Ryuuko is a strong willed girl with a lot of love for her mother as well as her older sister Satsuki. At first they did not get along but when they soon discovered they were sisters that had changed them both and for the better. It was some time after that ryuuko had come to be found injured by the lady of the grand sugar clan Helena, and taken to be healed. After hours of being with her she felt she could tell her about herself and open up and when she said she had no where to stay she was given a home and since then she has loved her parents and extended family very much just as she would had they been her birth family and she learned that blood does not make a family, a strong bond of the heart does.
