breaths to calm down, opening her eyes again as her hand grasps her voice recorder.

A ringing sounds on Jack’s car, as a call goes through on the speaker phone. “Hello, Jack. You musn’t be so paranoid! I’ve been following you for the past three blocks. Like my new car? And sorry, but I installed surveillance in your car before I left. You must try to be nicer to Kika. These new recruits are delicate. And are you enjoying your cards, Rose?” Odysseus glances at the monitor. “An uprooted flower…? A tulip… Anyways, what are you guys up to now. Pizza? Or back to the apartment?”

Rose held herself back from sighing and sat back, “Okay…” She observed the conversation between Odysseus and Jack before waving at the screen happily.

“You fucking shot at us.” Jack said <i>incredulously. He sighed deeply, pulling out another cigarette and lighting it.</i>
“Whatever, Ody. Don’t you have a chess match to get to, or some sophisticated shit like that?” He quipped.

“Oh, come on Jack. You can have a few drinks when we get back to the apartment! But I didn’t fire-” <i>The side of Odysseus’ car suddenly explodes behind their car.</i>

“Holy shit! Ody!” <i>Jack threw his door open so hard, it ripped off the hinges, hitting the building. Jack ran off the platform, leaping onto the ship Ody was in.</i>

“We need to get back to the apartment, now!” Odysseus grabs the black bag from the wreckage of his car, and stares sadly as the smoldering wreck. “I just got it washed.”
