*Unable to infiltrate the academy because of it’s barrier and strong security. Lord Dio used a device to listen from a far distance. A question caught his attention. He grinned as he thought about it.* If I think back to when I was young, I could say that I was fighting to survive. Then I started to fight to take over the Joestar Mansion and all it’s riches. Of course, that was naive. Now, I fight for greater power and dominion over all.

*He thought of his own answer when listening to the question. When he was young, it was to protect himself and Father Fujimoto from his twin Rintoki but as he grew older his reasons to fight changed. To protect his those close to him, to protect his friends, to protect his students, to protect his growing family, until he realized he was fighting to protect those he was able to, those that for some reason were not able to protect themselves. He would smile as his thoughts brought him nostalgia.* I will continue to fight for what I want to protect.

Hmmm, interesting question! *She sits back and relax, going back in time when she was just a student herself and grew up in becoming part of a great affiliation. She remembers her teammates and all the combats that they fought together then with that in mind, she replies to the question* At first it was to protect my own kind, those who were not strong enough to defend themselves and were targeted by civilians and even from the government from harm. Later, my team and I realized that it was so much bigger than that. With our abilities, we learned that we can use them for the greater good and to also hope that those who are against us mutants, can see that we were not only “freaks” that needed to be “controlled” because of assumptions of “abuse of power”. So now, we protect humanity as a whole; the ones we love, the ones we care for, and even the ones who can’t defend themselves…mutant or not. That’s what we fight for! *smiles as she thinks of her team again*

  • *She thought about the answer to this carefully. There was nothing heroic to her motivations. Her reason to fight was to restore the honor to her family lineage. But this made her wonder if there was something more for her to fight for.*

  • My reason to fight? *he thought for a moment and then responded.* I want to fight so that my friends and family don’t get hurt! To protect everyone I love!

To defend those I love and to defend myself. *She wrote as she saluted her teacher and went straight to the lockers to change into her gear to begin training. It may have been the weekend but after all those sweets she had, she felt a surge of energy and her parents figued this would be a useful way for their little girl to release that energy and learn some self-defense all at once.*

  • Solana stepped into the classroom, her boots echoing softly against the stone floor. The air was thick with quiet anticipation as students took their seats, some whispering, others staring at the front where their instructor stood, arms crossed.

The professor’s sharp gaze swept over the room before he spoke. “What do you fight for?”

A simple question, yet it carried weight. Solana tapped her fingers against the desk, her thoughts swirling like embers caught in the wind. She hadn’t fought any battles—not yet. But the fire inside her burned just as fiercely.

Slowly, she stood. “I fight to protect the ones I love… but also those who cannot defend themselves.” Her voice was steady, unwavering.

A murmur rippled through the classroom. Some students nodded, others glanced at her with curiosity, but the professor merely held her gaze.

“A noble cause,” he said, his tone measured. “But words alone do not make a warrior. Train well, Solana. One day, you may find yourself in the very battle you hope to prevent.”

She nodded and sat back down, determination settling deep in her chest. She wasn’t a warrior yet, but she would be. One day.
