Okarin stands up, tucking the Akio’s clipboard under his arm and putting his hands in his lab coat pockets, “Alright.” he says as he leaves the room, giving a wave to Mary as he left. He walked down the hall until he reached the room he was in the night before.
-
Mary glances at Cobalt’s paper again, making sure she knew the room number he was in. Once she had verified the number, she walked to Cobalt’s room. A few moments later she stood in front of the door to his room. She double checks the room number then knocks on the door, “Hello, Cobalt? Are you awake yet?”
-
Akio had fallen asleep, he was curled up under his covers. The only sounds coming from him was his sharp inhales of air.
-
Okarin knocks on the door, loud enough that it would probably wake him, “Hey, do you mind if I come in?” he calls into the room.
-
It takes a few moments for Akio to fully wake up. He sits up slowly, looking at the door. “No, not at all.” he says softly, being more calm than usual.
-
Okarin opens the door and walks in, “Good morning.” He greets Akio, “Hey, could you do me a favor? I want to see your interaction with another patient here?”
-
Akio rises from his bed, tilting his head slightly. “Another patient, you say? Who exactly is this patient?” he begins to comb his hair with his fingers.
-
“His name is Cobalt, although I doubt you would’ve met him, he’s typically in solitary.” Okarin shows him the clipboard with Cobalt’s file and picture on it, “I think theres a similarity between your conditions and if I can find that, I feel as if I might be able to find a more effective medicine regiment.”
-
Akio leans in and looks at the profile. “Cobalt…” he turns around, making his back face Okarin, he rests his arms behind his head. “Do I really have to communicate with him?” he whines. “Isn’t he a kid? I don’t do well with kids.” he looks at Okarin, still keeping his back facing him. “Do I have to?”
-
“..Ah..” Okarin sighs sympathetically, “It would help, yes.” He glances down to the floor, putting his hands in his lab coat pockets again, “…Although, if you really dont want to do it, I cant make you.”
-
Akio turns around, he walks up to Okarin. “Awe, you’re not putting in enough effort.” he nudges him a bit with his shoulder. “Make me interact with Cobalt. If it does help you, make me help you.” Akio says smugly, smirking.
-
Okarin puts on a stern expression, the same he would use when ordering around the other doctors, nurses and interns that work under him. He sticks his hands in his pockets and says, “You’ll be participating in a group session for research purposes.” He says in a cold and somewhat commanding tone.
-
Cobalt slowly starts to come around and he slowly sits up and yawns, “Hmm… what is it?”
-
“That’s a good boy.” he gets a little closer to Okarin. He suddenly purposely trips himself, falling and putting all his weight on Okarin. He catches himself by wraping his arms around Okarin’s neck. “Sorry.” he half-grins.
