Ms. Vine turned back to Rea from where she stood in the doorway of her office, a smile coming to her face as she walked back in. “Yes, Ms. Hartfeld. The door should be under one of the sinks in the girl’s bathroom…although I cannot remember which one exactly. The third or second, maybe.” She sat down in her sterotypical ‘principal’ long back chair to fold her hands together. “Have you thought over the questions? How far your parents live from the school, their business here, and why your brother and you were not brought with them here? Unless you live fairly close to the school, which the closest neighborhood I know is about a good 20-to thirty minutes away, why would they leave you unattended for so long?”

“Boys dorms are not really separate.” Laughed the head mistress. “However, there are magic principles that keep our students from…activity on campus. If you will please come with me…” She walked to the entry of a hall, and to one of the yellow-orange torches posted there. “Okay, then,” She grabbed a small vial of white powder before sprinkling some in a flame. “Right this way, young man,” Ms. Vine smiled her blond hair tinting green as the fire popped, turning a toxic kind of lime green color. “On this piece of paper right your name before throwing it into the flames. This will determine your room number.” She smiled brightly, holding out a slip of paper.

“I liked him.” Said a dark haired woman to the blond headmistress. Ms. Claude. “Well, I have to hurry to Illusionary classes and…” They both stared at the hooded boy that had enetered the school some time ago, passing by them twice now. “Excuse me,” Ms. Vine called out, “How can I help you? Are you lost?” At the look on his face, she smiled, “Don’t worry dear, I’m the head mistress.” Ms. Vine looked over at Ms. Claude quickly, “And make sure the catacomb is cleaned and a spell ready. I’ve requested some strainers from the W.I.TA. We have only tonight until tomorrow night begins.” Ms. Claude nodded before smiling at the seemingly new student before heading off toward the hall of magic to go to class.

“Did you? Haha, sorry.” She laughed, stopping abruptly when they came out of the hall of magic where rows of classrooms were. “Whew, that thing made me dizzy, how about you?” Piper nudged him with her elbow a bit before pointing over to a classroom where the tiles around it changed from boring bricks to birds that would fly around chirping something about illusionary magic before returning back to the holes they created to become bricks once again. “I think that’s the place.” She moved over to the iron door to pull at the handles that turned into snakes before she could grab onto them. They looked pretty harmless, but she still jumped back biting down shriek.
-
“Huh? Oh, by the goddess Athena you scared me!” Piper laughed, slowing down to fall into step with Ace. “Sorry. So, what class are you going to?” She handed the map over, the winding hall’s walls pushing their route mersely around, so that sometimes she’d bump his upper arm with her shoulder. “I have Transfiguration first.”
-
“Alright, bye!” Piper threw over her shoulder before speed walking down a hall that winded…and as she walked it wormed back and forth, the walls shifting. “Eh? This school is so weird…” She murmured, looking up at the distorting ceiling that seemed like it was either caving in or doming out. “Maybe this is the Magic Hall stated in the brochure.” The dark haired girl’s moccasins skidded to a stop before frowning as it felt like something was watching her. Biting her lip she slowly turned around to look over her shoulder only for nothing to be there. “…Okay then..”
-
“Wow. Sounds pretty cool.” She smiled, “but yeah, Liv is right. We should all get to class. Who knows which teachers are the wackos and who are the nice guys?” Piper grinned, moving to leave the breakfast room, map in hand.
-
“No problem.” She said, moving from the breakfast room which was rapidly cleaning itself up. “I bet you’ll be a wizard at transfiguration.”
-
“Still, that was really cool!” Piper smiled excitedly, stepping closer. “It’s a true talent to shapeshift, you know, and most people can’t even get a knack of it.”
-
“Yeah, they are different. I hope Ms. Vine is okay.” Piper said before standing up with a stretch. “You about done there Gold, Liv? We all have Transfiguration, yes?”
-
“Attention students! Please be on time for your first class that starts in 15 minutes! Since today is a first day tardies will not count against you however on normal days hall sweeps will be performed throughout the school to ensure students attend class. Thank you!” Ms. Claude, for some reason, was on the loud speaker today rather than Ms. Vine.
-
“Ahh, not really. It’s really Goldmyth.” She smiled, thinking of Goldmyth’s luck with familiars.
~~“Yes. Ace, a true pleasure to meet you.” Her black eyes gleamed, and she looked around before jumping off the bench, and wagging her tail at them.. “Classes begin soon. I care to be punctual, so if you would excuse me.” She grinned wolfish-y before taking off.
-
Piper, not feeling very hungry, grabbed a banana and apple juice. “Oh how I miss just blending my breakfast together.” She sighed, peeling the banana open. “Now I actually have to chew things.” She rolled her eyes playfully, sitting down at a table near the arctic fox. “Hey…um…Icey?” Piper asked, biting into the banana and looking at the shorter fox.
~~
“It’s Aurora.” The fox corrected, not meanly, before looking over at Liv. “Nice to see you Piper, Liv.”
-
“Aight mates, see you later then!” She bounded out after her friend, a grin on her face as she headed down to the breakfast room with Liv.
~~
Aurora sat her head down on the table with a sigh. -
“Aaah! Thank god. At least I have one class with a friend.” She grinned thankful. “Well, we should all get breakfast first, yeah?”
-
Piper smiled at the cloak Ace was wearing and nodded. “Pretty cool. By the way, where did you get that cloak? It has an awesome mysterious feel to it. Very witchy. It’d be pretty cool to wear that in the human world.” She cracked a smile at Goldmyth bringing up last night’s…occurence before turning to the door. “First hour, transfiguration. Anyone else have transfiguration this time?”

“Ah, Mr. Monty, we’re having a bit of a long discussion. How can I help you?” She asked, smiling to Ms. Hartfeld. “When you’re ready, tell the quill the answers to my questions when I help him. I know these questions seem personal, but it’ll help us on our search.”

Aurora ran down to the breakfast room to chow down on some meat after leaving the letter shreds on the floor. There was no card, points, or key for any room. Instead on a ripped piece the letter said, no familiars require keys or cards as their DNA is on file. Blood covered her muzzle, as Auror lifted her head up tiredly from her meat and she looked around the table where she sat alone. Foxes were never very social creatures, but she felt old and lonely and that is why she had come to this school. To bond with someone, understand them fully, and die happily. Whether it be by their side fighting or in a hospital bed. She also wanted familiars for friends, too, but hadn’t seen Raven in a while. And the Swift was sleeping so dreamily she didn’t want to wake the small creature up with a fright.
