“Not with that glare, I don’t,” she says wryly, as the ice once again begins creeping up his wrist. “Try a little less killing intent towards those under my protection.”
-
Eni had decided on a couch and carried it to the house again. She noticed Nuri was gone, and heard yelling and banging from the back yard. She smirked a little. “That won’t do you any good,” she called to him, setting down the couch and tossing the remains of the other one out. It was bigger than her old one, to accommodate her new…..guests. “It’s linked to you until I can trust you.”
-
Without bothering to check if Xander followed, Eni walked out the door and went to the next house that was still in order. It was a fair distance away.
-
Eni sighed in irritation as the couch lit on fire. “You can come with me to find a new sofa,” she said, pointing at the cold one. Then she smacked Gekido on the forehead. His heat didn’t bother her at all. “That ice will melt once you calm down and stop having murderous thoughts. Let’s go.”
-
Eni snaps and the air around Gekido freezes, leaving him trapped but unharmed. No matter how hard he tries to melt the ice, it just freezes again. “I won’t have that in my house.” she calmly states. “Now, you can get out of there when you’ve calmed down.”
-
Eni glanced up at the door, smiling wryly. “It seems I’m quite popular today.” she says, standing and brushing her legs off. “And who might you be?”
-
“Well, this dipshit might, normally, but right now I think you’re fine.” she answered, smirking. A lot of the survivors and pure bred nonhumans were like this. Fear ruled them in one way or another. The smirk dropped off her face, replaced with a look of cold fury. When the demon gods had tried to take her, both fire and flame, when she didn’t die from the change, but rather awoke, her hair bleached white and her eyes liquid gold, she had taken it as a sign. She was meant to do something with this new world, and she had decided to shape it. She would end the war, with its pointless slaughter and desecration of free will…..even if it meant gathering an army.
-
Eni smiled from inside the house, not a nice smile but a dark one that spoke of secrets and lives lost. “Ah! But where would the fun be if I told you everything about myself?” she asked softly, giving no evidence of malice or lies or anything her smile had shown.
-
“My name is Eni…..You may also know me as the Enigma if you were turned or born in the past 50 years.” she answered warily.
-
Eni sighed, opening the door and stepping in, setting Nuri on the couch and walking over to the closet she had stuffed with blankets. She pulled the one that had soaked the cold water off him, and then dropped three more on top of him. “There. See? Why would I bother carrying around a dead body? He would be no help if he was dead.” she called out the open door. “Now, please, either show yourself or leave….” she requested.
-
“I mean no harm,” she coolly states. “I’ve been staying here the past few weeks. Who are you?” she moves carefully to the door, her movements slightly hindered by Nuri, who has either gone into shock, or is unconscious.
-
Eni glanced in the direction of the trees, frowning slightly. She appeared to have gained an audience. With Nuri unresponsive and more firekin closing in, she was in need of an escape. She wrapped Nuri into the blanket and wreathed herself in fire, changing into a great winged fire bird and taking off into the sky. Soon she was wreathed in clouds, and she shot off like a bullet towards her home. She glanced back in Din’s direction regretfully. I will be back for you another day. she sent him telepathically, closing the connection as she landed on the ground and changed back to her original form.

Her? Kit thought. Best not to push it….. “yeah, yeah. I get that. It’s important to you, and I’m here to help if I can.”
