Group Description
At the end of a disaster that wiped out nearly all of mankind, two species emerge from the shadows, one of fire, the other of ice. They they have begun a conversion of the remaining humans, creating the firekin and the cold ones. These humans-turned-nonhumans are even greater than their creators, but have been caught up in the war just the same. One, the great Enigma, is on a quest to stop the war by taking as many humans, firekin, and cold ones as she can and teaching them to live, fight, and hope together. She hunts those who are broken and afraid, and she takes them, whether they like it or not. You live in this world, and you are trying to survive….

“Well, it was a city. They’re houses, not just any old buildings.” she leaned against the wall. “So. Why are you here?”
-
There is a cold one here, amongst a number of firekin. I thought it implausible that one of my kind would enter into such a situation willingly “
-
A smile. “Well, interestingly enough, he is here willingly. You could stay too. Well, I use ‘stay’ rather loosely.”
-
“…..is that so?” Damien calmly shifted his weight onto his back foot “and why would I do that?”
-
*Layla read a book in her bedroom that was semi messy and small* (Where can I jump in dude? XD)
-
“Don’t you want to know what peace was like?” she asked. “I remember peace. I want peace again. Prove the world that firekin and cold ones can coexist.”
-
(How can I interact with you guys?)
*Layla slips on her navy jacket and starts to head outside*
-
Coexist? Us beings? HAHAHAHAHAHA! Thats a good joke. Tell me another!” Damien smiled broadly “no , girl. That will not happen unless something forces them to.”

Leto is a nomadic type of person, constantly moving through areas and finding herself different situations, however she didn’t run into others often, at least not that she remembered, or that she had recorded in her notebook. So upon hearing the discourse the human almost stopped and listened to her logic. Almost. What she actually did was try to get as close as she possibly could to hear more, to learn. Maybe she would find out why there weren’t many other humans running around. Maybe. she took a seat on a nearby rock with a pen and started to transcribe what she was hearing onto the pages of her notebook.. “This is very peculiar.”
((I tried, sorry. -ace

Darkness chased out the receding light of sunset, making the oranges and reds dip below the west skyline into nothing with the dragging minutes that went by. Firekin briskly made their way home, being indiscreet about their haste as the torches flamed up in street lamps to set the cobblestone town aglow. By the time twilight had come the place was like a ghost town–as it should. Wasn’t it appropriate for the bearers of light to only be a little afraid of darkness, as cold-kin, unfeeling and cold a little afraid of the warm light? But there was some exceptions to this rule, where some daring firekin went against the majority of society and stole away specifically at night. Mostly teenagers with parents who did not care or people who were looking for something they’d never find. Blaise wasn’t sure which one of those she was, or both, because she’d never really feared the night. Nor did she seek it. It just caught her at inconvenient times when she was heading home late from something or when she looked for cold ones and stayed out until morning. Blaise moved slowly now, dragging her feet as she was not interested at all in seeing her father’s brutal mixed expression. Disappointment. Anger–at her, and the half-breed,–Wonder and interest would follow…and then the worst. Excitement. He’d be excited to see this abomination-goddess just as she hadn’t. And then he’d gather his troops and go in search of this girl with gold eyes and white hair, and leave Blaise promptly behind as if she were some stupid house wife. “Dammit, Pyralis, I hate it! I really do!” Pyralis’ voice sounded rusty in its sheath. “Partner, we haven’t got this under control. Be an adult and do the right thing.” But she didn’t want to. She’d rather let the creature do what it wanted before getting left behind with the assumption she was scared or weak. “Shit.” She spat the word like it was venom, dragging her fingers through her red locks. All of them had little slices of lighter skin–scars from previous battles and scrimmages. Her hands, unlike her mother’s, were not soft to touch. They were rough with callouses she earned from Pyralis, knuckles a bit wide where she’d punched too many things and broken her hand several times. These were the hands of a warrior. And these hands shook. “You’re right. Dammit, you’re right. We’ll have to do just that.”

‘Ah, only a few. You’d be surprised at how many people are sick of this war. Most of you were human once- can’t you take that as something like common ground?” she massaged her temple, feeling a headache coming on. “This was never our war in the first place.”
-
Leto listened to this as she scribed this, she had been unaware of any war or things like that. Then she noticed, the woman rubbing her temples as if it were sore. Leto opened her bag pulling out a bottle of aspirin, and a water canteen….’ this might be a bad idea….. but help is a good thing’ so she took a breathe and left her hiding walking to Eni, she set the pill bottle and canteen on the ground at her feet.
” As you were” She said before walking back to her not-so-hiding,hiding spot.
-
Eni took the aspirin and water. “Thanks?” she called after the human, folding her wings tighter. Then she popped it open and took half the recommended mouth, the tiniest sip of water, and set the rest on the ground again. “See? There are even still unturned humans around.”
-
“…..you do realise shes spying on us?…and common ground has nothing to do with this war anymore….we made it our war, whether you like it or not. Humans have a habit of doing that”
-
“Yeah but-” Eni broke off, they were talking in circles. “Look, I don’t really have time to argue this out with you right now. Plus, I noticed the moment she came within a mile of this place. Humans are a bit rare, and her spying won’t do much against me- even if she was working for someone. The pills were definitely aspirin, there were no drugs in the water, so you see, she is not a threat to me. She’s probably one of the ones that’s been living under a rock and knows nothing about the conversions.” Eni walked inside. “Ta,” she said, waving behind her and then barking orders at the few people moving about inside. Except Nuri, of course- Nuri didn’t respect her, and she still didn’t understand why an original had allowed himself to be captured. She knew better than to trust him, though, even if he was ‘sleeping’.
