Welcome To The School Of Bonding! (Chapter 1)
-
“Crap, you okay?” He turned maneuvered himself to face her in the darkness, steadying her by the arms. “Careful down here, the roof is low and there might be potholes…” Concern was quite apparent in his voice and he shook his head, “Here. Give me your hand and follow where my feet go.” He moved all the stuff he had to his other arm and clasped his hand firmly around her. The werewolf was glad she couldn’t see his face in the darkness, as the expression came at the thought of how intimate this could be. “…We shouldn’t get separated down here with the ghosts.”Â
~~
“Very well done, Orsin, it appears you have calmed her to the point that she controlled her fear to the point of vanishing. If only all fears could be dealt so easily, but in a way your fears will be easier to deal with someone bonded to you.” Ms. Vine looked down at her beloved Genie who’s golden fur glinted in the candlelight, her dark eyes taking in the sight of bonding process. Who knows how many times they’d watched this familiar scene? “Goldmyth Commers, if you would please step into the center of the circle and prepare yourself to comfort Orsin in his time of need?”
-
Goldmyth clapped her hands and smiled, “Yes Ms. Vine!” She stepped the middle. Orsin stood up on two legs and looked around, “Oh…I’m gonna die.”
-
The fire wall blocked Orsin’s path to the circle, sealing his fear before him. “Goldmyth…See what he sees, understand his fear, and help him from it.” Ms. Vine held her breath at the sight…if she could not calm the familiar then all of her pain from before would be lost.
-
Rea smiled, and she was very glad for the darkness to cover her silly grin. “Yeah, wouldn’t want to get separated,” she said cheerfully. They walked into the barrier.
-
“Well, safe for now it seems.” He dropped her hand reluctantly, looking around the wide cavern. “Alright. Let’s get working.” He spread out the blanket and tossed the pillow on top, putting the snacks nearby.
-
Rea smiled again and set down the bags. “Yeah, safe. In here, at least.” she set down her bags and began laying the blankets on the floor. “So… do… you… ah, um, Do you have a girlfriend, Fang?” Faust! I really just asked him that!?
-
It was a man, with a gun. A hunting gun. Orsin went full on bear mode. He stood up and made some small roars, he didn’t talk at all. His hat and bowtie fell off. Goldmyth sighed, “Orsin, it’s fake, it won’t hurt you, the thing is just nothing, it’s messing with your mind, the thing is just a test, nothing is going to hurt you!” Goldmyth yelled and pulled her hair back. The man loaded his gun, Orsin freaked out and snarled. “ORSIN! IT’S JUST A TRICK!” The man pulled his gun down and looked at it, he turned around and pointed it at Orsin. Orsin growled and roared loudly. Â “Orsin, listen to me, if you want to bond, you have to stay calm, just stay calm.” Goldmyth had her worried face on. Orsin took a deep breath. “It’s just a trick, nothing will hurt you.” The man started to fade away, still pointing his gun at Orsin. “The person, or thing will go away, you are the best bear and the strongest bear, if he ever came near you…Mr. Orsin the golden bear will kill that guy with a swipe of your paw.” Goldmyth smiled. The man started to fade away, and soon, he was nothing but air.
-
“Nope.” Fang said immediately and tugged gently at one of the sacks of herbs over their heads, realizing what she said slowly. “Why do you ask?” He raised brow, digging in his pocket for a pack of red-hot gum. “Want a stick?” He held it out to her.
~~
“…Very well done.” It was clear, however, Orsin would be the strong-point between the bonded. That concerned Ms. Vine for later, but Goldmyth was able to complete the course, she was able to make his fear evaporate after a long stretch of time, leaving the fire path open to two ropes leading into the center of the circle. Ms. Vine knew, from personal experience, that once he stepped foot in the circle a vision–something she herself could not see–would occur while their auras melded together. Ms. Vine remembered her vision as a whirl and mixing of the most beautiful colors of her life, like the aurora lights swarmed around her with the sounds of nature. Birds, woodchucks, wolves howling, beautiful sounds.
However bonding was a different experience for everyone, but never something they would forget or experience again.
-
Orsin quickly smiled and slowly stepped inside the circle.
Goldmyth smiled, “Wanna gold hands or something?”
Orsin smiled and held her hands tightly, he nodded and smiled.
Goldmyth smiled and soon a blast of flowers and bright colors was the only thing she could see, lions, tigers and bears, oh my! She saw a whole bunch of fluffy animals and they were all gold colored. The trees, the world, the grass. And then it started to rain top hats and bow ties! They soon saw a sad dead forest, but then, like water, gold and other bright colors filled it up, a deer was covered in the bright colors. Orsin saw the same (now kids, don’t take drugs, ’cause this is what you might see).
Goldmyth opened her eyes, and Orsin opened his. “Oh. My. God. That was awesome!” Goldmyth jumped up and hugged Orsin tightly.
“Heh..kinda looked like if you were on drugs.” Orsin laughed and hugged back, he picked up his bow tie and hat, he put them on and winked, “I’m sooo happy now!”
-
“And lady’s and gentleman!” Her voice boomed across the hallways, all the rooms, to every crevice in the school over the unseen loud-speaker. “We have our first bonded of the year!” Though muffled, clapping could be heard throughout the whole school, and Ms. Vine snapped her fingers, causing the blue mist around her lips to fade, and the candles surronding the newly bonded to blow out with a swirl of smoke around the golden ones. “I am so very proud…Oh, Genie! Hold me!” Ms. Vine had tears running down her face though she smiled, and beckoned her familiar to leap into her arms. Genie did not hesitate for a moment, and wiped the tears away from her partner’s eyes. “Oh, Goldmyth! Orsin! The first bonded of twenty-fifteen! It is said those who bond first of the year are blessed to have a well-made relationship.” She took the hanckerchif Genie dug out of Ms. Vin’s pocket, and blew her nose. “Okay…I need to calm down. You two for the most part, as of today, will begin the main course of bonded training. That means you can have three other classes from the orignal list you chose from, but for the most part–as this is a school of binding–your energy and most of your grades will come from your progress with your bonded. Yes?” She cleared her throat, “After the first bonded others soon bond as well–dont ask me why, but once one bonds they all start popping up until late June! However, the first 1,000 to bond will be a part of the Early Bloomers Bonding Ceremony. 1,000 seems a lot, but in reality it will only take a month or so after the first bonded.” She cleared her throat, “Goldmyth, Orsin, understand that as being the first bonded of this year other students of your year will look up to you for guidance–whether they choose to show it or not. It is your job to set a good example for them!” She said excitedly.
(And here is just the beginning…)

Leo walks into the school his head down so his hair covered his face. He looks around for a second, “C-can someone help me?” He asks quietly.

Festus looks to the two that as just bonded though he doesn’t move from his spot in the shadows.
