Act 2: Emerald Town
-
Peering around the town, the blond came to the conclusion that he was lost.
“Nothing new.” He muttered to himself, his eyes noticing a laboratory-styled building. He slowly walked to it, returning Daring to his Pokeball nest. Shoving his hands in his pockets, the shapeshifter inched closer to the group.
“Hey,” he said plainly, ignoring his aches and hunger. “Know where a guy can get some kind of care around here?” He hesitated. “And a search team?” -
I turned around, and that’s when I noticed him. “Ah, were you on the plane to Orre as well?” I asked. This had to be the guy, no doubt. CF started messaging me.
LOG:
CF: Ah, I see you’ve met him.
Me: Who is he, anyway?
CF: That’s for me to know and you to learn.
Me: I’m tired of all this mystery stuff, CF. Why do you never tell me the full story until I need it?
CF: That would ruin the suspense. -
He nodded, looking the other up and down.
“Yeah, but stuff happened and…well, let’s just say I need help.” He gave a crooked smile, scratching the back of his head. “The name is Vipin, by the way.” He extended his free hand. -
I shook Vipin’s hand, although it really wasn’t a handshake in my Sonic World Forme. “I’m Gamer, these guys are RavenCool, Ash and Day, and… Where’d Sonic and Tails go?”
-
Tails was showing me some of the things he had built since my last visit. “This is an electronic torch that creates real fire out of electricity, useful for battling. Well, at least it was until the Pokemon appeared.” I was interested in it, and asked, “Mind if I show the others? They might be interested!” “Sure thing, Sonic, but don’t get carried away and burn the place down.” I walked in and showed the others. “Hey guys, Tails was just showing me some of the things he made, and I wanted to show you this.” I pushed a button, and a fire lit up on the stick. “Apparently the fire is made of electricity, AND it’s real!”
-
Gasping, Vipin stepped away from the flame. “Stay there!” He shouted, holding up a hand. However, he felt it was a bit too late. The fire was too close, and in an instant, Vipin’s whole body was burst into flames, his humanoid form sinking and morphing into a fox-like figure. The fire vanished in a flash, leaving minimal damage to the surroundings.
However, were Vipin once stood as a human, he now was a Vulpix, adjusting himself to the different view. -
I was awestruck. “Another human with a Pokemon form, like me…” I thought I was the only one, apparently not… CF started messaging me.
LOG:
CF: Amazing, right?
Me: And you didn’t tell me WHY?
Me: Wait… suspense, right?
CF: Yep. You have to learn that soon, my friend.
Me: Okay…
CF: I can understand your shock. However, there are other Poke-humans.
Me: He’d have to be the most awesome one I’ve met on this journey.“Sonic, turn it off,” I said.
-
“Aww…” I turned it off. I still thought it was pretty interesting, and decided to keep it. I don’t use fetch modi to hold items, I just stuff them in a place known as Hammerspace, and that’s where I put the torch.
-
Vipin glared at Sonic, feeling the heat from the fire diminish. Waiting for the tingling feeling of transformation, the Vulpix stared at his front paws. When no such feeling came, he looked up to Gamer and shook his head. He was going to be stuck like this for a while.
Why couldn’t this stupid form have a voice box or something…
-
Tails, who had seen the whole thing happen, said, “Maybe he can’t talk in that form… I have some sort of Pokemon translator I made a few hours ago, I’ll go get it!” He walked off and came back with a strange collar. He then proceeded to put it on Vipin in his Vulpix form, and tried looking up Vulpix in his Pokedex. The device, speaking in a tone of voice like Professor Oak’s, said “Vulpix, the Fox Pokemon. As it grows, its tail splits into six. It can control will-o’-wisps, and attacks with powerful flames, as seen here.” The screen cut to a Vulpix (now owned by Brock) using Fire Spin and launching Team Rocket, straight from the anime episode Pokemon Fashion Flash. I said, “I added a video function to the Pokedex, which shows the Pokemon in action! Pretty handy when you need confirmation of a Pokemon’s skills!” Tails said, “Your other form might be useful, Vipin! And now, with this translator collar, you can speak normally like this!”
-
After contemplating about what the device was for, Day realized it was a trans-dimensional teleporter.
To make sure it was true, he checked his pockets for something. Glory-check. 2-check. 3-check. 4-check. 5-check. Jason… gone. “Well then, this is just PERFECT.” -
LOG:
CF: About Day…
Me: This is about the device, isn’t it
CF: Yes, it is. It’s an interdimensional transporter.“Gah!” I said. Tails asked, “What happened?” I replied, “It’s nothing, just talking with CF.”
CF: Careful with the voice.
Me: Sorry, I just… How do I find his Pokemon?
CF: You don’t. His Pokemon is in the future now.
Me: The future?
CF: I never told you this, but your home dimension…
Me: What about it?
CF: It’s the Pokemon dimension.
CF: And you have a big role to play in it.
CF: You, along with their Deadly Six, will determine the fate of its Pokemon, humans, and the fragile balance of their power.
Me: Wow, I never thought of it that way…“Listen, Day… I have a friend from the Prime Dimension, he is only known as CF to everyone but me. He’s pretty much omnipotent to us, and gives me help. He said you can’t bring Jason back, he has an important role to play in the future of your world. It’s hard to understand.”
-
“Well, Tell him to say hi to Doc Scratch for me, okay? I think I sent one of my Pokémon into a different dimension. Which sucks, seeing as the device was unstable and could send the guy anywhere in that dimension’s timeline. So yeah.”
-
“Well, CF already knows about Doc Scratch, but isn’t that powerful in his home dimension. He’s pretty much a young boy sitting at a computer typing. Also, I have a feeling I’m going to meet Jason after this adventure, and he’ll be in a more… humanoid… form.” I suddenly realized that I knew nothing of what was related to those words. “Wait, why did I say that?” I thought it over for a second. “Must have been him. Also, do NOT try getting mixed up in his timeline. His timeline is completely different to ours, for example, the future to us is happening now for him.”
-
RavenCool is playing with her pokemon, and just relaxing. (Yeah RavenCool isn’t paying attention.)
