It didn’t seem Rea would be getting back to sleep as she watched the older woman prune her plants. “So…. the plants look nice.” she commented. “What are these little flowers?”
-
Rea coughed/ puked suddenly, groaning and heaving out her guts. More black stuff. “Does it ever end?!” she finally asked when she stopped, looking in disgust at the black liquid on the floor. She was fully awake now.
-
Rea drifted slightly into a half sleep, muttering things, sometimes in English, sometimes in wolf. It didn’t make sense, although more than once the topic of a silver hand that takes the night came up.
-
Rea yawned, her jaw clicking shut at the end of it, and picked herself off the floor. She walked over to the corner and circled around three times before laying on the blanket and dropping her head on the pillow. “Flowers…” she murmured, looking at the little red flowers through partially closed eyes.
-
Rea just obediently followed the woman wherever she lead her. When they got to the garden area, her legs trembled under her weight and then collapsed, taking her down with them. Her eyes were half closed. “I’m tired…. I don’t get tired until after the moon….” she murmured sleepily.
-
Rea nodded and padded forward, both human and wolf so tired that they were simply existing beside one another. Human mind, wolf body, and everything else just sort of a mix of the two. Every once in a while she had to stop and cough up small bits of black liquid, but her stomach didn’t hurt so bad.
-
Rea stood slowly, but got up and followed the alchemist. Even the wolf was calmed by this woman, though she couldn’t possibly understand why. “Not… Fang’s fault.” she said, hoping she was speaking clearly enough. “m…me.”
-
Rea finally grabbed the vial, forcing it down her throat. It was just as horrible tasting as it had smelled. Just as she felt the first wave of sickness hitting her, her control slipped, and she wound up in her wolf form again, heaving the black liquid up and then crawling away from them to curl up in a ball.
-
Rea whimpered and shook her head, laying her ears flat against her skull. “Can’t!”
-
Rea made a noise somewhere between a groan and a whine and her eyes rolled back into her skull, showing the whites. She panted more heavily as her human logic tried to reason with her wolf instincts. She struggled against Ms. Claude and then stilled, looking up at the teacher. “I don’t feel so great.”
-
Rea whimpered and tried hiding behind Fang as a new figure approached.
-
She flicked her ears, acknowledging that he was making an effort. She didn’t want to get up, though. She didn’t feel good. Rea let out another long whine and rolled on her side, panting.
-
Rea just kept coughing and whining, resting her head on the floor and looking miserable. The black sludge that was on the floor ended up in her fur too.
-
Rea whined and licked his cheek, coughing off the black liquid that ended up on her tongue. It tasted bad, and made her stomach feel sick. She laid down on the ground and coughed some more, but it was all over her mouth. Fang… fang… she whined again and headbutted him.
-
Rea flattened her ears against her skull and howled, dropping to the floor and scraping at her ears. This little bit of the ordeal caused the wolf to retreat, hide behind its human counterpart, and so it was Rea’s voice crying out at the end of the howl.
“Fang? Fang, it hurts!” she whined, her voice becoming telepathic in nature as her vocal chords were lost again to the wolf.
