Jax just looks at him with no expression on his face then he pulls out his art book and quickly draws something then armor appears on him. “Don’t doubt my abilities.”
-
From behind his goggles, Ryuuji rolls his eyes again. “I was just making sure you wouldn’t get your head blown off the second we walk out there.” As they reach the edge of the alley looking out to Shibuya station, He crouched down and looked over the empty plane and produced a scope from a pocket of his jacket and puts his eye through it, inspecting the other shadowed alleys, windows and rooftops of surrounding buildings. Without putting down the scope he says, “It looks to be a standoff, I cant make some of them out, but I can see at least a dozen scattered. Some of them may be in clans, most have guns and I’d bet the others will use Sigils. I can take the bullets, probably not fire or whatever else they might throw at us.”
-
Mio follows the other two as stealthily as she can down the alley, her form covered in armour but her feet uncovered.
-
Jax nods, “I can handle that.” He quickly starts to sketch then closes the book. “I’m ready whenever you are.”
-
Ryuuji nods in return, collapses his scope and pockets it back in his jacket, then arms his gun with a metallic click. He stood up slowly and looked through the directional camera on his phone and saw the glimmer of one of the rings through it. Then, holding that spot in his sights, he began to sprint through the center of Shibuya crossing. A rain of bullets from all directions came down at him. He returned their fire with that from his own gun.
-
Jax sprints behind him and whistles his book glowing in his hand and a dragon appears above them.
-
Mio meeps at the dragon, giving her phone another check for rings, she skirts the buildings, taking advantage of Ryuuji’s distraction to clomp towards another ring.
-
The bulletfire from the gunmen in the buildings paused for a moment, then returned with twice the vigor, aimed at the dragon this time. Ryuuji sped up a little more, putting down his gun to gain more speed. He approaches the ring on the ground in the center of the crosswalk, quickly picks it up and puts it around his wrist, then slides into another alley.
-
Jax follows him but grabs his gun for him then he whistles again the dragon moving lower to the ground to cover him more but it breaths fire in the air to keep distracting the others.
Wolf at its masters whistle it slinks around the back and goes to Ryuuji and lays down next to him.
-
Ryuuji puts a hand on the wolf’s head, taking a moment to catch his breath and recover from the bullets that hit him. Despite his bulletproof armor it still stung where he was hit. He pulled out his phone to plot his next course of action to take the next ring. Meanwhile, the fire hydrants in the corners of the station began to tremble and create a disturbing creaky sound. One by one, each of them erupted like a geyser. The water began to gather into a massive bubble in the air and move slowly towards the dragon.
-
Wolf stays by him ready to grab him and run if needed.
Jax notices the water and puts his art book and pencils in a plastic bag as he runs and puts it way then he lets out a high-pitched whistle as he hits the ground. The dragon landing right over him and curls around him in a protective manner.
-
The water bubble began to wrap around the dragon, and once immersed as much as possible, began to freeze over starting from the head and gradually moving down its body.
-
The armoured figure of Mio rapidly slips past Ryuuji and the wolf, charging down the alley.
-
Dragon its body begins to heat up enough to melt some of the ice and it shifts a bit to let Jax move around enough to grab his art book and make the dragon disappear. Jax sitting in its place drawing as fast as he could before he puts the book back in its plastic bag and he puts it in his pack.
Wolf growls at Mio when she runs past.
-
Ryuuhi watches Mio as she runs by, “Hey!” He shouts after her, standing up sharply, “You’re that kid right?” He asks, starting after her, “there’s something I gotta ask you!” The water still in the air begins to separate and reform into a different shape, several small bubbles instead of one large one. They split and multiplied like cells in the air until one by one they began to fall towards Jax, freezing into sharp icicles as they fell.
