The night begins
-
((I would help you out, but unfortunately I haven’t seen the anime, only read the manga, so I can’t do Claude for you. Plus, I’m not good at male characters… DX))
Lizzie’s face becomes downcast for a second, then immediately brightens as Ciel offers his hand to her. “Why, thank you!” she bubbles excitedly as she takes it.
-
Sebastian resisted frowning upon seeing who was at the door. It wasn’t so much a matter of whether Alois would start trouble, it was a matter of when. Nonetheless, he bowed and gestured to the ballroom entrance with a causal politeness. “Welcome, Earl Trancy. Please, do join us.” At least the boy had come alone this time.
-
A moment later, Alois’ own butler appeared, walking through the door before Grell could think to close it. “Thank you for your hospitality. My master insisted on coming.” Claude said, looking through his glasses at Sebastian with an expression that said anything but gratitude. Then, seeming to remember why he was here, he followed his master.
-
Ciel lead Lizzy across the floor, trying his very best not to trip or step on her toes. He heard more people coming in from the foyer but paid little attention because he was so focused on the steps. He tripped a few times, but managed to stay mostly upright, only hoping that Lizzy hadn’t noticed how poor of a dancer he was.
-
She had definitely noticed, but chose not to say anything. She was smiling innocently, happy to be dancing with her fiancee.
-
Sebastian watched Claude with an unusually cold expression. What did those two want? He could hear that Ciel was still safely distracted by Elizabeth, for now. But all the same, he returned to the kitchen briefly; he was going to need more silverware.
-
“Bassy!” Grell chases after Sebastian, “There’s something wrong with the little boy. He’s dressed nicely, but his soul is all wrong.”
-
I look around, probing through the crowd, a desperate need in my eyes. I whisper to Claude: “Now, where is that brat?” As the music came to a mute, I made my way to the center of the floor. “Ladies and Gentlemen,” I announce, “I am the magnificent Alois Trancy” -faint giggle- “I am searching for my beloved companion, Ciel Phantomhive.” -I stand up straight and point my nose in the air- “I’d much appreciate if someone would reveal his location.”
The crowd is silenced, and a few distant gasps are heard.
-
Ciel hears the boyish voice before he sees the face to go with it, and knows the name before it’s announce. He turns to see the blond standing in the middle of his ballroom. A mix of rage and horror wells up inside him. “Lizzy, get to the farthest edge of the room.” he commands. He begins to weave between his guests. Before he reaches the centre, he calls out, “What is it that you want, Earl Trancy?” He stays hidden amongst his guests.
-
“But Ciel, I want to stay with you!” Lizzy protests quietly, an adorable pout on her lips. Finally, trying to stay positive, she gives in and walks away from Ciel with considerable effort. She wondered if he would be okay, she really wanted just a peaceful night to dance…
-
Grell sees that Sebastian is a little pre-occupied so for the first time all night, he breaks away from his side. As he makes his way to the concessions, he spots Lizzy pouting in the corner. He glides up to her. Before he can reach her however, he notices that nobody seems to care about his lovely dress, they all seem to back away in fact, after a moment of thought he skips to the bathroom and emerges wearing a much more “fitting” outfit. ((His signature outfit just frill everywhere.))
After changing, he once again starts toward Lizzy. He reaches her this time, “You there!” He smiles, showing his pointy teeth, “Why are you, such a lovely young lady, doing in this gloomy corner all alone?” -
Lizzy looks up with her big, innocent eyes and answers Grell’s question. “Ciel told me to go, he seemed very concerned… I didn’t want to worry him.” She silently wonders who this person was, and why their teeth were all pointy. She knew it would be impolite to ask, however, so she kept that part back.
-
Sebastian returned as quickly as he could, but held back rather than make his presence known. This was utterly ruining the relaxed atmosphere of the party, still, his master didn’t seem to want his help just yet. He stayed several meters away, intentionally closer to Ciel than Claude was.
-
Grell sees the confused look on Lizzy’s face, “Ah. How rude of a lady to not even introduce herself.” He grins, “My name is Grell Sutcliff and you are?”
-
“I’m Elizabeth, but I prefer to be called Lizzie, if you please.” She says softly.
