Ryujis phone vibrates. He glanced down at it, the app notified him with a timer that there was 30 minuets left until the event began, he was already on his way to Shibuya, taking back alleys through the city to avoid being sighted by civilians. He thought that if he arrived early, he would have a leg up on his competition, not having to face being teleported into the arena automatically by the game.
On the other side of the city, Rein thought along a similar process. She sat on the roof of a tall hotel with the silver case of her rifle by her side, the gently breeze fluttering her ebony hair. Already, she began to plan survival strategies for the upcoming death match.
-
Jax was riding a cheetah horse hybrid though town to get to Shibuya. He having been running late from trying to bandage his hand.
-
Rein, looking down from her spot on the skyscraper, senses a disturbance, quickly she pulls out her rifle from the case behind her and peers through the scope, using Laplace to quickly pinpoint the origin. She notices Jax on the outskirts of the city. Seeing the animal, she deduces the player must have a creation type Sigil, therefore must be a somewhat powerful opponent. She decides to continue tracking him, not wanting to be on the receiving end of a Sigil like that.
Ryuji heard the sound of flapping wings, turning to look down the alley he walked, he noticed the cheetah. Reflexively, he cocks his gun and flattens his body against the wall, “…Shit…” He murmurs under his breath, thinking “the event hasn’t even started and someone’s already using their Sigil?” He pats the pockets of his vest, making sure he had as many extra clips as he could carry.
-
Jax stops his hybrid when it begins to get jumpy and he gets off its back and goes in front of it and tries to calm him down. “Shh… shh… shh its okay boy.”
-
Ryuji pulls out his phone and looks at Jax through the directional camera on the app, pulling up his account page and scrolling to the bottom where he noticed his rank of C4 and sighed slightly, disarming his gun then knocks it on the wall to attract the attention of the other, “What the hell are you doing? Why are you using Sigil in front of civilians? You some kinda noob or something?” he hisses.
-
At the sound of the gun being knocked against the wall he spins around his bow in his hand with an arrow knocked on it pointing at Ryuji’s head. The horse cheetah hybrid rearing and whinnying.
-
Ryuji puts a hand up, leaning his gun on his shoulder, “Man, chill. I’m just trying to help you not get arrested. The event hasn’t started and you aren’t in a match or anything.” He sighs and checks the timer on his phone, already down to 20 minuets, then looks back up to Jax, “Anyway, if you’re going into this with just a bow, it better have some hardcore buffs. Some other guys are packing heavier artillery than I am.” He drops his gun from his shoulder, gives a slight wave and starts to walk away, “Hope you don’t die, kid.”
-
Mio sneaks into the round area, ducking into an alleyway at some distance once she spots the pair, she sits on a box with  her back to a wall.
-
“Do you need a ride there so your not late?” Jax asks as he pulls out a sketch book the hybrid disappearing as he begins to erase and doodle in it then a horse appears beside him. “Because I can give you a ride.”
-
Ryuji holds up a hand in a no gesture, “I don’t want to draw attention. My Sigil is shit so this is my only weapon.” He says, tapping his gun, then begins to walk down the alley. Spotting Mio, he startled slightly and quickly attempted to hide his gun, not knowing she’s also a player
-
Mio pulls against the dumpster tighter, trying not to be seen.
-
Looks into the direction Ryuji was looking and seeing Mio he jumps back some and has his horse disappear.
-
“Hey, uh, kid, don’t call the cops or anything, I’m not gonna hurt anyone.” Ryuji awkwardly scratched his cheek through his mask, realizing how criminal he must’ve looked, “I guess that’s hard to believe…” He trails off
-
Mio puts on a deeper voice, “don’t worry about me.” she slowly shuffles further down the alley.
-
Jax keeps his eyes on her as he sketches in his book. “Who are you?”
