The Fugu Pirates

-Tanakami had kept her gaze locked on the strange group so the sudden roar nearly startled her. She looked over and saw the man from the poster. He fended off the people from the village and past him, she saw the little girl. But her eyes went back to the massive figure before her. From how he spoke she knew what he was, a smile forming across her face.
She heard him speak to her and it caused her to giggle to herself a bit, “ki shi shi,” then her head cocked a bit as her purple hair fell over her shoulder like fire. Her voice was quiet but absolute, “That old thing? I don’t believe in those times. So what? One little thing happened who knows how long ago and a girl can’t get some supplies? That is just plain rude.”
Her eyes traveled up and down his body and she took him in. “So you’re that bounty. No wonder you got so much,” She spoke happily and allowed her sharp teeth to show in a large open lipped grin. “You simply must be the captain. I have kept your bounty poster since I first saw it, I am a bit of a fan of your looks.” She offered him a sly wink then looked to go find what would be a place to get food to get going.
“Take it you know this place,” She spoke a bit awkwardly and asked, “Could you show me where I could stock on supplies? Heading to Logue Town.”-

Carina was about to ask for some more information on the stalker prison warden when a loud roar sounded from beside her. She blinked in surprise as Axel threatened and intimidated the crowd into submission. The village truly was terrified of him. A smirk crossed her lips at the venomous glares the fishwoman cross-breed shot in their direction before leaving. If she was actually a viable threat to her crew, Carina never would have let her go. It was clear that these villagers were all bark and no bite.
“Really, you think they’d be more polite to dangerous people,” she noted with amusement. Then the word “bounty” caught the young woman’s attention. Quickly, she focused in on Axel and the no longer in distress damsel, tensing up and preparing for a fight in case she was some kind of pirate hunter.
As the conversation continues, Carina narrowed her green eyes at the woman. Her teeth clenched and short purple hair bristled with suppressed distaste at the way Tanakami’s eyes roamed up and down her first mate’s body, noticeably and unsubtly checking him out. What the hell?
“…Since you seem to have the advantage of knowing who we are, mind telling us your name?” Carina stepped forward and a little closer to Axel, joining the conversation since she didn’t like where it was headed. Especially since this woman “happened” to be headed to the same place they were. The woman was bad news whether a pirate hunter after her next bounty or just a very attractive and flirtatious woman who probably creeped on her first mate’s wanted poster.
Normally, Carina was perfectly happy to be overlooked in favor of her more intimidating partner, but at this moment it irked her to be ignored. She gave the mysterious woman a suspicious look, her guard fully up.

-Axel heard the word bounty and his spine went rigid and he grew even more uncomfortable the way she was looking him up and down. He heard her call him the captain and he smirked as he pointed to the young woman next to himself that seemed to be growing agitated”this is my captain and it would be best to speak to her with respect or else, and the outfit your wearing interesting”. He pulled his journal from his back pocket and found thriller bark which made him smirk”didn’t know Gecko was into making babies, and since your so stand fast im guessing you fall from the same tree having the Kage Kage no Mi”.
Axel stepped back into the shadow of a tree so his shadow could no longer be seen hoping his captain would do the same since her fruit worked better at range incase this woman decided to attack”your fruit can steal the shadows and turn the victims to dust in the sun, thanks to Nico Robin I know how to defend against it, in two hours the sun sets and you will be powerless, so if you speak the truth and only want supplies then head north there is a trader for pirates up that way”. His eyes are narrow as he wants to attack this person as it would be easy for her to kill him or his captain if they weren’t on guard from now on.-

-Tanakami looked at the slightly agitated looking captain and leaned a little down. She was taller than her but certainly not as tall as Axel. She smiled and said, “Guess she is a fine captain. Certainly has brains to pick you.” She stood back up and smiled as he stepped into the shade of a tree. She laughed at him and said, “You have everything correct. I am Gekko Tanakami. Also, I wouldn’t steal from someone who is interesting. Though I might tickle it a little bit.”
Her shadow formed a duplicate of her and tried to brush up close to Axel, if it was allowed, the hands of the shadow traveling down and checking out his body a little closer. She would just laugh at them, “Ki shi shi~!” Then walk away, heading to the trader and leaving her shadow there to watch them. The shadow would still try to get frisky with him.
Tanakami would walk to the trader and lean over the counter a little and ask politely, “May I have just some salted meat for traveling and a barrel or two of rum or something. Just need things that won’t spoil.”
The person behind the desk grumbled at her and took out a couple pounds of meat. Rolled out one barrel and set it up then took another one and threw it on her before saying, “Just leave.”
Tanakami gritted her teeth but she wasn’t going to lash out at the person. She understood protecting one’s home so she took the meat and rolled the full barrel back with her foot, still leaving what seemed her shadow out and about.-

Carina looked up at Tanakami, momentarily taken off-guard by the sudden compliment. Her aggravated look cleared away with a blink, and she even flashed a small smile at the woman while Axel flipped through his journal looking for a particular entry. Carina watched her first-mate take shelter within the shadow of the tree while explaining the powers of the Kage Kage no Mi.
The young captain didn’t feel particularly threatened by Tanakami but took a step backwards into the tree’s shadow to ease Axel’s mind and err on the side of caution. “That sounds like an interesting Devil Fruit,” Carina exclaimed giving Tanakami an intrigued yet friendly look. Axel’s body language reeked caution and wariness, so the woman must be pretty dangerous. Maybe she was even as dangerous as herself? Accepting Tanakami’s reassurances, Carina watched the shadow take form and interact with Axel with interest. Her mind thinking about possible battle strategies for dealing with a creature immune to biological effects as she watched the being move. If her first-mate was feeling too agitated and distressed by the shadow, she would attempt to separate the two , but otherwise she didn’t intend to pick a fight. “Hey Axel, do you think she’s a navigator or shipwright?” The mysterious purple-haired woman had redeemed herself by having interesting powers other than being a shameless flirt. Getting the chance to have a friendly spar with her might even be worth letting her bum a ride.

-Axel looked at the shadow and sighed looking at it”I doubt she is a shipwright but maybe a navigator but even if she is not, I think id rather have her as an ally then an enemy”. He looked at the shadow as he stepped out in the sun”If she turns me to dust I hope you turn her purple before she cooks you also”. He did not like the idea of being around a fruit user that could kill him so easily. He made his way over to the owner of the flirting shadow picking up the barrel and placing it on his shoulder before he threw used a single finger to tap the mans trading stall and it broke in half. He looked to the woman”Ill take this to your ship or you can jump onto are brig there is more then enough room to fit us all comfortably”.
He was heading back to the docks planning to head back to the mayors office after they make a decision hopefully this woman would join them but if she doesn’t hopefully showing her some respect would make her an ally in the future if they ever met again.-

-Tanakami let her shadow come back to her as he came to help her. She witnessed his power and him lift the barrel up on his shoulder. She listened to his offer, her shadow relaying her what it heard. She looked at him and said, “I don’t have a ship. I have a Dinghy.”
She had spoken dead serious, assuming the captain of his crew was there she spoke out, “I wouldn’t mind hitching a ride but I don’t got much to offer in return. Unless sharky is interested in some physical contact.” She gave him a wink then walked to point out her dinghy, which had a little meat and some rum in a corked barrel. She then turned back to them and said, “If that’s it then well, thanks for the help. If you don’t mind my uselessness, other than looks and fruit, then I would gladly hitch a ride.”-

Carina nodded as Axel left to go help out Tanakami. “You’re in my crew, Axel. I’m not going to let her kill you.” She was vaguely troubled by his lack of faith in her, but then again this was their first contact with another Devil Fruit user. She made a mental note to ask when she got some time alone with him whether the first mate was afraid of Devil Fruit users. He hadn’t known about her power when he originally invited her to take up piracy.
The young captain listened to Tanakami’s modest assessment of her skills and then shrugged, “I don’t begrudge you the food or space. If you’d be willing to help swab the deck and take a shift of night watch to save us a couple hours of sleep, that’s good enough for me.” Her face turned a light shade of pink at the thought of the Kage Kage no Mi user’s other offer, and purposefully neglected to comment on the whole “physical contact” bit in an effort to maintain a bit of tact. What Axel did was his own business and to be honest she’d rather not know. “Assuming my first-mate has no objections.” Once all of the barrels were placed, she turned to Axel. “So were you going to give me a tour of your home-town or what? It’s almost night-time!”

-Axel listened to her comment of physical contact and he smirked so he placed the barrel he was holding on the ship before grabbing her dingy and resting it on the deck for now planning to take it down stairs in the hold later on. He turned to the new crew mate”you can follow or stay here but I did say id give her a view of birth place but this place will never be my home, That is Dawn Island where I grew up with Jeht”. He had much respect for the Yonko that currently held rule over the east blue. He was hunted by three of the seven Shichibukai.
Axel wade his way to the Mayors office pushing the huge double doors open and the two women sat there naked with a chain around there necks fanning the mayor. It wasn’t noticeable to his his crew but both women were mermaids they didn’t have the tails though. These were powerful creatures even to his kind as they some times could see the future so why were they being used as slaves. His anger was back in waves though he was hiding it as the mayor walked in a speedo and a unbuttoned flowery shirt he was making sexual motions to his twin slaves until he spotted the huge male and his team. He covered himself.
Axel reached down and picked up the mans wine glass and took a sip”Of course orange wine very rare to any other in the sea but here its more abundant then water, so explain why Lara and Karina are chained and fanning you”. The man turned red as he finally realized who he was”so the bastard son comes back to take over with his bitches, seems your following in your fathers foot steps”. Axel smiled as he stepped on the locks and they snapped the second they did so both women jumped in the water and swam away there tails appearing instantly which brought a smirk to Axel”See now I don’t have to be like my father as they will tell the new Neptune and the red king will be visiting you once again, now I can calm my brother if you tell me where to find a navigator and a shipwright”.
The man spun and stared in horror as the women swam away he knew they could easily enter the grand line as no sea king would attack a mermaid. “you can find one at the dock by the name of Luke, and I have no idea for a navigator as after Nami people felt studying the charts would only bring pirates here more often”-
Axel smiled and walked away”good luck with jeht, I haven’t spoken to him in five years”. He was heading to his ship keeping himself dark to his crew before he spoke as they stepped on the deck”if you wish to know what just went on, I grew up with the man named Jeht until he left to become a pirate and I decided to join his crew, but ran into the marines and then met Carina, ive decided to beat him once we meet again, he is also the son of Zoro the master swordsman so dont take him lightly when we meet”.-

-Tanakami watched her stuff get placed onto their boat and then opted to stay on it. She climbed aboard and sat on the edge. That was dangerous for her to do but she didn’t care. She spoke to Carina, “I can handle a night watch. My powers are a little useless then though. Only fought at night once, and had to wait for the sunrise to kill.” She watched Axel take off then sighed and stared out at the sea. Her crew was out there looking for her and she was hiding in another crew. She let her mind blank out.
She resumed her focus when he came back and seemed very dark. She listened to the explanation and cocked her head a little bit. He was friends with a high bounty person. This was intriguing to her. She sighed and then said, “So you know the high bounty person. Cool. And just to be clear, I am only sticking here til Logue town. I have something special I am going after.” She smiled and pulled herself to stand on the edge then let herself back on deck.-

“That’s no problem. I don’t expect you to have to fight much, just wake us up.” Then Axel left to go to the mayor’s office so she had to run after him. Once there, Carina watched and listened to the whole exchange, proud of her first-mate for releasing the enslave mermaids. After obtaining a lead on their new shipwright, they young woman lingered back for a moment as Axel stalked off. The speedo-clad mayor was sweating bullets and she could practically hear his heart racing from where she stood. Her slight smile split into a toothy grin.
“I don’t blame you at all for being scared, Mayor.” The man turned to her with surprise, having not realized that she was still in the office. Carina continued, “He’s pretty terrifying when he wants to be,” she commented casually,”but you should know that I’m FAR more deadly than he is and I really have no attachment to this place.” The mayor’s eyes widened as his mouth dropped open. “What?” The question came out as a disbelieving squeak. She continued on, her toothy grin only widening. No wonder Axel liked doing this sort of thing. It was fun! “Yup! I could clear out the island in an hour, no problem. So, if your town could try to be a little more courteous to my first-mate, that’d be great.” Carina turned to leave, sashaying out of the door with a little pep in her step. At the last minute, she turned around, “Oh, and that’s the last time you call me a “bitch”, got that ya bitch?”
She scurried away to catch up with Axel, cursing under her breath his long legs. They finally boarded the ship, and Carina blinked thoughtfully at Axel’s story. “I’ll leave him all to you, then! So that’s why you wanted the swords back then. Sort of like a reunion gift? Oh, and what’s the deal with your brother? It sounds like he’s really high up in fishman society…”

-Axel smirked at her question”hes not my real brother just someone I was close to growing up, Though all of you know him as the Red King of the east, He was a young man heading to become a marine captain as his father did not want him living the life of a pirate like he had. Jeht decided to follow his fathers orders and become a noble warrior of the sea. Though at the death of the straw hat pirates in the same location as Gol D Rogers, He swore to become the most powerful pirate to ever sail, He stole the thousand sunny before it could be destroyed and one of his crew are a modieded pacifito that now powers the ship. It was damaged returning to the grandline which is why it has the red dragon head and black paiting instead of the yellow lion.”.
Axel sighed and kept walking on board the ship till he spotted a male walk up to the ship”You must be luke jump aboard and lets shove off and heading to either loguetown or the next adventure”.-

-Tanakami just listened to the on-goings and let it all take in. She smiled as their new crew member hopped on. She giggled to herself and then looked out at where they would be going approximately. She sighed and kept her smile but she seemed to be exhausted from her own excitement. She didn’t let it show though, she wanted to get out onto the seas and had taken in the information on the high bounty man. She then walked towards them and said, “So, We’re going now?” Her eyes went to Carina for the all go. She gained her energy back through the mere excitement of getting closer to her goal. Her birthright was only inching closer and she was so excited. Everything ran through her mind. What she wanted to do when she got there and to honor the graves that were present there.-

“Yup, onward to Loguetown!” Carina announced happily as she scurried past Axel to get onto the ship. A quick glance at the map and her compass and back up at the sky made the young captain’s face glow with excitement. “The wind’s pointing in the right direction, alright! Luke, stay there for a moment. Axel, would you please weigh anchor?” While giving out instructions, she quickly untied the thick ropes tying off the sails by climbing around on the rigging, confident that if she fell she could Venom Road her way safely back to the deck.
Once that was done, and the ship was all ready to set sail Carina leapt down from one of the shroud back onto the wooden floor and turned to Luke. “Hey! Luke, right? I heard you’re a navigator so if you want to ditch this island then welcome aboard! We have plenty of room on this ship so that shouldn’t be a problem. I’m Carina Skylark, this ship’s Captain and a wanted woman!” The last part was said with a bit of pride, “I’m also the ship’s doctor so if you have any medical problems I should know about, we can speak privately. But, the physical can wait for now, let’s get you all moved in! Where’s your stuff?”

-Raphael turned the ship slowly to keep it in line with the wind so that they could reach loguetown quickly. He then handed the wheel over to his captain before heading down into the kitchen to make a meal for all of them. He walked back up and reached his arm into a cage where there were chickens and grabbing one by the neck carried it downstairs with the crew looking at him like he was crazy. They would all hear a squawk and then slam as the hatchet takes off the head of the creature. He then feathers it then empties it of the unneeded entrails throwing them out the window, he had green beans and seasoned rice to go with it. He had it finished within a couple hours and as he came up he noticed a door he hadn’t checked before so he opened it and it seemed empty until he bent down and found a bottle of wine so this was a winery ship which was interesting and gave him some idea’s for future meals. He brought up the trays with four meals for the crew along with having a bottle of wine in his hand which he poured four glasses of”well we have finally got a shipwright and hopefully a future ally so lets celebrate as tomorrow we will be in loguetown hopefully.- He sat down to eat while he sipped at the wine knowing it may effect these humans but was no where near strong enough to hurt him.-
