“Yes, through the portal.” Kit agreed, and Zanzibar jumped through.

Kit abruptly stops, her tail flicking, and runs a hand through her hair. Electricity crackles through it and around her fingers. “Can we just get on our way? And since when do you have to be worried about that? Mortality isn’t your thing….”

Kit twitched at the mention of his name, an angry blush creeping across her face. “He’s dead. I warned him. I could kill him right now,” she said, and a rift opened leading conveniently to Earth, “I could snap my fingers and have Goslephthan on his tail in moments….. but I also swore that I would not use him until my powers were under my control….” Chaotic energy was seeping off of her, and Zanzibar began to skitter nervously in the air.

“WHAT.” Kit snapped, her eyes narrowing. “Who is it? I’ll tear them apart!” for a moment she was consumed in a poisonous green aura and then, just as quickly as it appeared it was gone.

“That isn’t up to me…..” Kit said, giving him a shrug. “You seem a lot less powerful than you were when you left…. what happened?”

Kit jumped up on Zanzibar’s back and wrapped her tail around her waist as they lifted into the air. “Ummmm…. where even are we?” she asked after a few moments. “Is this school even on Earth?”

Kit looked at Mars with exasperation. “Shall we go then?” she asked him.

“No, I’m not leaving you.” Kit told him. “We didn’t come together, and you appear out of the blue after 100 years and expect everything to just fall back into place? That isn’t how life works.” she flicked her tail and wings. “Now, I’m sure your particular skills would be rather useful, so you can see if Mars will allow you to tag along, but drop the innocent act. It’s unsettling to see you acting like such a child.”

“You’re a necromancer?” Kit asked, her tail flicking and the little flame drew closer to her. “I didn’t know those still existed….. don’t you have to–oh.” she moved uncomfortably on the ground and then the air around her warped and she was laying in the air with a highlighter blue mountain dew. “So when are we going?” she asked, changing the subject.

Kit floated down, making full use of her chaotic fairy magic to see the new teacher. He was unsettling, to say the least. Too happy.

“I hate that guy.” Kit snarled. “He thinks he’s sooooo special. Not to mention his anger issues…. he has a lot in common with WRAITH, actually.” She twitched her wings out and then folded them against her back. “I just wish I would have known he could sense power shifts….” she shrugged, flicking her tail. “Eh, what can you do though. Assholes will be assholes.”

“All right, I can do that!” she says, and turns into a sparrow. She flies to her window and through it, ignoring the bodies and blood on the floor. She grabs a long tubular package that has been wrapped in black canvas and slings it over her back\side, where one end rests easily within reach. Then she grabs an amulet from another bag and curses softly in Elvish. “I swore I would never use you again.” she mutters, then slips it on. Her whole body begins to feel heavy, as if weighed down, and then a few changes happen. A whiplike tail grows, and slender arcing horns grow from her head. A small light emerges from her chest and then bobs by her tail, engulfed in blue and black flame. Her eyes become like a cat’s but don’t change color, and iridescent wings emerge from her back as she threw of her shirt. It was quickly replaced by a hoodie with wing slots in the back. Finished, she flew back to Mars, giving him a look that dared him to comment.

“So then you won’t leave without me if I go get some things from my room?” Kit asked.

Kit rubbed her head as the new information pounded into it, much like the galloping of the pegasus. She concentrated, and turned into a black pegasus with a bright blue mane and tail. She lifted her wings to examine them and discovered that while her primaries were blue, the rest of her feathers were the same pitch black as her hide. She snorted and took flight, landing on tube clouds with Mars.
