Welcome To The School Of Bonding! (Chapter 1)

Piper snapped her fingers. “That’s right, you were reading that shapeshifting book earlier. That’d be pretty cool to be a witch-shapershifter…except other shape shifters call you a fake, but I say if you can shift then do it.” She grinned lopsidedly. “Well, I suppose that would be the way to go. Unless you were doing shadow magic and light magic, the two would eventually get no where because of all that energy in one body…Aw, thank you Ace.” She smiled gratefully. “But my features are all a bit too dark with the hair and all. Its nice to have a pop of color.” She ranted, the girly-girl emerging in her again. “Besides, they also aid my seeing without having to wear bottle-thick glasses.” She chuckled as Ms. Claude led them up another flight of stairs.

Alchemy room, Destruction and sparring room (basically the gym), the swimming pool for water majors, the obstacle course for bonded (which some were actually going through the course and it did look a bit complicated…), basics of magic polishing up class, ‘what path to take’ class. They went through all of the rooms, popping in and saying hi to the all to bright teachers or ones who slumped around in dusty rooms barking at anyone who came near the threshold. By the time they’d gone through all the rooms and squeezed past oncoming groups in tight corridors…one student nearly falling off the tricky stairs that would at times go invisible just to mess with you…they finally came to the Auditurium around 12. “Alright, here you are, forms for every one to fill out what classes they want to be in. Please remember that if you see any classes you would be taking at a basic magic school feel free to take them here so you won’t have to do so later.” Forms of papers floated through the air to students rolled up as they filed down the rows in the auditoruium, where Ms. Vine was already up on the stage with a display of classes beside her and basics on what they did.
(Okay. So I’m going to actually make a ‘example of classes sheet’ but if anyone wants to make up classes to better suit your character’s course that’s 100% okay.)
-
Ace grabbed one of the class schedules and wrote Illusionary, Transfiguration,Ritual magic , Spellsinging,Circle magic and a Study Hall on it with a pen his father gave him, It wrote the most beautiful and perfect words and lines you could imagine. He then looked to Piper and the other two girls “So what are you guys taking?” he asked putting away his pen hoping no one would ask about it.
-
*Liv went over to the class schedule pile and took one and a pencil from the table near by, she wrote down Transfiguration, charms, potions etc, ritual magic, study hall. She looked up at ace,”Trensfiguration, cherms, potions etc, ritual magice, study hall.”
-
Aurora levitated the pen to write in “Ice breakers, spellsinging, study hall, and circle magic, and illusionary.” She wrote her name on it afterwards and where she came from since she really didn’t have a last name.

Piper struggled to keep her eyes on her own paper. It would be difficult, knowing she might not have the same classes as her friends for the first couple of semesters, but she was sure she would find people interested in the subject like her, so they would already have something in common. Using the lame, no eraser, pencil they’d given her she scrawled ‘Illusionary, Â Ritual Magic, Transfiguration, Potions ect, Circle magic, Â and charms.’ along with her name. She quickly creased her paper shut, as if sealing her fate. A circle that said ‘flick here’ at the bottom of her fold appeared and she flicked it. Red bled through the paper as she realized her finger was pricked. “Ow…” This school was so weird. The blood pooled and thickened to a red wax seal with the letter “P” stamped on it. With that, it sprouted wings and whisked away. “Charms, transfiguration, Illusionary Ritual magic…um…Oh, yeah, Circle magic and Potions.”
-
*Aaron grabbed a sheet and chicken scratched on it, his name and ,Illusionary, potions, ice breaker, charms. he sealed it and sent it off backing away from the torches his fur on end*
++++++++++++++++++++
*Liv wrote her name down and closed the paper, when her finger was pricked when she sent her class paper off. She gasped quietly before pressing her fingers together to clot the bleeding*
-
Goldmyth hops and writes down the things she needs to, “Yay!” Goldmyth hops again smiles at her braid.
-
“Oh that sounds fun I hope we will have some classes together.” Ace says with a small smile on his face. when he realized he was bleeding from his finger and the paper trying to fly out of his hands he let go “Oops sorry” he said with a slight chuckle
-
Piper giggled at Goldmyth and Ace. Rows of people began to string out of rows and pound up the stairs toward the breakfast room. Piper tightened her ponytail, watching with her contact eyes as a arctic fox ducked and dived around feet in her ascent up. “So, Goldmyth, what classses did you take?” She asked, standing with the rest of their row to go out in a line.
-
*Aaron stayed to the stairs as he bound up them, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to bond or not with someone,’Well your not getting any younger,’ He reasoned with himself,’One thing is for sure They can not have anything to do with that WRETCHED FIRE!’ He hissed in his mind as he glared at the torches, and continued on with a dead pan expression*
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
*Liv slipped on the stairs and almost fell but recovered and continued on*
-
“Careful, Liv.” Piper murmured as she followed closely behind.
~~
Aurora grapple up the last step, huffing. This was a school bonding but clearly no students respected familiars yet. “They’ll learn, when they get a familiar.” She growled, lowering her head to the grown before slinking to the edge of the hall and plopping down.
(Okay my lovely marshmellowy floods of happiness things. Time to start thinking about what characters will bond. So take interest in familiars and students. 🙂 )
-
Goldmyth shrugs, “I don’t really know. I like math and science and rock and meinerals!”
-
Ace followed the girls “Does anybody know what time it is?” he said looking at his phone and realizing it was dead and then chuckles a little “What time do we have to be back to our rooms, is there a curfew?”
-
“That totally fits you, Miss. Let Me Eat This Rock,” Piper grinned, tugging at her ponytail holder so her dark hair showered down around her. “Aaand…” She exchanged her hairband for her phone in her pocket. “It’s only like 1:30. We should do something, eat? Or maybe go into the lounge?” She straightened her hair out so it was sort of tousled more so on one shoulder now. “Or we could go bother Orthelo in the library’s store. I’m pretty interested in those paper cranes, they’re supposed to bring good luck.”
-
“Aye, A think it is 11:30, pure? (Really?) guid (good) luck?”
-
“Mhm,” She stopped in the hallway since they hadn’t really decided on where they were going yet. “Legend has it in Japan that if you fold or receive a thousand cranes good luck will be bestowed onto you…Good luck, recovery from an illness, or a healthy long life. So it’s kind of a thing for ill or injured people in hospitals to fold them in hope of recovery.” Her eyes glittered as she ‘taught’ them. “In Japan, Cranes are considered a pretty mystical creature, and in Japanese legends they’re noted for living a thousand years. Which is why for good luck there’s a thousand cranes–to symbolize each year.” She grinned, folding her arms. “Maybe we can send for oriental paper sometime and do some origami.”
~~
Off to the side of the hall Aurora listened into the conversation about the thousand cranes, noticing the new male member in the group of three. The polite, nice, Liv who’d picked up her sushi and the ruder girl who’d knocked them down. Piper was the one blathering her mouth off to probably something irrelevant, but the information was interesting since Aurora knew nothing of Japan.
