“There is boiled water in the air, just not any around the lava lakes.”

    Jack stretched, yawning.

“This is the ninety-eighth time on Inversia. Warning, the gravity’s way heavier. Apollo, Ody, Katherine and I will be okay, but you and Geralt are gonna have some difficulties. After a while you get adjusted, but warning you, it’s ten times the strength of earth’s gravity.” Jack said to Kika.

Kika rubs her eyes again, listening to the conversation, “Isn’t boiled water in the air still water in the air? Or steam in this case? Humidity? Mist I guess?” She whimpers slightly, getting thirsty now.

“Nope. No humidity. Just pure, dry, air. Burns your throat. Dehydrates you. Kills humans. So I made these for you.” Jack held up little blue pills.

“It should keep enough moisture in your bodies to keep you alive, although take them every four hours or you’ll die of dehydration.” Jack grinned.

She frowns and looks at the pill, “So, no chance of me staying on the ship to keep it safe then? Or have a communication relay with some sort of HQ?”

“Nope. Don’t trust you enough yet.” Jack said nonchalantly, with a hint of menace behind his eyes.

“You don’t trust me with my own ship? Alright. But when we leave I’ll keep the security systems online until we get back.”

“Good enough. I’m keeping an eye on you though. I let you back in the car last time, but…” Jack leaned in close to Kika, preventing anyone from hearing.

“If you give me, Ody or Apollo the slightest reason for us to be suspicious of you, I assure you, one of us will do the job and kill you.” Jack leaned back, stretching out in his seat.

Kika keeps her gaze leveled on Jack, not angry, but just annoyed now. She obviously didn’t like Jack. Hell, a lot of people didn’t like Jack! Lets see here…how many times have we been shot at? Two or three within the past day or so?

Kika nods, no emotion in her eyes or face, too tired to give any, “Sure.”

Apollo noticed that Inversia’s gravity was pulling in the ship extremely fast. “Uh oh, we can’t make it to the west side. Somebody hit the ditch button, unless this thing is water suited. Careful, water is hot.” Apollo brought the ship down close to Inversia’s ocean, scanning for coastlines. “Seriously? Kika, tell me how to work this thing…”

Katherine smiled a bit, “Thank you Ms. Asphondel.”

She glanced at Kika with a hint of worry in her eyes, “Are you going to be alright?”

Kika snaps back into reality and hops into the cockpit, “Ohforfucksake, get out of the way!” She quickly presses different switches and flips different buttons, a piece of material making way for a keyboard. She types on it very quickly as the hum of power is heard throughout the ship. “Hold on!!”

Apollo gently lands the ship on the water and seals all openings. “Success! Now we have a boat. We’re headed east. Change of plans. We can slip onto OGA territory and get two things done at once. Everyone up for a risk?”

Apollo gets up and sits next to Katherine and Kika, looking at Kika. “I know the planet looks harsh, but it’s rather livable. The air has as much oxygen as the earth has nitrogen and, well, full Ascendii and Inverses require nitrogen for their chemical processes. You’ll be fine, trust me.” Apollo then turns to Katherine. “You’ll find the place natural. If you are worried about Kika, you can assist her. We can start helping Geralt as well, the gravity barrier on the cruiser is going down in about 5 minutes.”

Apollo jumps out of the way and turns to the manual rudder signals, holding onto them, prepared for anything.

Katherine sighed a bit as she nodded once more, “What joy it is for me to be back here again.” Muttered under her breath as she turned to Geralt and Kika.

“Everyone ready to kill two birds with one stone?”

Static breaks out, and then Odysseus’s voice sounds over the comm systems. “Hello. Hello? This is the OSS Fury, requesting that you all watch your six. Used an eye scan to come after me I see? Not bad, Apollo. Quick thinking. So, what are you all planning? You’re coming in awfully quick under the radar.”
