To protect his those close to him, to protect his friends, to protect his students, to protect his growing family, until he realized he was fighting to protect those he was able to, those that for some reason were not able to protect themselves. Later, my team and I realized that it was so much bigger than that. With our abilities, we learned that we can use them for the greater good and to also hope that those who are against us mutants, can see that we were not only “freaks” that needed to be “controlled” because of assumptions of “abuse of power”. So now, we protect humanity as a whole; the ones we love, the ones we care for, and even the ones who can’t defend themselves…mutant or not. That’s what we fight for! *smiles as she thinks of her team again*
