The Wanteds of Sauport
Wanteds are the outcasts of society. Given the term “Wanteds” to show the government was after them, these Wanteds are hunted down because of their abilities. Whispers of witchcraft run through the streets where these Wanteds reside. You don’t rat on someone in the streets. Never tell a fed you’ve met a Wanted. You’ll be taken away. Your death will be slow at the hands of the government. Wanteds are cast away by society to save their own lives; thus possibly sacrificing a Wanted in the process. In a cruel world with an even crueler government, no Wanted is safe. Ever. Alliances will be made, friendships will be tested, loyalty will be questioned, and more victims shall fall to the shadows of death, here on the streets of Sauport, where the wanteds reside.

“CHID!?” Ice shards came out of the ground and almost got Tessa, “I’m not a child. I’m a human being and I might be young but, I’m a boy and a boy with a life where he doesn’t follow the goverment. The reason they haven’t came to me is because I am strong and they go after you because you are weak. You follow the rules like everyone else. They’ll come to you.” Markie screams and leaves the ice shards melt.

“You really believe I follow this goverment? You believe I’m weak?” She asks quietly, seeming uneffected by his outburst. Her figure suddenly disappeared, replaced by the flickering shadows taking her form before she appeared again. “I smuggle illegal items to survive, and I’m a Wanted, just like you.”

Markie kept on walking a storm was starting and soon covered his tracks, he dissipered into the thick snow.

“Damn it.” Tessa swears softly, composing herself. She takes a moment to pull down her sleeves, staring at the ‘X XVII” and the “XXV XXVIII” on each respective wrist. “Wait!” She calls, not hopeful that he would hear her. “I never learned your name.”

Someone tapped on Tessa’s back, “It’s Markie.”

Tessa disappeared for a moment, her form flickering black before returning in less than the blink of an eye. “You startled me.” She says simply, not bothering to turn around. “Tessa.”

Markie smiles, “I should be going. I do have some things to take care of.”

“I can’t decide whether to take my leave or to follow you.” Tessa replies simply, turning. “I have nothing to go home to, considering I do not have a home, but it’s my obligation to protect… younger members of the Wanted society. I’d like to accompany you for a bit.”

Markie turns around and smiles, “if you can keep up, you can follow, if you can’t I’ll leave you in the dust.” Markie giggled and the snow swept him away.

Tessa sighed heavily, making sure no one was watching before she disappeared in a swirl of black, following Markie’s rapidly disappearing form through the snow.

Markie looked back and made a quick turn and went near the lake, he jumped in making no sound and froze the lake, “She can’t find me here.”

The shadows in which Tessa resided swirled in a mass and formed her, the colour of  her bodyreturning in split seconds. “I know this lake wasn’t frozen over… Damn.” She hisses, winded from being a shadow for that long.

Markie smiles and can see her from the ice he smiles and pucnches his hand through the ice to scare her.

Tessa sees the hand appear, and rather than startle, she merely disappears, the shadows of her form curling around his hand in a cold embrace.

Markie cracks the ice and swims to the edge and gets out, “Sorry if I scared you.” Markie sneezes and smiles.
