*Many of those who escaped the borderlands or were rescued found a good living in the new world. But an unfortunate few were vulnerable and once they arrived in the big cities they were gullible to predators who kidnapped many of these escapees and brought them to an underground Slave Market. The mistreatment and filthy situation many of these slaves were kept in was deplorable. It was up to the good government officials and civilians to take it upon themselves to retrieve and save those who were captured and brought to slavery. But how many could they save and what kind of challenges would they face trying to retrieve these innocents from their new masters and the merchants who weren’t going to simply hand over the slaves to the rescuers.*

*The merciless shinsengumi captain came into the outer banks of the city and cut down a few of the merchants that could possibly give the rescue team any problems as they quietly infiltrated the market that posed as a regular village but it was really a staple of illegal activity. Sougo would only take alive the kidnappers that might have valuable information about the whereabouts of refugees that had already been sold as slaves.*

*outside the village, Seiryu reported to Sougo and then went to the inner gates where it was his turn to create a bit of a diversion and confusion so that the rescuers had a clear path out of the compound.* I only need one sword to conjure up a dragon storm! *he grins*

They had gotten plenty of evidence to convict some of the mastermind there and they’ve taken some into custody. They would return at a later time to investigate the other strange villages which also held slave markets when they returned.* Ikuzo!! *He commanded as they left the area*
