Into The Woods (Chapter 1.2)
-
Looking away from the birdbath and back to the forest “Just what I thought. Nothing.” Thomas said.
“Hmm…” Ingun questioned as he flipped through the book “There must be something here…”
Thomas took the book back “Well it’s obviously not enchanted. Unless we’re using the wrong phrase.” Thomas said with an annoyed tone.
“I guess we better return the book.” Ingun said with a laugh.
“Easy for you to say. I’m the one that has to sneak in.” He answered, turning around, and headed towards the school.
-
Goldmyth and Orsin walked in. Orsin rose his voice, “We were thinking of doing something for the Halloween Dnace…singing a song? Do you mind if we do that?”
Goldmyth nodded and messed with her hair.
-
Ms. Vine moved over to the desk, picking up a brown wooden box with viney carvings along it. “Your bracelet.” She cracked open the box’s lid to reveal the bangle mineral bracelet. “Here, this will restrain your powers when your emotions become too high. It is required you wear it during hours of school.” She put it back in the thin wood box before handing it over to the gold-haired girl. “And a song I hear of? I’d like to hear it first…I’m guessing you plan on performing it?”
-
Orsin wagged his little bear tail and smiled, “Yes! It’s going to be great! But, we haven’t practiced it yet. Could you give us like a day? Or even a few hours. We just have to change up the lyrics a little bit. Otherwise, we know it by heart.”
Goldmyth nodded and took the box.
-
“Yes, it shouldn’t be a problem so long as I can hear it. The dance is two weeks from now, so have it prepared for me before the week after next week. Okay?” Ms. Vine smiled, and pointed to the calander. “And remember, Goldmyth, Bracelet on Monday.” The blond looked at her stack of papers along the table. “Ah…more work…I have a celebration to plan for tonight…First bonded of twenty-fifteen.” She grinned. “I imagine for this event a nice boat ride to town would be nessicary.” She smiled, “Yes, yes, I do like the sound of that.” Almost as if forgetting her two students were even there Ms. Vine picked up her phone and dialed a number. “Uhh yes, Doyle? I was wondering if I could rent out a hall…”
~~~
A dark blur slicked below the surface of the water, emerging along the bank of the lake his feathers slightly ruffled. The small dragon shook his sopping wings before raising his temperature finally causing the water to go up in steam. A smoke filled sneeze caused his sight to blur a bit and slowly drifted landing on a shorter boy near the forest with a owl near his side. “Wizard…And familiar? Bonded, I presume?” He echoed out in a low voice, settling his wings along his side to watch the school. The light out was golden and lovely though it was quite deceivingly cold out, but brought nice color to the leaves that fell orange and yellow.
-
A blond girl with collided with the bear and Goldmyth as they pranced out happily. “Ugh, watch it would you?” She caught sight of Goldmyth’s eyes, and her own went into slits. “Oh..the first bonded, I see. Well congratulations.” “Congratulations!” Piped Pecan on her shoulder in a mocking tone. “I also understand you hang out with those nosy girls…Piper…and Liv…” Amanda said carefully, setting her orange nailed hands on her hips. “It’s to my understanding, then, that our first bonded is a troublemaker? Is that why you bonded so hastily with this new honey bear? Because you attend to tempt the beings of the forest to make an appearance? Really! Have you not heard of what happened with Stephanie? The monster Hates seeing bonded together…and what better prize than the first of the year?” She sneered, but it was clear she wanted to know.
-
Goldmyth put her hand on her chest and lunged back, “Well, someone is a bit grumpy today, oh!” Goldmyth smiled, “Is some one jelly??? ‘Cause you haven’t bonded yet! Live and Piper and really nice and you are just a no good-”
Orsin put his paw on her mouth and smiled, “Well, I guess that we should get going, nice talking to you!” Orsin started to walk and kindly rolled his eyes at the girl.
-
*Liv put her hands on the back of her head and closed her eyes driffting to sleep, Abilard fell asleep next to her as well*
-
“Not bonded? I bonded long last year!” Amanda laughed, and Pecan, caught up in a curtain of feathered hair cawed happily. “Last year!” The girl rolled her eyes, “Anyways, I’m coming through. Scuse me.” She shoved past the two into the office.
-
Thomas and Ingun entered the school through a side door to avoid being seen by a teacher. As they checked their surroundings, Ingun split off into another hallway and headed towards the other end of the school. Thomas quickly straightened his bag and took off towards his room.
-
Goldmyth turned around and yelled, “BITCH!”
Orsin jumped a little and quickly covered her mouth and walked a little fatser.
-
“Or I suppose you two could ignore me.” The reptile curled his feathered tail around his back and front clawed feet before opening his mouth widely to let out a yawn of small fire, his long forked tongue hanging out a bit as he did so. “So it would seem that is the connection a familiar and magic-enriched mortal has..” He rolled his shoulders, and stretched his wings. “I attend to get one of my own, a magic-enriched mortal..” Lonan thought before turning his liquid eyes toward the roof. His feathery wings were flapping before he knew it, scaling up the side of the brick wall.
~~
“I would be careful with that word, if I were you,” She threw over her shoulder with a cold glare. “I have a good way of making people disappear, you know,” A smile curled her lips as she slipped into the office, letting the door shut behind her with a clack.
~~
“Uh…Liiiiv~! Bunny-boy~! Good morning!” Piper called loudly with a small grin, “I am sorry, did I wake you? Come with me to the library! Pleaaase?” She flashed Liv the puppy eyes.
-
*Liv rubbed her eyes and looked over to Piper*”Uh, Aye, sure,” She nodded and got up and stretched a little. Abilard woke up and grumbled before hopping down from the bench*”Me nams Abilard lass.”
-
“Abeeelard.” She said his name in his accent as it was pronounced. “Nice to meet you Abilard.” Piper smiled and bent down to pet his ears, before looking over at Liv very seriously. “So, I was wondering about that…that forest.” The dark haired girl threw an arm to the right, her eyes focusing on the shadows and darkness the forest had to offer. Although, even with all the darkness and gloom she didn’t appear intimidated or afraid. Something to do with her dark magic, perhaps? “I thought we could do some research in the library about it. Y’know, they must keep records there one those woods or something. We may be able to find something on Stephanie Blanc.” The girl rambled.
