“Ah, sorry Nicola seems to be ignoring you for some reason. Don’t let her offend you she can be stubborn about things sometimes.” *I throw the cigarette away into the fire and take another drink of water.*

*I lit a cigarette and take a drag.* “So you know Autumn?”

“Just a water please.” *I open the bottle of water and take a drink.* “Do you care if I smoke?”

*Noticing the girls run off before the guy could finish I sit down next to him* “No thanks!” I call to Autumn and turn to face Dakota. “Nice to meet you. I’m not much of a swimmer. Did you make this yourself?” I ask changing the subject.

“Nice to meet you.” *I extend my free hand out to Dakota to offer him a handshake.*

*I smile at her and laugh* “Alright aha.”

*As they approach I give them both a hug.* “What took you so long?”

*Seeing Nicola and Autumn in the distance I wave to them.*

*I arrive at the beach and notice a guy sitting at an interesting makeshift fireplace.*

*I get a text from autumn and change into some shorts and a button up T shirt. I walk toward the beach to meet them there.*

“Ciao Rico.” *Chael walks out of the dorms and to his classes.*

*I smile at her* “Rico, there will always be drama with Mother and father. But I suppose it’s a possibility.” *Chael flips his mobile out his pocket and glances at the text from Autumn again.* “Listen Rico. Finish up class today and we can go to the beach after school. Invite Nayr for me, and maybe any other friends you happen to make today. We can all go together.”

“Another semester abroad certainly can’t hurt me. Besides, what would you do if Nayr wanted to stay in America? We couldn’t just ignore things.” *I hold the door open for her and we walk to her room*

*I get my bag together and adjust my tie two or three times.* “Oi, Nicola! Hurry up in there.”

“Buon pomeriggio,” I correct her. *I point towards the bedside table where her clothes are neatly folded.* “I washed those for you.”
