Vorgun tried to explain his planets culture to the little children before him, “well lussi are mmy racess caretakerss… mmy lussuss iss a crawfissh. Sso jusst immaginne a giannt white lobsster with violet blood…the samme color ass mminne. All of mmy race hass differennt colored blood, annd mmy blood color mmakess mme royalty. You ssee trollss are pretty differennt fromm hummannss, annd esssspecially a ssea dweller like mme.” He lifted up his shirt to reveal he had gills on his lower torso and a dorsal fine lining his spine. Just like other trolls he had no nipples, only his vestigial grub scars on the sides of his ribs. “Ssee thesse here were where i ussed to have legss. the fronnt two turnned innto mmy armmss annd the bottomm two turnned innto mmy legss, but the middle two jusst grew away. Mmy kinnd hatch from eggs annd whenn we do we jusst look like little grubss with our head lookinng like how it does nnow annd our body beinng our blood color. Comme onn nnow you two were almmosst there.” Vorgun turned and walked towards the circus as oliver and mirabelle followed behind him.
-
Tas climbed to the roof again, where the uuuh…. thing of Mirabelle’s stood, stopping once she stood in front of it.
“Alright, you might as well take me back to that little girl,” she says with a sigh.
-
Oliver listened quietly, his brown eyes wide with wonder. “That sounds cool…” He said quietly, before the corners of his mouth turned down in a confused frown. “Um… Why does your blood color make you royalty…?”
-
Vorgun frowned at olivers question. “Imm nnot ssure actually. Itss jusst always beenn that way…the highbloodss like mme have jusst alwayss beenn stronnger thann the lobloodss. Onn mmy plannet the highbloodss took care of the lowbloodss.” He looks away as his frown worsens. “I didnnt do a very good job at protectinng themm…”
-
Oliver blinked, then let go of the girl’s hand so that he could walk up to the horned man, tugging on the hem of his shirt. “What happened…?” He asked, not realizing it might be a painful question.
-
The armor slumped forward a bit with it’s neck open as insects are flying into it. It then looks at Tas. The insects leaving and ceasing. Then it picks her up around the waist again with one hand and jumps off with her jumping roof to roof in very large bounds. Mirabelle looks up as she guides the armor to her. “A friend is coming…” Mirabelle says lowly.
However, it becomes lethargic in movement eventually and takes smaller and smaller bounds. By the time it reaches the group landing on a rooftop, it is practically walking at times in between, it breathing extremely heavily. It walks to the edge of a roof top and jumps down landing in front of Vorgun 7 feet away, from 50 feet up suddenly with a heavy loud thud that cracks the ground a bit with it’s landing.
“It’s ok Oliver.” Mirabelle says to him in case it scares him, trying to keep the boy calm.. It stands upright, looking down at Vorgun, standing over even him as it drops Tas. It walks away disappearing into an alley. “Hi…” Mirabelle says shyly and lowly to Tas.
-
Oliver made a panicked sound of alarm and instantly hid behind Vorgun, who seemed like the only one that would be able to protect him. His small hands gripped onto the troll’s pants leg tightly, and he peeked around him at the scary… Thing that has just appeared.
-
“You have somme nnerve comminng back here werewolf…” Vorgun snapped eyeing tas as the large creature dropped her off. He whipped his mace out and took a fighting stance ready to defend oliver and mirabelle. “What do you wannt nnow?”
-
“No Vorgun!” Mirabelle once more runs past him and stands in between them. Holding her hands out at Vorgun gesturing “She didn’t do it on purpose. It’s not her fault. She had a monster in her and it came out. But I helped her and now she’s better!” Mirabelle says looking back at Tas for a split second then back at Vorgun.
“There is no need to fight…” She says trying to get him to be calm.
-
Oliver was still cling to Vorgun, and he had his eyes squeezed shut. He whimpered softly at all of the yelling, and his small body trembled.
-
Vorgun listened and put his mace away. “I sstill donnt trusst her” he grumbled as he sat on the ground scratching olivers ears. “Sso why did you comme back here thenn?” He looked to tas hoping to get some answers.
-
Oliver slowly relaxed as his ears were scratched, and he ended up crawling into Vorgun’s lap, staring up at the newcomer with wide, fearful eyes.
-
“Because, I’m leaving town and I figured I should pay the only person who didn’t actively try to kill me,” she said, narrowing her eyes pointedly at Vorgun whilst pulling out the ridiculous wad of cash, “for her troubles. Here’s a thousand, that should make us even?” she said. Then she addressed Vorgun directly. “And one more word of insult to me, troll, and you’ll find buckets hanging from your horns and pale relationships for the rest of your life.” After she finished speaking, she turned and continued walking.
-
Mirabelle looked at the woman in shock. Mirabelle thought about giving the money back as she stared at it in her hands. It was like a small fortune to someone her age. “Hey lady wait!” Mirabelle calls out out to her while she walks. Mirabelle runs up to her and hey looks up at her and tries to muster a smile “Thanks…” Mirabelle suddenly hugs Tas “And….good luck.” She let go of her and smiles subtly at her before she walks back to Vorgun and Oliver.
-
Tas nodded and walked away, calling behind her, “Of you see a guy who looks about 18, looks like me, and calls himself Lies, don’t tell him where I went, okay?”
