(What s the best way to put it… if you know anything about D&D or Pathfinder, Lilt is styled after one of them. A jack of all trades when it comes to melee combat and magic, but a master of buffing, and demoralizing his enemies with haunting tunes)
Lilt turns to the old woman and bows respectfully. “How do you do, my lady?”
-
Besides a small glint in his eye, Lilt makes no attempt to acknowledge the humerous background events. “Healing you say? I know a song or two that could heal some minor wounds, but nothing that might mend broken bones or ruptured organs. On the other hand, my specialty is not necessarily combat itself, but inspiring my allies to do better at their own individualized roles and provide support. For exanple, my songs could help alleviate fatigue, cause your strikes to come much quicker and stronger, and even help break free of min controlling effects.” He smiles proudly. “That last bit has saved my life on more than one occasion when some enchantor decided to turn my allies against each other. Nasty stuff, mind controllig magic is.”
-
Lilt turns to Dante and smiles. “A lover of the arts, I see… well, my music is strange in many ways. I could either produce sonic blasts to hurt those who threaten me or my allies, or perhaps even deafen them with concentrated waves of music that only they could hear… sort of like taking a person and attaching their head to the stereo system at a metal concert. Oh! And I can also knock people unconcscious with the blasts, but that takes quite a bit of energy.” He says all this with a sort of unnerving ease, not once losing his smile.
-
“Lute,” Lilt gently corrects with a smile. “It is a lute. But in all, within me I possess the power of… music. Oh well it is technically called sound magic, but I know better.”
-
Lilt smiles, shaking his head as he straps his lute to his shoulders. “You lot are quite intriguing to listen to. The conversations on my airship are… quite different to say the least.” He seems to study each individual in the area with care, nodding all the while. “Yes, you all seem quite unique.”
-
Upon being invited to participate on the mission, Lilt bows low to the floor in a sign of respect. “It would be an honor to join you. Perhaps, it will give me an opportunity to get to know you all better.”
-
Lilt shrugs his shoulders as he receives the explanation of the guild system. “To be honest, I don’t know anyone outside my own guild. They raised me as family so… I don’t think I will be leaving them any time soon.” His lips widen into yet another smile. “But as far as I know, my allegiances do not stop me from making friends in the other guilds. If anything, as a bard, it should be encouraged. Diplomatic missions and all.” He looks to the door somewhat surprised as he hears the knock and sees Dante rush to open it. “Looks like there is to be a party…”
-
Lilt raises an eyebrow. “Join the… join the Southern Wolves? now that certainly is an interesting proposition…” He seems to ponder it over in his own mind for a few seconds. “Well, if it doesn’t disqualify me from my other memberships.” He loosens his his jacket to reveal the symbol of Grimoire Heart, a major dark guild, tattooed onto his chest. “You see, I uh… seem to already be a guild member.”
-
Lilt gives another smile when he sees the two looking at him. “Why hello there.” He says, giving a wide and extravagant bow. “I truly am sorry, I sort of… wandered in.” He looks around and nods approvingly. “This certainly is a great place, I truly am glad to be here. It sure does beat the sweltering heat I feel every day back home on that airship…”
-
A young man sits down just out of site, playing a soft tune on a massively oversized lute. He grins over at the others within view and gives a small wave. “Hello all, I hope I am not interrupting anything.” He looks back to his lute and frowns, tuning one of the strings. “My name is Lilt the Bard… and I was hoping this would be a place I could make new friends.”

This is my application. I hope it is enough.
Name: Lilt the Bard
Guild: Grimoire Heart
Guild Mark Location: Chest
Guild Mark Color: Red
Height: 5″11
Age: 18
Appearance: Lilt has tanned skin due to his constant exposure to the sun on his Guild’s airship. He has long brown hair and dark brown eyes as well as a small amount of facial hair which he keeps trimmed.
Clothing: So as not to be burned and yet also not die of heat stroke on the airship, he wears a silk turban over his head as well as a loose (yet obviously elegant) jacket which is open enough to expose the large tattoo of his Guild symbol on his chest.
Magic: Sound Magic. As a Bard, Lilt casts his spells by singing or playing a song on his lute. When stealth is required, he tends to whistle a tune so that he sounds like a desert bird.
Weapon: Interestingly enough, Lilt’s oversized lute also functions as a halberd. He styled it specifically so that he would never be defenseless, even when casting his spells.
Abilities: Though he can do well enough in a fight with his lute/halberd hybrid, Lilt prefers to use his magic to deal with threats. When stealth is required, he surrounds himself in a sphere of silence and when forced into combat, he uses his spells to play keep away, hindering his opponent’s movement by either pushing them away with sonic booms or going on the offensive with vicious melodies.
Other than that, Lilt the Bard is a talented musician, trained in both the art of lute playing as well as song.
Personality: For someone who as aligned himself with dark forces, Lilt is a jovial sort, always ready to liven up people’s days. As someone who is quite amiable, he goes out of his way to make friends in unlikely places, including in other guilds… after all, no one knows when such connections to be useful. That being said, when he must get his hands dirty, he prefers to leave no evidence of his involvement (and thus, no survivors). This is all practical of course, and he might even show an ounce of sadness after completing such nefarious deeds… but he realizes that the path to power is paved with casualties.
Background:
Lilt is an odd case; neither he nor anyone else he knows could tell you what his story was. One day, at the age of 14, he simply… appeared on the Grimoire Heart’s airship, with a lute in his hand and a song on his lip. Quickly discovering that the lad had amnesia, they found no reason to simply toss him off the ship, instead, deciding to train him and take him in as one of their own. Quickly becoming talented in the use of Sound Magic, Lilt has proven to be a valuable asset to the Grimoire Heart Guild, and is not below taking any job for them. After all, he would do anything for the people who showed him so much kindness… and promised him so much power.
