Tom:
Tom returned and let out a relieved sigh. Miwa was alright, and he saw another girl and boy dance. It was the same one who sent him into a panic with his superhuman biochemistry, but seeing him passively dance alleviated any fears. Oddly, maybe his mind was failing him, but she seemed almost metallic. Besides them, he saw the Godal descendant (Tom matched their chemistry) with yet another new student. By himself, Tom was fully satisfied. True, he accepted his weakness as compared to the others, but that would all be made false soon enough.
And anyway, being physically weak didn’t necessarily make him inferior. Tom never liked social gatherings, which as part of high society he was begrudgingly obligated to attend.
Aena:
Aena put her hand into Kuze’s and began to follow his motions. In an instant, she searched for dancing instructions on the internet and parsed them. “Shall we do the tango or the disco? These are names of rhythmical movements, are they not?”
-
Tom:
Tom breathed easy and returned to normal.
Miwa’s okay. But was I doing before? Tom decided to procrastinate on his forge project by attending the party.
Aena:
“I would love too! I would love too,” Aena said giddily. Small bulbs created an artificial blush underneath her cheeks. She didn’t know when it occurred because it seemed to happen randomly even when she was experiencing the same emotion.
-
Aena:
“I was not aware humans were able to control microcomputers.”
She paused for a moment.
“No, I am not in a troubled condition, though my current actions might convey soon,” she lied. “I simply do not know how to operate in social gatherings.”

Tom:
Tom went after Miwa and said coolly, “I can restore you to how you felt before you were sick if you really need it.” He didn’t mention that he would suffer backlash. But for something small like this, it was more than worth it.
Aena:
Aena left Miwa to get some punch, but then she realized she couldn’t drink it. She sat down, still holding the red cup in her hands.

Tom:
Tom followed Dovaro outside of the forge and continued slightly after him to the party. He saw the wavering Miwa and activated him technique. At only a glance, he was able to tell something was wrong. “Miwa, are you okay?” She was someone who seldom showed her uneasiness.
Her temperature is normal and I don’t sense any toxins, but maybe she’s running low on magic?
Tom started to count the number of psions around her, but as he reached a conclusion he realized a cruel fact: by himself he has no way to restore her, and he can’t just light the floor on fire like before. Nor was his new tool ready yet. He saw that Dova was asleep.
“Is anyone here able to produce heat? Surely you, Takra? Jerrel?”
Aena:
Aena excused herself of Kuze and ran a scan on Miwa.
All vitals normal. Perfectly healthy.
She overrided her diagnosis when she optically saw she was unwell. Without a diagnosis, the uneasy android had no way to help. She proposed that it was a problem of a magic cause, which she couldn’t solve anyway.
-
Tom:
“I was just going to ask if you make me a portable combustion engine. If it’s too much of a hassle, then we can do it after the party. After all, if everyone’s here, then I guess it isn’t dangerous, in fact that new demon seems pretty benevolent. Anyway, I should be grateful.”
Aena:
“Hello. How did you know?” she asked without noticing the cord in her hand. “My name is Aena. I am quite pleased to make acquaintanceship with you”. She detected the electronic components in his head. She regarded it as a fault in her visual sensors.
-
Tom:
Tom felt another demonic presence, one far stronger than anything he had ever encountered. “Dova, do you mind if I stay here for a while ’till I know what’s going on. Actually, I need your help on something.”
Aena:
Aena grew frustrated when she couldn’t charged with all the magic and whatnot in the air. In her spontaneous curiosity (it had been her first and cardinal emotion), she walked briskly to the sources: an air manipulator, a magic user, a developing psionic, a demon’s vassal, a hybrid fighter, a grand titan, and a young girl, who seemed like a witch. She forgot that she didn’t have permission to be on the property, but stayed glued as seemingly unrelated events unfolded.
-
Tom:
“Hello, Dova, what do you mean.”
Tom looked outside and his jaw dropped.
“I know I overused my powers, but I think I might be hallucinating .”
Tom used his blankness and saw that indeed, the field beyond the school had actually changed magically. He sensed the magic coming from Michael and went towards him, excusing himself from Dovaro.
Aena:
Aena rushed and ran and scuttled into the building, looking desperately for a power outlet. She nearly ran into a lone student who was roaming the halls. She plugged herself in the library, but she was interrupted when she sensed magical signatures. Her optical and audio sensors went haywire, but she realized that the music and flora she saw were actually real.

Gift or Talent (Power, Demon, Animal person etc.): Computer powered ballistic and laser weapons systems; superhuman inception and processing power. Reinforced high metal frame, many micro-motors thus giving her unrealistic strength.
Back story: Aena was the first and only in a line of robots to truly emulate human emotions. She was stolen by a militant group before she was completed and therefore lacks some emotion. Just after she was made into a weapon she managed to escape. Now she travels to look for a place to plug in her batteries.
Goal(s): Systemize and learn of her emotions.
Good or Evil: good
Subject you study: Sociology and psychology
Live in the school: Yes
Other: Language program is faulty, randomly translates from language to language, and sometimes fails to recognize idioms. -
Tom heeded his warnings and coughed up a little blood. He half-limped to a chair and sat until he regained his wits.
Damn, I didn’t use enough heat. Two transmutations within a short time really killed me. But that’s right, I have to get stronger. I wonder if the forge is available.
Tom went to his room and actually rested. He studied a little more metallurgy and headed to the now empty forge and fiddled with the unfamiliar tools and materials.
If nothing, I can try out a new technique soon. It works in theory, and now I’ll have ace in the hole.
-
Tom had seen enough.
In theory, I can fuel a transmutation with heat.
He ripped the carpet (the damage should be nothing compared to Bryne and Takra fighting) and set it ablaze. He drew a circle with a 7-1 configuration and took out some bullets. He alchemized using the flame, and since he change wasn’t that great, he could tip his bullets with silver, a metal with anti-demon properties. He head back and focused harder. He shot 3 bullets at each Takra and Bryne.
“Forgive me, but this isn’t the place or time to fight.”
If it hits, it’ll nullify their healing and lead to a shorter fight. At the very least, it’ll draw their attention and I can abscond. If it comes to it, I’ll finally show my true strength. Unlike that golem, these guys are tangible.

Tom sat wearily in the library when he heard the crackling of fire, the boys’ taunts, etc. He walked casually to the source of the sound and found Jerrel and Takra, as well as two people he hadn’t seen before. Suddenly, his ancestry reacted.
Eh, what’s there to cause this.
He scanned the vicinity.
Alright, looks like Takra is engaging someone. I already know that he hosts Kurama, the lord of the kitsune. Every slayer would be able to tell that. But there’s something more. It hurts, knowing subconsciously of the danger. One of the new kids has an aura and biochemical composition similar to Godal, so they must be related. But that other new kid, the skinny one, maybe he’s the cause of my anticipation. His composition is just like a human’s, but he has… silicon…and extra calcium. Something about him is very off, very off. He’s even more of a monster than the two demons. It would be advantageous for me to watch and learn, but something inside me is yearning to intervene.
-
The exhausted Tom put away and said, “Hello” to the boy who just entered, as warmly as he could. At the moment, he changed subjects from machinery to string theory.
Destruction is just as east to me as Synthesis, but if I can’t produce a substance, I’ll suffer unimaginable recoil. Maybe with this I can manipulate substances better without transmutation. Anyway, I wonder where Dova and Jerrel ran off to.
Tom heard growling winds and a few loud thuds and he had a little idea.
-
Tom congratulated Ash on her/his newest achievement and left to his dorm. He tidied himself up and sharpened his sword, which he blunted as he made sparks with it. He went to library alone, this time to study alchemy.
Ok, right now, I can synthesize three compounds from the materials in the air without magic: Cyanide, alkanes, and alcohol. To actually do a transmutation, I need to provide energy, it doesn’t have to be magic. I have to find a device which I can fuel with an alkane to provide thermal energy.
That aside I have to work on physical skills too. Since Takra holds one of the strongest demons in history, I can never exceed that. Jerrel too, can increase his physical power with his wind manipulation.
No, I shouldn’t be so competitive, I can still grow strong even if I’m weaker. Other than pure practice, I have to start on that contraption.
Tom started, his new tool would need variable air intake valves. And something to ignite whatever fuel he put in it. He stopped when he did have a vague idea.
-
Tom took it and wore it with great pride. Then, he continued on his merry way with Dovaro.
No, I don’t think that there’s need for any concern. The only question is, I have to find a way to transmute things with my own power.
