Five o’ six and people were just now beginning to enter the club, even though it had been open since three. It was always this way, Alphas and betas had jobs to attend to during the earlier part of the day, and a room of only omegas would not be a comfortable place for anyone involved. Everley crossed her legs and made herself small as she watched the people enter. Alphas, swaggering in with the confidence befitting their caste, tossing their jackets to the beta bouncer and then sauntering to the bar to order a glass of even more confidence. Betas, a few of them acting just as haughty provided an alpha wasn’t nearby, entering with the slight limp and shadowed faces that told of their tiring day jobs. They occasionally nodded to one another, acknowledging their rivals. And the omegas who were trying very, very hard to slip into the club without drawing any attention to themselves. They tiptoed their way past the bar and immediately sought out places to sit quietly. Everly had come a little early, trusting her animals would be ok alone for a few minutes before her parents returned, in order to ensure a good seat. And she had found one, the window seat across the room from the bar, where she could easily avoid eye contact whilst still being plenty visible. “tea, little one?” a plump middle aged beta waitress was standing right in front of her now, pushing an over-flowing beverage cart. “no, thank you madam.” the tiny omega respectfully shrank even further into herself and averted her eyes. The waitress only hummed affectionately and kept walking. Once she was gone, Everly perked up a bit and turned to the window to watch the people arriving, running her hands over her braid nervously.

Karl walked into the establishment. He was exhausted from filming all day but he was not going to let that show. He strode confidently across the room, taking time only to give a few glances here and there. He knew better than to keep such an important “friend” like Gregory Taylor waiting. Taylor had on more than one occasion hooked Karl up with very well paying roles and with the current movie he was shooting being almost done, He could really use another recommendation. As Karl went into the Alpha’s lounge, he made sure he was wearing his most charming smile. The Alpha’s lounge was the most well furnished room in the joint, and sitting in a chair that was more like a throne was Gregory Taylor. Gregory was surrounded by a couple of beta females. There was only two ways a beta could hope to get into the alpha lounge. They either had to be staff serving the alphas or get a personal invitation from Gregory himself. Gregory’s eyes lit up when he saw Karl. “Karl, my boy! It has been too long! Come here. One of these fine ladies will fetch you a seat.” Taylor nodded at one of the betas and a few moments later she arrived with a chair. Karl took it and sat across from Taylor. Taylor was wearing an even more friendly smile than Karl. Even though Karl thought of him more as a means for work, he still had to admit, he had a soft spot for that man’s persona. Taylor had a way of making everyone feel welcome in their respective classes. He had to. This establishment wouldn’t survive if the usual tension was at full strength. “Tell me Karl, where on earth have you been? I’d thought you had fallen off the face of the earth.” Gregory said. Karl laughed. “Filming has been eating up most of my time. I promise, old friend, I will try to come by here more often.” Gregory smiled. “Be sure that you do! None of these other alphas know how to be as good of a drinking partner as you” Gregory said while laughing. A staff member brought over a bottle of red wine. “I am afraid I cannot drink that much tonight Greg. I am shooting the final scene of my movie when I leave.” Gregory poured himself a glass. “Ah, that is fine. I cannot wait to see it. You are always so great in your movies. It is like you become the character!” Karl laughed again. “Please. You flatter me. Shame the movie is almost over. I have been having a blast with it.” Gregory was looking off as he drank his glass. “You know Karl, I think I remember another friend of mine saying that he needed an actor for a role. It is very well paying. I will see what I can do.” Karl’s smile became more real. “Thank you. That would be wonderful.” Gregory gave a playful glare. “Just don’t get lazy in stopping by this time!” Karl chuckled. “I promise Greg.” The two men laughed, talked, and drank for a while. Eventually Karl managed to get himself away from Gregory. He slipped out of the Alpha lounge and sat at the far end of the bar. He had a few more other contacts to check on before the night was done.

Trace shuffled slowly into the club, fixing the collar of her dress shirt as she tried to find a less crowded area to lounge about in. Honestly, she would not have been here at all; wasn’t her style, nor anywhere she would see herself being in. Unfortunately, it was her parents who made her come here, mostly in hopes she’d find someone to settle down with… Such a believable cover-up, did Trace not know that it was purely for the fact that they wanted her to stop her scholarly work. Oh well, she already spent the money, why not just hang around and make idle chit-chat?
Trace found a nice little booth in the corner and took her seat, ordering a small glass of water. She wasn’t too keen on any alcoholic beverages, never was, and never will be. So she just watched the hustle and bustle of the club, wondering if anyone might even notice the beta in the corner.

Probably not, which is good on her part.

Rylie walked into the club with her head held high and headed straight to the bar. She was wearing a dark green fitted satin dress, showing just the right amount of cleavage and tall black heels. She had a bad day at work today and needed to get her mind off of it. She sat down at a stool and motioned to the male beta who was tending the bar. He came right over and asked, “What would you like, ma’am?”

    “I’ll have a scotch, neat.”

She sat at the bar for a few minutes staring into her drink, ignoring the fact that she was surrounded by others who would probably love her company. She downed the drink and ordered another, which she picked up and brought with her to the Alpha room. She sat down in a chair that didn’t have too many people around her. It was her first time at the club, and she didn’t know too many people outside of her field. She sat and savored her drink this time and observed the others around her.

Tristan let out a low hiss from the sidewalk as he looked up at the country club’s sign, checking to make sure this was the right place. Under normal circumstances, there was no way he would ever even go into an establishment like this but he after a long day of school, he desperately wanted a place to relax and decompress before starting the long commute home to his apartment. His younger sister, unbeknownst to him, had saved up her money to give him a membership to the Gray Wolf Club as a birthday gift for just such a purpose. Although this place wasn’t his scene at all, the Beta was loathe to waste money. After all, it couldn’t be too bad.

Letting out another sigh, he sauntered into the club and cast a gaze carefully calculated to appear casual, around the room checking to see if the patronage was comprised of mostly Alphas or Omegas. Tristan shot the barkeep a sympathetic look as he took a seat and ordered a drink, intending to take it and retreat into a quiet, secluded booth. Having to work with Alphas so closely for such an extended period of time must be agonizingly stressful. Just the thought set his own teeth on edge. while he waited, the Beta glanced at the menu behind the bar counter, contemplating on getting an order of snack to enjoy while he drank.

Rylie spent most of her day dealing with other Alphas at her job. All she was reminded of was the competitive bickering she sees at her job on a daily basis between all the Alphas who were arguing to get their way. She was just as guilty, but she didn’t need that tonight. She picked up her drink and headed back to the bar. Maybe she could make some regular conversation with a little less ego flying all around the room. She’ll have to try her best to tone down her own. It was easy to tell who belonged to what group though. She sat down on the same stool. The bartender started heading back over to her but she held her hand up, “Oh, no. I’m fine. But…thank you.”

It was easy talking to patients and their family’s. You told them what they needed to know and you got out. Small talk was never a strong trait of hers.

Kiara walked inside, having a slight feeling of courage just for coming here on her own. She couldn’t help but fiddle with her dress a bit, becoming nervous from the amount of people that were around. She noticed an empty stool at the bar, making a faint smile appear on her face when she saw it, and proceeded to walk over to take it. She knew she would be surrounded mostly by Betas and Omegas, with the occasional Alpha walking in and going into the Alpha room, but it didn’t mean that she came here to attract any attention. She barely talked, only doing so when it was necessary and those times she would have a soft tone. A soft sigh escaped her lips until she noticed the bartender walking up to her, “Anything I could get you, miss?” Kiara thought for a moment before leaning forward so the bartender could hear her, “Can I get just a soda, please?” The bartender blinked for a moment, only to give her a smile afterward, “Coming right up, dear.” She watched him walk off to get her order. She didn’t know why exactly she came here on her own free will, but then she remembered when her landlord offered her to go to the Grey Wolf Club since she needed to see new people instead of just working and going back to her apartment like she usually does. She only hoped that she wouldn’t attract any attention to any Alphas around, not that she wouldn’t mind entirely.

“…so I said to her, ‘if you aren’t gonna satisfy me, maybe I’ll just have to wake up that little brother of yours down the hall.’ ”
“Heh, did you do it? The kid’s face would’ve been priceless.”
A gang of Alphas, probably just barely old enough to be allowed here, were making very loud conversation in the center of the room, their ties undone and feet resting on the expensive mahogany coffee tables. Most of those frat boy types avoided this place, opting for cruder environments. But there were always exceptions.
“Nah, let’s just say the bitch was feeling a bit more generous after that.”
The crew laughed and began enthusiastically slamming their beer glasses together before chugging them down and demanding that a passing waitress get them more.
Everley clenched her fists in the hem of her dress and tried not to listen, she would have dearly liked to walk over and knock all of their teeth out right now. Though of course a tiny omega like her had a better chance of sprouting wings than ever actually doing that. She could clean dried milk from a sleeping kitten’s face without waking it up, but to give an Alpha so much as a papercut, impossible.
“Could’ve done it anyway though. I swear you could smell that boy’s heat from the front door.”
“Already? At 11 years? What a freak!”

Trace scoffed at what tid-bit she heard from the group, shaking her head in disappointment. Had she the body strength, or even the haughtiness, she’d give ’em a what for. Honestly, had no one any sort of shame? Or a sliver of conscience? Either or would probably help them in the long-run… The chance might be slim, though.
After a while, Trace’s little booth became occupied with other betas, and she soon began to make idle, quiet conversation. Mostly the news, the weather… Hey, how’s your parents? How’s your job going? That old rag.
“So, how’s the scholary work treating you?”
“Hm? Oh, coming along finely. A few months, give or take, I might be able to run a florist shop. Maybe become a teacher, and—… Oi, the smell of heat is killing me.” Trace huffed, taking a sip of her water. “And the phermone spray is even worse… No offense to anyone who hears.”

Karl was very annoyed. Other alphas were rarely appreciative of their status. When he was cast out on the street as a child he was almost certain to die, if a family of omegas hadn’t taken pity on him. It was unheard of that omegas would be living together, but these were considered undesirable. They only had each other. They should’ve hated him. He was the literal embodiment of everything that hated them. Instead they showed him kindness. Over time he gained a great respect for omegas. Whenever an alpha smiled, it had a purpose. Whenever an omega smiled, it was genuine. There was no motive, no reason, just happiness. Still after all that he had learned, Karl found himself being a typical alpha. Fake smiles, agendas, and living life just for gain. He didn’t dwell on these thoughts too much. He knew it was pointless. It was in his blood. He was an alpha. This is who he was. However, being an alpha did not give an excuse for behavior like that. Karl stood up and walked over to the two other alphas near by. “Excuse me gentlemen, but some of us are trying to enjoy our drinks. Keep your talks of your ‘escapades’ down or I will have you thrown out of the establishment” Karl said, adding only just a hint of hostility to his voice. Normally exchanges between alphas could get very messy, but Karl had a name for himself around here. Even if you won a fight against him, it was doubtful that you would leave the club walking. The alphas recognizing him, started mumbling a response. Karl didn’t want to hear it. He walked away before the stumbling alphas could finish. Sat back down at his seat and ordered a drink.

Kiara frowned as she watched what was happening between the alphas, not having expected to see such a thing in the club. She was new to all of this, but she wasn’t expecting a couple of alphas to behave like that. She only stayed quiet from her spot, taking the cup of soda and began to drink it quietly. She felt scared being around alphas, even though she wasn’t even near them, but just watching their behavior made her feel frightened. She turned around so she was facing the bar and not attract any attention whatsoever.

The bantering and bragging of the juvenile Alphas nearly gave Tristan a heart-attack as he struggled to keep from rising up off of his bar stool and giving those Alphas a piece of his mind and preferably a drink in the face. Getting up into the face of even one Alpha was dangerous, nerve-racking and fool-hardy enough, but taking on an entire crew would was hopeless, as he knew from experience. If they didn’t laugh him back into his place as a subordinate Beta, he’d have the crap beaten out of him. Or worse. The barkeep handed him his drink, a 7 and 7, which he took some quick drinks from to keep from cussing them out. He could feel waves of heat emanating from his cheeks as he flushed with anger and tried not to spit out some of his drink as one of the Alphas recounted his tale of depravity and coercion to his appreciative cronies.

Placing his drink down on the counter, he let out a sigh and swore under his breath. His sister was going to be so disappointed in him when he returned home all banged up from yet another scuffle. But a broken arm or even a hospital visit would be better than just sitting quietly like an Omega. At least at the end of the day he’d be able to look himself in the face without shame. Tristan’s hands shook with fear as he pushed himself up shakily and turned to the gang of Alphas but to his relief a different Alpha was striding confidently towards the ruffians and chastised them. It wasn’t quite the chewing out they deserved. In typical Alpha fashion, the older Alpha seemed more concerned with his peace being disrupted then the actual content of their bragging, but at least it didn’t seem like he’d have to interfere. Letting out a near silent sigh of relief, Tristan decided to grab his drink and head for a booth like planned instead of awkwardly sitting back down and drawing attention to himself. That was close, he thought to himself.

Why do I have to this? Ashen asked herself as she stood in the entryway to the club. Couldn’t I just turn around right this instant and go for a nice cup of green tea at home? Surely Em wouldn’t begrudge me that. I mean come on-I am not even a social person! What does she expect from me?! But I promised her I would check this place out just to appease her. And I keep my promises, despite how stupid they are. Oh how did I get myself pulled into this?
Checking in her coat, she keeps her computer case with her. Well if i am to waste my evening here at least i can get some work done. I still have to finish reviewing those applications…
Tapping the nearest waiter on the shoulder Ashen asks him to get her a table. “Could you get me a table please?” Noticing a group of rowdy Alphas heading into another area of the club, she adds. “A quiet table. And perhaps a pot of tea?” As she is led to a table on the edge of the room she gives him a thank you before becoming immersed in her work. Ignoring the other members she opens her laptop and pulls up several documents.

His eyes scanned across the throngs of people, and he heaved a great sigh. Lumin Trivette was half-tempted to spin around and walk out; the environment was active, loud, and frankly quite frightening. The prospect of disappointing Bianca, however, was also quite frightening, and so the beta steeled himself and trod forth. His coworker had been all too happy to lend him her membership upon casual inquiry; the trap had clearly been set beforehand.
He honestly did not know what she was expecting, the beta was likely to find a (somewhat) quiet spot and spend the rest of the night being sweaty and miserable. A summary, in the least. Heavy waves of scent were clashing about, creating a choking effect. Lumin was certainly a contributor, clammy as he was. Every accidental bump came with a wave of nerves and profuse apologies. He needed to find someplace to plop down and caffeinate himself.
The florist tiptoed past of group of raucous alphas, staring determinedly at the ground. Their conversation had been sickening. Disgusting, revolting, nauseating, and the legal system was far too biased to hold sanction for such acts. Another Alpha approached. The door beckoned.
It was curiosity that kept him rooted. The conversation had been brisk, and all too effectual. Lumin watched in awe as the ornate man walked off somewhere.

Banal, he pulled up a chair and pretended to fiddle with his phone.

Rylie heard the alphas talking and the rage within her started to build up. Not today, she didn’t need to hear this shit today. She saw Karl, walk over to them and tell them to stop with their behavior. She had met him a few times at some of her father’s lavish parties. He liked to show off his alpha daughter. Respected alphas needed to be careful about how they acted around one another, and Karl seemed to know how to suppress his aggressive instincts.

Once Karl walked away though, they kept talking. In more of a hushed tone so not everyone could hear. They’re young and reckless and love to take risks. Typical young alphas. She kept her eye on them for a few more minutes. Though they kept their voices low, the cocky smiles were still strewn across their faces. One of the omegas accidentally made eye contact with one of them so he proceeded to make a crude gesture at her.

That was the breaking point. Rylie grabbed her drink and walked over to the group, making sure she had a sexy smile and was swaying her hips in an inviting way. She didn’t want to give away her intentions.

“Hello, boys”, she said as she slid into the booth with them. They looked at her a little surprised at first, but allowed her to join them when they realized what she was. They sat their and made some small talk with her for a minute or so while they puffed out their chests and acted like the big men that they weren’t yet. She may have been an alpha, but she was a female alpha and many male alphas often still looked down upon them.

“So, I heard what you were all talking about before” Rylie said trying her best to still sound a bit impressed. The cocky smiles came back. “I’d like to tell you about my day”, continued Rylie, “I often work with omegas.” The gang gave a disgusted look. “Oh, not labor-wise or anything. I’m a neurosurgeon if you weren’t aware already of who I was. I usually work with them to keep them alive.” The guys started to get the feeling that Rylie wasn’t there to befriend them.

“Today I had to perform emergency surgery on a young boy, an omega. Poor boy was going through heat for the first time. He was probably rushing home from school so he could keep himself secluded from everyone on the outside. He was only 13.”

“Turns out it wasn’t his lucky day though. A group of alphas just like you found him and were quite attracted to the scent. They started pushing him around and were trying to drag him to an ally somewhere. A few witnesses saw, but I believe most of them were also omegas.”

“When the boy bit one of the alphas in a sad attempt to try and get away, his attacker became infuriated and decided to bash his head in. He was rushed to the hospital where I work where I then had to try and fix the massive amounts of damage to his brain. He died on my operating table.”

“I suggest you watch how you act and what you say, especially in a nice place like this club. These people come here to feel safe, not to be intimidated by a bunch of young fools who wouldn’t even know what to do with an omega if they claimed one for himself. I suggest you leave if you don’t know how to act.”

“Have a nice day, boys” she said as she slid out of their booth noticing their infuriated faces and started to walk away. She kept herself on guard in case they decided to retaliate against her words. It probably wasn’t the best idea to call them out directly, but she couldn’t help herself.
