She jumped back a bit, seeing knife before pulling out her gun. “Unarm yourself, whipping a knife on me when I just touched you. What are you scared of?” She asked, leaning into his face with her glare.
-
“Well you know the fact that you have been following me for the past 6 blocks can put a guy on nerve.” He put strain on the word ‘following’ “In my life, I have learned to watch my back. And you are to close for comfort.”
-
“My apologies, sir, but a recent murder has happen. Perhaps you know something of it?” She asked, raising a brow. “I have never seen someone wear a trench coat on nice days such as these. Please, perhaps I can buy you some coffee?” She asked. “At least to apologies for following you. I really hate making a bad impression on people, you see,”
-
“Put your weapon up first. And call off your bird.” He said motioning to the owl in the tree.
-
“After you.” She said, but slowly placed her weapon away, flicking her fingers to the tree and Dwyer flew off into the sky, circling higher and higher up. “Put your weapon away.” She repeated, looking up at him.
-
Garmoniya swung the knife in a series of fanciful twists and pocketed the weapon. “Now, what is this of a murder? If I am not mistaken, you are a gang member, this should be normal for you.”
-
“It isn’t. We’ve sectioned ourselves farther from where our main gang is, on the otherside of town.” She said simply, her face remaining expressionless this whole time. “We do not have many murders, anymore here. It makes me wonder if someone perhaps was targeted, but logic fights that as neither my mother or I was killed.” She said, and looked up as a rain drop hit her forehead followed by another. “It is beginning to rain…That coffee shop I mentioned earlier..”
-
Garmoniya looked up into the sky to see dark clouds forming over head “Alright.” He said still skeptical.
-
“Here,” She pointed into an alley way, littered with small bits of trash and was dark. “I do not wish to catch a cold, hurry.” She said, moving into the alley way before him, just to make him feel more comfortable.
-
“Why the ally way?” Garmoniya asked, unmoving, questioning whether or not he could trust the woman.
-
“It is faster. Either this way or we will have to walk around the whole block.” She said, her shirt soaked through already and her hair sticking to her temples. “As I said before, I don’t wish to catch a cold.” She titled her head at his suspicious look before pulling her gun out and giving it to him, the butt of it facing him. “There, a gun. I highly doubt you do not already have one on you, but perhaps this one will make you feel secure, yes? You are equal to my size but a man with greater strength and with a gun. Do you still have anything to fear?”
-
Garmoniya looked at the gun and flicked on the safety. He twirled the inside of the trigger guard on his finger and slid it into a pocket in his coat. “I trust you for now. Do not try anything.”
-
“You’re not very kind to a woman offering you coffee.” She remarked, leading him into the alley with no fear evident in her eyes. Though they occasionally burned bright it almost seemed as though she had no emotions. “What would you like?” She asked tonelessly as usual as they emerged from the other side of the alley right across the street from the mom and pop coffee shop.
-
“I am not kind to anyone. One might betray you in an instant, robbing you blind of your life. Or someone else’s. I have my reasons.” He said ad he stared at the shop.
-
“Still, a bit of gratitude would not hurt.” She said, looking both ways before jay-walking across the street. She took the oppertuinity to get a proper look at him under the street lights of town, ginger hair like her own–not much taller than her, either. The same height in fact. She looked away discreetly before he could notice, opening the door for him to go into the shop. “After you. Please do not cause a scene.”
