Andaluza looked at Pandora’s feathers over and over. “Hey, Pandora, we need to restore some of the OGA experimentation on you. The waterproofing qualities of your feathers are gone.” Andaluza lifted Apollo’s wing and his own, showing that they were both perfectly clean.

Andaluza followed Apollo into the swamp, but soon began to shudder. “Ew. And humans call me a slob!” Andaluza looks around the area for solid ground, then turns his eyes to the water, taking a handful of water and drinking it. “Hmm, tastes like waste products and pollution. What kind of people even live here?”

Andaluza went in the pod and waited. “So what do we do once we get there?”

Andaluza held out the fire extinguisher at the dummies. “I dunno it’s just that you and Apollo are the two most destructive beings that have ever existed. And why do I need a fire extinguisher? I’m an Ascendii!”

Andaluza followed Pandora. “Apollo, keep doing your thing, I’ll go check on her.” Andaluza then grabbed a fire extinguisher and ran after Pandora.

Andaluza shrugged. “Choose which you want to use. We can eventually earn enough credits to make a sword melter, and you can combine them.”

Andaluza commed into the normal OGA feed and listened for disasters around the galaxy. “Okay, first stop, the court where Calypsa is. We should at least show up in our mission suits.”

Andaluza gave Pandora her old sword back. “It must be something made of ardite. It’s supposed to lower your abilities slightly, giving you more control.” Andaluza gave Pandora the book, opening to the metals list.

Ascendii are designed to be warriors, therefore, are affected by certain metals in their proximity. Child Teethers are made from amberite, promoting bone growth, so the baby gets a healthy set of 48 teeth. Here is a full list.

Iron – Promotes brainwaves, creating strong electrical pulses in the form of thoughts. However, has magnetic power, so it might cut the Ascendii.

Cobalt – Amplifies abilities and performance at the cost of self-control and reserve. Soldiers wear cobalt-chain leggings at war.

Osmium – The densest pure element. Promotes a dark attitude and the urge to do naughty things, enhancing the user’s thermokinesis.

Hexyullyn – The perfect material that can be lifted and moved by electric current, making it a great building material. Affects nothing but promotes blood flow.

Silicon – The base of all Ascendii cells. No harmful effects to exposure.

Germanium – A paralyzing fluid that soon makes the Ascendii lose control of their limbs, disabling their abilities.

Quadryullyn – Causes deepening of the voice and causes an SL translation as long as exposure. Should not be used anywhere, can make Ascendii dangerous.

Andaluza looked at the seal and felt it. “It feels like cobalt. Ascendii were designed to be warriors, so they have reaction to certain metals. Cobalt is dangerous, Apollo. While it maximizes performance, it causes power hunger. I don’t need any more of that in my life.”

Andaluza shrugged and put the book back on its pedestal. “You know what, if we learn too much our faces might explode. Let’s go back to the main room and conduct a search for Katherine or Jack.”

Andaluza sarcastically laughed at that. “Congratulations Pandora! I can generate a hurricane with my lungs and Apollo can create electric earthquakes, but you decided to set pencils on fire!” (Out of character, Andaluza doesn’t find metal ignition a very useful ability but he’ll come around.)

Andaluza flipped the pages again. “You know what, you choose your own thing. Here, take this book.” Andaluza handed Pandora the book.

Andaluza flipped through the pages and found something. “Pandora, here’s something you might want to try.”

Static Spin – A simple way to dodge attacks. Perform a front flip in the air and electrocute yourself. The rest should follow.

Andaluza carefully listened. “What about you, Apollo? You can infiltrate OGA bases of the highest security and you can navigate mazes that take people days in just a few minutes. You can literally dodge a bullet. And you’re able to use a shockwave. You better not appear in the news as the guy who blast waved someone into a volcano. In fact, I’d not want to see that you’re the guy who made the volcano erupt.”

Andaluza laughed and tried it Apollo’s method, not making it work. “I think these are compartmentalized. I can do the pressurized exhalation and Apollo can’t without running into the walls, but I can’t see shit with this! I think they’re ranked based on strength, speed, or agility. I’m strong, Pandora’s agile, and Apollo’s fast. Although I’d call him destructive, if that was an option.”
