Aubrey smiled. “They teach you how to control and use your powers. Different magic has different uses, and they’ll teach you that in two days, after you’ve gone to the Maji basics class.

“Hello, my friend here has gotten hurt and needs to be looked at.” Thomas said nervously.

“Oh. Cool.” Alina smiled softly as her mind wandered around what could be possible with her magic. She quickly got back to the current situation and asked “You said you were a permanent resident, right? Is the whole magic thing fun to you?”

Aubrey smiled and nodded. “Yeah, it is. But you hav to remember that again a it can be, it can also be extremely dangerous if you don’t use it correctly. We’ve had many a student be sent to the nurse because of accidents involving magic.”

“Oh. So, is some magic more dangerous than other kinds? I imagine a bit of water wont exactly be scarier than a raging fire. Or can they like compress water into spikes? Ohhhmygosh thatd be cool.” Alina giggled a bit, then cleared her throat to try and compose herself “Hehe… Sorry… Im a bit hyper.”

She giggled and tilted her head. “All magic is dangerous. I’ll try and give you a crash course. Water and Light are primarly defensive magic, Fire and Dark are mostly offensive, and Earth and Air are both. Different combinations create different results, like Air and Water magic used at the same time can turn the water into ice, or for something a little hitter, you can use Dark to strengthen Fire.”

“Oh thats cool. I now have an incentive to bug people other than to not be bored now.” Alina smiled “Anyway, i think all my school ish related questions are out of the way. So… Whats your thing?”

“Water and Earth. Its an odd combination, but its pretty useful. Of course, a lot of people say that your magic affects your personality, or vice versa.”

“Ah.” Alina took a moment to try and process what Aubrey may be like based on what shes seen so far and her magic. She quickly drew a blank, then went back to talking “I can only do the fire thing.”

She chuckled slightly. “Let me guess. You’re hyperactive, have anger episodes, and the first time you found your power was during a time of high emotion?”

“You probably also have a burning passion for something.” Thomas said to Alina supporting a now bandaged Alter. “But that’s only my thought.” Thomas said laughing.

“Yeahhhh… All that from the type of magic i can use..?” Alina had a look between concern, interest and confusion

“Yea you’ll get used to that…oh im Alter Netherwoood Dark-Fire user…hey that sounds pretty cool.” Alter said before going into a thinking pose.

“Wow. All bandaged up like that the first day? This magic stuff IS crazy… Im Alina by the way. Fire… Thing. Fire user sounds like a drug… Heh… Yo, want some fire? I got da good stuff.” She went into a small giggle fit before earning another spark from her fingers “Wait, is that a thing?”

“It was his fault.” Thomas said pointing to Alter. “He startled me and I blasted him on accident. ” he said trying to form a ball of water in his hand but failing.
