Truce or Destruction

Demons and Angels have fought for too long , the prolonged war having devastating effects on both sides, leaving them deprived of magic and with dying populations. Heaven and Hell has had enough, sending both demons and angels to earth in an isolated forest in Australia, the most dangerous continent on Earth, with limiters, limited stamina and weaker magic making them have to depend on others. This is to form bonds that will hopefully end their war, an example of peace a sample before going larger and larger, though there are still some who oppose this peace….

“Mi-miss?” Celest says as her wings twitched a bit, “You must be mistaken” she says as she tries to fix herself up a bit. She spent a lot of time preparing her outfit and appearance to look like a plain male angel and she wasn’t gonna let herself be revealed so easily. Perhaps the limiters were affecting her transformation a lot more than what she had expected. “And yeah so how about you get over that little fit of yours and just go though this mission of achieving peace or whatever so we can all move on with ours lives” Celest says looking at Marlette with a big smile.
-
“My apologies, in that case, I can usually identify a voice.” Said Caligula, capping his pen and placing it in his breast pocket and closing his notebook. He glanced at Celest from behind his glasses with a vague glimmer of interest in his eye, “If you don’t mind further interruption, I seldom get the chance to talk with an angel. I’m rather interested in honesty.” He threaded his fingers together and placed his hands  in his lap, “You mention this mission as if you’re reluctant to be here, did you volunteer or where you assigned?” He ran a hand through his hair, “As you can see, I’m a bit of an old man, I’m not really sure how things work anymore.” He said with a chuckle.
-
Celest put a hand to her throat, she could’ve sworn she changed her voice a bit but it’s nothing too major. She then looked at Caligula “Oh I volunteered to be here but to me volunteering or being assigned to something are both missions to me no matter what they are.” She then put her hands into her pants pocket “Although I wasn’t really expecting to be surrounded by so many demons, in all honesty I have no interest into demons at all. I only took this up for a break from my usual work” She says looking quite bored.
-
Caligula pushed his glasses up and let out a soft sigh, “…I see.” He murmured and stood up, “Historically at least, it’s not a good idea to write off an entire population. It’ll be counterproductive to the assignment anyway.” He approached Celest and extended a hand to her, “Either way, I’ll stay out of your hair for the duration of this. I’d be happy if you did the same.” he said with a kind smile.

(Apologies for being a terrible host, I’ve just been busy lately)
Jaya rolled his eyes at Marlette’s rant, agreeing with the others a bit before speaking to the demon himself as the other two speak, a bit surprised but not too much at the new demon’s appearance, Jaya could sense him after all, however he was a bit confused as to where the others were, maybe they were late, it didn’t really matter to him.
Focusing once more Jaya spoke to the only female demon, “Nothing is truly simple as the others have said. I think however that your mind may be the exception with how easy you perceived this to be, all those who attend this gathering have something to bring, a skill that makes them exceptional and useful in a way, of course manipulating them wouldn’t work so easily. Or at least it shouldn’t.” Jaya mumbled the last part to himself.
Paying attention to the other two Jaya studied the man, deeming him rather harmless though a bit intriguing with his observation skills, was the angel actually a female? Not that it mattered but now Jaya was curious as he listened in before jumping in. “He’s right you know, keeping such a close minded view causes issues for all, be a bit more…open.” Jaya smirked at the angel, obviously holding back another joke as he waited for the angel’s response to both him and the rather plain demon who smelled of coffee.
-
Celest shook Caligula’s hand and looked him straight in the eye, “aww..but you see I’m quite the nosy person, I highly doubt I’ll keep away from anyone’s business so good luck with that.” She says before laughing to herself.
Upon hearing Jaya she looked towards his direction “Oh I’m open minded on many things however I’m sure I’m not the only one here who’s not really interested into this now am I” she said putting a finger on her cheek. “Come on you really think this will make a big difference to the world, there’s plenty of Angels who hates Demons and vice versa. I highly doubt we’ll make great progress in this small pitiful group” Celest says in a very cold way of speaking.
-
Jaya whistled at the comment to Caligula, narrowing his eyes a bit on the angel, for one who likes privacy himself he does not like nosy people or rather rude people like Celest is portraying himself as.
Leaning back against a tree nonchalantly Jaya smiled at the angel a bit mocking as he retorted, “Maybe not big but it’s a start, you should know how those little things can influence those huger ones so well.” It seemed like Jaya switched his position on the peace idea but he didn’t, rather he just likes having a balance and keeping potential enemies at their ground level position, not letting them think they can walk over everyone.
“You should be a bit more optimistic angel, after all you volunteered for the job and it is a job right? Weren’t you supposed to make peace with the group instead of fighting?” Jaya grinned mockingly at the seemingly upset angel.
-
Celest glared at Jaya a bit “I suppose you are correct but peace comes with time and I do plan to make peace and that’s all, nothing more.” She said fixing her outfit a bit, she didn’t really know what else to respond to the demon he did made a correct point.
-
“We need more than peace and tolerance but to establish an actual bond or community, so in a way Marlette here was right in trying to make friends. Because if all we do is tolerate each other than we’ll just constantly be at ends with each other and looking for another way to start the war in secret as we gain strength once more.” Jaya smiled at Marlette before turning the smile to Celest, “I thank you for seeing reason.” At least he can still sense some sort of vague feeling of other’s emotions at the very least.
-
Celest looked at the group of demons and couldn’t help but think that she made a mistake on volunteering because she had a feeling that she was going to be stuck on this mission for a long time. “Yeah, yeah, whatever let’s just try and get to peace as soon as we can or whatever so our worlds can join hands and smile and blah blah blah, all that stuff.” Celest said with no real interest in her words.
-
Jaya laughed a bit, “And we start this by introducing ourselves to the newcomer. I am Jaya, general of Hell’s army. We may have met before actually…” Jaya says sniffing at the air near Caligula much like an animal.
-
Caligula had silently observed the two of them for the duration of the conversation, mentally noting what they said while holding a hand on his chin with a faint smile. He rolled back his shoulders and put both hands in his pockets. He glanced at Jaya, overlooking the sniffing, “I’ve heard of you, however I don’t believe we’ve met.” He put his hand out amicably, “I’m Caligula Decimus, more or less a civilian. I do desk work, you see,” he lied, “Some higher-up recommended me here so I volunteered.”
-
Jaya sensed a faint lie in the words but couldn’t detect where it came from really, just knowing it was harmless maybe, this damned “collar” as he was beginning to call the limiter. Jaya took the hand anyone, a bit curious on why the other demon lied, “A higher-up recommending a desky? Interesting… What do you do?” Jaya backed up, something about this man familiar but Jaya put it off for later.
-
Celest looked at Caligula “I’m quite interested as well, why would a civilian even volunteer to do this, it’s a bit odd” she became a bit suspicious of him after all it seemed like most of the demons and including herself were of a high or somewhat high status or ranking. “Oh and my name is Celest Lavel Ramire” she said before doing a small bow “It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She said smiling.
-
Caligula pushed his glasses up nonchalantly, “The usual, I’m in the administrative department. I spend days organizing files and dealing with soldiers going on leave, retiring and the like.” He continued lying, “I have to interact with some of the most… aggressive of our kind,” He explained, pulling a box of cigarettes out of his pocket, “I imagine that equips me to deal with unreasonable angles as well as demons.” He put a cigarette in his mouth and fished around in his pocket for a lighter, “Of course, I have my own reasons as well.”
