One of the security people stepped intimidatingly towards Sherly and Valarie. “Let the driver alone,” he said.
“Last box,” another said, climbing into the back of the truck. The others followed and the sliding door on the back slammed shut. As quickly as the vehicle had arrived it was gone.
As they left, a van – not the sketchy white kind but one that looked like it could belong to a suburban white dad – roared into the parking lot. It screeched to a stop and the woman inside uttered a single, “Damn it,” as the truck escaped with its cargo.
-
“Back off, lady,” the driver said. “I’m just trying to do my job.”
Four men wearing what seem to be security uniforms exit the airport and begin loading large boxes into the truck.
“Hurry it up. Andel is supposed to show up any minute,” said the driver from inside of the vehicle. “I don’t even want her to see the taillights.

I won’t say it’s normal for an eighteen-wheeler to pull into an airport parking lot. I won’t say it’s abnormal either. Different places have different rules on this kind of thing.
Nonetheless, this eighteen-wheeler most definitely did pull into an airport parking lot. To add to the suspense, it stopped there, too, and then just waited there with its engine on.
Of course, there was no way this could possibly have anything to do with your story.

A hulking beast of a man rolled into the room, almost crushing Carly beneath his mighty tread. Without a moment’s delay, he ripped the thin fabric that barely constituted a shirt from his sweating skin, unleashing a fierce war cry.
“GIB-AY!”

“Wait! No! You’ll kill Snacks!” Heck ran towards Blaze to try to stop him, then tripped on a rock that had been displaced in the fight and fell face-first toward the ground. He looked up and said, “He’s not such a bad…” A massive electrical arc jumped from Blaze’s hands to Kaz’s body.
“…Guy.”

“I don’t think he understands what happens if you run around breaking things,” Heckie said to Fallen through gritted teeth. “Whatever, he’s not tearing the place up, at least.”
Heck picked up the revolver from the ground and put it in his pocket. “They were dumb for thinking I’d benefit from a pea shooter around here. For the record, I am not with them. I’m going to be having a long talk with their administrator when this is over.”
He turned to face the ongoing battle. “But unlike you, I have no cruise control. No powers, no magic. If I want the leverage that it’ll take to get out of this, this fight has to end.”
-
“I work for myself, Fluff! They asked nicely and I’m doing them a favor! Now, I don’t know what the hell happened with you, but there are innocent people dying because of this fight! They are families! Parents! How many people are going to walk around with the same pain you’re in right now because of this fight?”
Heck actually felt a bit angry now. He knew it was unfair – this guy obviously was carrying some baggage on him – but he couldn’t change that he was pissed.
(OOC: Did Heck let it slip somewhere that he was asked by the FDTA?)

Now we just need one more

Heck, now far higher above the ground than he normally found himself, looked down and found the whole situation to be uncomfortably close to the edge of the sinkhole.
“Did I ever mention I get really bad…” he paused to try to force some air past Dakota’s fingers. “…Vertigo?”
