The night begins
-
The floor of the ballroom was waxed to a pristine shine. Each crystal in the great chandelier sparkled brighter than the stars just coming alive outside. The gardens were carefully cultivated to provide the most stunning view from the balcony. The refreshments, made with the finest of ingredients, sat ready in the kitchen, waiting to be brought out once the guests arrived. And as Sebastian placed the final rose on the final arrangement at the entrance to the ballroom, he sighed, and paused in his work for the first time that day, before checking his pocket watch. Seven thirty, better make sure the master was prepared. He walked past the musicians, who were rehearsing their pieces one last time, through the foyer, which he’d cleaned this morning, up the main staircase, down the third floor hall, and came to the master bedroom. “My lord,” He said, knocking lightly before opening the door “The guests will be arriving within the hour. It would be best not to keep them waiting.”
-
Ciel turned to face the butler.”I suppose you are right.” he sighed and walked to the door to meet Sebastian. God, how he hated these events. Never the less, he stood tall as he made his way through the hallways to the ballroom. As he entered the massive room, he gazed around him. Perfect. But there was no real suprise there. He took a seat near the back of the room to wait for his guests to arrive. “Sebastian, prepare to greet the guests as they come.” he commanded. The ball hadn’t even started yet and the end of it couldn’t come fast enough.
-
A strange looking man waltz’s in through the open doors, “Oh! How kind of Bassy to leave the doors open for me!” He sticks out his tongue as he skips around the cheery band, “A party with a Bassy! A party with Bassy!” He twirls and looks down at his beautiful clothes, “I hope this new ensemble of lace and frilly petticoats ((Yes, he’s wearing a dress)) and red ribbons brings Bassy to his senses so my love can be realized! OH BASSY!”
-
“Yes, my lord.” Sebastian bowed politely before turning and leaving the ballroom. Upon reaching the foyer however, he stopped, the calm expression slipping into one of irritation. This was the last thing he needed right now, and even worse, it was wearing a dress. “The party hasn’t even started and you’re dancing already? You wouldn’t want to get tired before the other guests arrive, surely.” He kept a rueful smirk as he approached the energetic shinigami.
-
“Oh, Bassy!” The red haired wonder twirls toward Sebastian, “I can never get tired with you!” He twirls some more until he’s right under Sebastian’s chin, “Do you like my ensemble? It’s simply wonderful! A lady must always dress properly!”
-
(hallo! May I join pweeze?)
Elizabeth, or Lizzie as she preferred to be called, stepped out of the carriage wearing a positively adorable pink and white dress, every in covered in ribbons and lace. She smiled happily and waved the carriage off, then approached the mansion to see Ciel.
-
((HELLO! CIEL! Where are you?))
Grell smiles at Sebastian, “When is this party starting? I already see a lovely young lady approaching, does that mean hearts will fly and happiness will shine?” He clasps his hands and fidgets around, blushing, “Oh! The beautiful world of noblemen. I wish I was a duchess, such beautiful clothes!”
-
((Welcome! I’m glad to see the group is expanding))
“Now that Lady Elizabeth is here, the dancing should start quite soon. As for the hearts and happiness…” Sebastian looked backwards toward his sulking master “I’m afraid the master’s fiancée has her work cut out for her tonight.” With that, he went to the door and greeted the blonde girl with a slight bow, smiling. “We are honored that you’re able to attend, dear lady, please do come inside.” He stepped back and gestured to the hall, ignoring Grell’s antics. “My young master is brooding in the ballroom, perhaps you’ll be able to shake him out of it.”
-
((Sorry, Sorry. Was kind of busy))
Hearing voices in the foyer, Ciel reluctantly stood and began walking in the general direction of the doors. He was now able to make out Lizzy’s voice in particular and braced himself for the rather enthuastic hug that she always greeted him with. He could also hear the voice of Grell resonating through the hall. Resting his face in his hand, a feeling of exhaustion passed over him. This was going to be a long night.
-
“Oh! Is your charming little masters here? Why don’t you forget about him and save some more time for me?” Grill frowns then turns to Lizzy, “And as for you young lady, that lovely dress is simply adorable! Please keep Bassy away from Ciel long enough so he can sweep me off of my feet?”
-
((AUGH! SORRY! I wasn’t getting the notifications for some reason!!))
“Thank you, Sebastian.” she says politely with a bright smile before bouncing over to Ciel. “CIEL!!” She exclaims, hugging him exactly as he had predicted. She then lets go of him and smiles brightly. “Are you looking forward to dancing tonight?” she asks
-
Still recovering from the hug, he manages a less than halfhearted “Of course”. Realizing how unconvincing he sounded, and how upset Lizzy will be if he doesn’t want to dance, he offers her his hand. “Would you like to begin now?”
-
A pitter-patter is heard from outside, as I approach the Phantomhive Manor. With each step, my luxurious cane tapping the ground. I am wearing a rather expensive golden suit, with a silver top-hat covered in fine gems, my cane gold as well, topped with a pearl.
I strolled forward, up the stairs, and knocked on the door. -
“Oh my! Bassy! Do you hear someone knock, knock, knocking on your door?” Grell skips to the door, “I’ll get it!” He flings open the doors with an astounding, “WELCOME!” And sees a young boy standing there with a beautiful coat and cane, “My!” Grell exclaims, “You look very nice tonight. Care to join?”
-
“I suppose that would be quite appropriate for the moment, though I may perhaps not be welcome here.” “Domo, oh red one.” he whispers sarcastically. He confidently struts inside, tapping his cane, with each step and greets a crowd of people in the center of the room
((I really need a Claude >p<))
