After Averon
-
drakel pulled a pack of smokes out from his pocket, nicotine had strange effect of Kelfir, no one was certain why but it hightened there cognitive abilites if taken over a long period of time, the effect was slight but given that they didnt get any of the negitive effects humans did from the toxic substance most kelfir would find themselves smokers eventuly
he lit the smoke in his mouth and offered the girl one as they walked out of the coffee shop
-
She took it, nodding her thanks, but didn’t light it, only sticking it in her mouth contemplatively. She glanced over at Drakel and snapped her fingers together, causing them to spark like a lighter, then lifted them up to the cigarette, finally lighting it and taking a long drag from it.
“So I’m assuming that since you are willing to help me you have some sort of transportation?” -
he laughed “fraid not just my leggs and my will” he stopped and looked around for a moment, getting his barings as the cars bikes and other such vihicals rode by “youd best lead the way, youd know this town better then i”
-
John looks up and sees Drakel. He then starts waving and hurrying towards him. “Drakel! HEY DREKAL!” He runs up to the pair. “Wait up for a sec.” He slows to a walk. “Hey…long time no see…” He looks towards the Haerich. “Who’s your friend?” John says with a rather casual demeanor. John looks to be about 19 years old or so. He looks rather young.
-
it took a moment for drakel to recognize the man, “John Emerson” he said aloud as he gave the tall man a friendly hug “havent seen you in years, since the whole deal with the Fallisins” John was an old informant, part of the Egela’s information network, he and drakel had worked together in the past, he was a good man to be sure, and exclent and finding out things people want to keep hidden “as for the girl” he said pointing to the wolf close behind him, “she gave me some information on someone iv been after, so im helping her out, tit for tat and all that”
-
“So. Where you headed? I’m making my way back to up town for a little. Before my next job comes in.” John says as he stands idly. And looks around for a second. Before returning his attention to Drakel.
-
“We’re going to Rivers.” Sonara announced, beginning to walk in that direction. “I’m Sonara, by the way.”
-
John smiles warmly, with a bit of nervousness. John felt he’d been rude. He did feel he was a bit rude. There were a few mechanical noises from his lower body exoskeleton as he extends his hand to her. “I’m John.” He says genuinely. “Nice to meet you.”
-
“Yes, yes, now we know each other and that’s great can we go now?” Sonara said shaking his hand and turning away, tail flicking. “I need to figure something out, and to do so I have to get to Rivers,” she called apologetically, “So if you plan on getting acquainted try to keep up, kay?” She then took off in the direction of Rivers.
-
“rude little vixen isnt she” Drakel laughed at his own joke “you comeing jhon? or shall we catch up later”
-
“Not a fox!” Sonara yelled back, catching Drakel’s comment.
-
“Aw damn.” John runs after them. Humans have good endurance. Better then most animals. And John made sure to run a lot when he could walk. So he ran after them to catch up with them. Having an exoskeleton to help you carry your stuff helped as he strived to catch up. “I’m comin’! Wait up!” John says running after them.
-
Within fifteen minutes, Sonara had run the three miles to Rivers. She stood in front of an old mansion, waiting rather impatiently for the other two to catch up. Drakel had been on her heels the whole time, and came running up to the “abandoned” mansion with a fair amount of speed. The human caught up as well, a little out of breath.
“Come on, this is the place,” she ordered, stepping onto the path and motioning to do the same.((as soon as they step on the path they will see the real mansion, well kept–and populated with a number of odd-looking Haerich (odd looking like her). also are they shifters? or just stuck forever in-between to species?))
-
John caught up about a minute later.Panting as he slowed to a walk. He didn’t pause much after and simply kept walking his heart racing until he stood in front of the abandoned mansion and looked up at it. “What is this place?” John asked as she said that, walking up next to her with his fists on his hips as he caught his breath.
-
“This is a paradise and a haven for the ones like me,” she said, nodding to a boy with wings–two sets of them, “the ones who don’t remember anything about themselves. The ones who Reboot.” The way Sonara said it made it sound like a name.
