he dashes toward his shed and then his excited side faded and turned apathetic. He got to his shack huffing and puffing, though he was relieved to find a pickaxe and some other junk through sneaking in peoples houses. It was wrong but rewarding he got a circle bracelet like thing a few days ago though it’s broken and he has no idea what it does anyways wait that house looked familiar did I… he thought he lost track he’s been out for so long it was one of his longer loot trips like a week but at least he would survive for a while. However the pickaxe was what he needed the search was finally done he pulled a hidden lever and a trapdoor opened he went down below his shack to the reason he built it here jewels. No seriously there was an abandoned mine and all sorts of diamonds, gold, and other precious metals and gems if he could mine it he would be rich but not right now he’s tired so he got some bacon he found and shot fire at it enough to crisp then he ate “rest then rich”.

Her? What are… Turning around in confusion Ava remembers the limp body of what used to be that human’s mother is still lying on the ground next to her. Ohhhhhh. Great now I have to deal with /that/. “Oh fuck. Now this?!” In a quick movement she wills the snow to cover the body. When she is done it blends in with the white country side. “That will hold her if she wakes up. But I doubt she will. Oh and I added a little something to keep off nosy firekin and humans.” Dusting off her hands Ava turns back to Isen. “Well then. Lets go find this Kane!”

*Isen smiles and starts making his way towards the town, he walks neither fast nor slowly; taking his time to be a part of the world he’s passing by.*

Kane sat in his little, partially destroyed house playing with his soup but not really eating it. Demetrius left. He knew that his friend did this for the safety of his colony, but they weren’t safe. He knew what it meant when Demetrius left, and the plan was already in place.

He heard a loud noise and the ground shook slightly. “Shit” he said. He wanted to leave, but that wouldn’t be right. He couldn’t leave yet. He wasn’t sure if he would ever leave. He knew the answer but refused to accept it.

The plan was in motion, it’s going to be all right. The words were the only thing to keep his mind at ease. He knew the truth would make him fail.

    “It’ll be okay, it’ll be okay…”

“You move like a old man. Can’t we go any faster than this?! I don’t want to give that damn human anymore of a head start than he already has! The sooner we get back on his trail the better!”

*Isen stops and smiles at Ava* You want faster? *he hasn’t ever being called an old man before. He begins running and then leaps forward producing an ice path in front of him as he does so. He begins picking up speed.*

With a shriek of enjoyment she follows after him. Speeding up, Ava passes him. “Come on slowpoke! Last one there is a moldy monkey!”

*Isen leans forward, making himself streamlined, faster. Laughing at her snow horse he moves ahead*

“Oh no you don’t!” Leaning down on her mount’s neck, she creates a tailwind behind her increasing her speed so that she an Isen were once again level with each other. “Come on infant! Don’t let a old woman like my self beat you!” Once again Ava pulls ahead as the tailwind increases her speed.

*Isen makes the ramp curve upwards slightly, catapulting him into the air; when he begins to fall he makes another curving ramp which flings him faster and further forwards. It isn’t long until he has passed Ava.

When they reach the town he reduces the gradient on the paths till he slows to a halt.

    Time for some Dinner.*

Pulling up next to him she asks “Why do you even bother?! I mean its just such a human trait. You don’t need to you know.” Still she follows him inside as he head towards a building.

Look around you, these people /hate/ us. They really do. We steal their children, their friends and their family, we are the monsters hiding under their beds. When we arrive we bring fear and loathing from these creatures simply for not being the same. How are we meant to gain their trust if we try and be /those/ monsters.

The more we try and retain our humanity, the less frightened they’ll be so please, sit down, order and don’t make too much of a fuss.

“Humph” Despite being against it Ava sits down and orders a blueberry sherbet from a passing waiter. Turning back to Isen she becomes more and more stressed “It’s not like we had a choice in the matter ourselves. It was turn or die! And now our choice is /to/ /turn/ or die in this war against the fire creatures! None of us had a choice in the matter!”

*Isen orders a tea. He likes the quiet solace of tea; the way the milk patterns play through his drink. He once tried sugar but it made it too sweet, took away from the taste.*

They don’t care if we had no choice to become a Cold One, they care that we choose to turn others. That is our hypocrisy, when we are human we try our hardest to be nothing else yet when we become Cold we try our hardest to make other people like us. We force others into a life we ourselves rejected and we do so without thinking.

    That’s what scares them.

The inevitability of a choice they can’t make.

Shaking her head at him “You are a freaking British philosopher. I am sure the humans all love to listen to you bitch away.” As she tucks into her sherbet she adds softly “I wouldn’t know”
