Casimir went quiet when the principal entered the library. He dropped his eyes to the book in his lap, which he held onto tightly, before slipping the book into his bag and standing up. “Actually… Never mind. I should get going.” He said, slinging his bag over his shoulder. “I’ve bugged you enough.”

Arion stands on the sidelines, a forgotten glass in his hand. He’d just watched the mos interesting conversation. But it really didn’t concern him, nor did he really care. The dragon averted his eyes, shifting his attention to gazing around at the assembled guests. He was wearing a perfectly tailored black suit, and he had his blonde hair slicked back. To be honest, he felt kind of ridiculous in the fancy clothing. But, it couldn’t be helped. He had to uphold his family image.

Casimir raised his head to gaze at the scars, then up at Baylet herself. “What happened…?” He asked hesitantly, before clearing his throat and glancing away again. “You don’t have to tell me.”

Casimir blinked, then looked down at his lap and fidgeted a little with the hem of his sleeve. “So… You’re a real bigshot then, huh?” He asked, glancing up at the girl through his lashes. His expression was bashful, in an almost childlike way.

    Name: Arion

    Age: Unknown (Physically 22)

    Race: Eastern Dragon

    Residence: The Mantle

    Gang Affiliation: None currently

Job: His family owns a very successful business which has its hand in pretty much everything, and he is the heir of said business.

Powers: He can take human form, though being in it for too long can make him deathly ill. He can also control the element of fire.

    Appearance:

Bio/History: Arion is a bit of a loner. He’s stuck in the mindset that anyone he meets is going to betray him in one way or another. He barely trusts his own family, let alone the people working for him. Arion is pansexual, which means that he doesn’t believe in gender barriers when it comes to love, even though he has never fallen in love before.

Casimir gazed up at her for a moment, his expression curious. “What… Are you, exactly?” He asked, his head tilting to the side in a very bird-like manner. “I’m not trying to be rude, but I really have no idea.” All he knew was what she had said, something about devouring the Earth.

Casimir’s smile grew a little, and he nodded. “I’ve sort of noticed that.” He said, before his smile faltered and he looked back down at his lap. “But… this school took me in when I had nowhere else to go.” The phoenix said quietly. “So I don’t really feel comfortable badmouthing him like that.”

Hideki wandered through the streets, his hood pulled up to keep his identity hidden. He didn’t know what town he was in or how far he’d walked; all he knew was that he was far away from the last place. Things hadn’t worked out so great there. He’d let a guy get too close, close enough that he confided in them the magic his brother had taught him. And they’d panicked. Took back everything they’d ever said, and even sent the local guild after him. Hideki had barely escaped with his life.

Now he was all alone, betrayal and longing heavy in his heart. Again. ‘It’s better that way.’ He told himself bitterly, angrily kicking a rock with the toe of his boot and sending it flying down the street. ‘No one can hurt you when you’re alone.’ The mage repeated that over and over in his head, trying to fight down the sorrow that threatened to bubble up.

Because no matter how many times he told himself it was better this way, Hideki hated being alone.

    Name: Hideki Akiyama

    Age: 17

    Gender: Male

    Appearance:

Personality: Ever since his brother died and left him all alone, Hideki has tried to avoid talking to others and getting close to them, believing that everyone will simply abandon him. He keeps his magic a secret, not wanting to be prosecuted for magic that was taught to him so that he could protect himself, though he won’t hesitate to fight back if someone attacks him. Hideki is also pansexual, which means he doesn’t believe in gender barriers when it comes to love, though the concept is foreign to him.

Magic specialty: His brother taught him Blood Magic when he was a little kid. It is a very rare, very powerful, and very frowned upon type of magic, with which the user is capable of weaponizing their own blood. They can use it as a whip, spears, swords, and can even use it to create a barrier around them. But the magic has a very dangerous drawback. If they use their blood as a weapon and it leaves the body, it can’t come back in, leaving them weak until their body can reproduce the lost blood. Most Blood Mages die of blood loss before they turn 25.

    Guild: None at the moment

Team name: The Akiyama Brothers (Disbanded when his older brother died from using his magic too much); None currently

Other team members: It was just him and his brother; None currently

Weapon: His blood (If that counts) and a blade that he carries with him for slicing his palm or pricking his finger

    Other: Nuggets

Casimir looked up from his book just in time to catch the essay thrown at him, and he gave a shaky smile. “Nice to meet you.” He said, giving a polite inclination of his head. “I’m Casimir.”

The phoenix looked down at his essay, then sighed softly. “It sort of is trash… This is the shortest thing I’ve written for an assignment. And it’s nothing compared that book of yours.”

Casimir fidgeted with his essay once it was handed back, staring down at the pages. He sighed softly and turned away, tossing the essay into the trash before returning to the sofa he had commandeered earlier. Now that the essay had been completed and turned in, the phoenix didn’t have anything else to occupy his time with.

He picked up the book he’d chosen earlier, opening it up and starting to read. As soon as he became engrossed in the pages, it was like he was in his own little world, and everything else dropped away.

Oliver had no idea where he was. He’d been running for a long time now, when a large human man caught him trying to steal an apple from a street vendor, and both humans started chasing after him. All he knew was that he was a long way from home, and he didn’t know how to get back. The wolf boy stopped running, bending over with his hands on his knees as he tried to catch his breath, and tears sprang up in his golden eyes. He sank to the ground with his back against a tree, covering his face with his hands as he let out the tiniest of sobs. Getting lost was one of the things that scared him the most.

Casimir carried his own essay back to the main counter of the library to staple the pages together after making sure they were aligned neatly. The essay was completely handwritten, the writing a neat, looping cursive. He glanced around the room for the first time and noticed that the principal was already in there. At least he didn’t have t go looking for him. Unfortunately, it seemed he was already with two students.

He took a shaky breath and walked over to them, clutching his essay in his hand, and stopped next to the girl, with a few feet between them. The phoenix looked at the horrid book in her hands, and then down at his measly ten pages, before meekly clearing his throat. “Um… I’ve finished mine as well.” He said quietly, looking down at his feet.

((I just want to mention that I work nights, so I won’t be able to reply until around 8:30 every night. Apologies. ^-^”))

Casimir strode into the library and set his book on the counter, smiling at the librarian. He had checked it out the day before, but was already finished with it. After turning it in, he walked over to one of the bookshelves and chose a book for later, then went to a sofa in the corner of the library and settled down. The phoenix pulled a notebook from his bag and immediately started writing, putting down everything he had learned about himself and his race over the years. The essay ended up being longer than a page, but he didn’t care.
