Aurora looked over at the mountain he was referring to. “Right. I believe you…Mr. Dragon…” She took a bite of a piece of sushi whole. “My powers are very strong, my ice like the heart of the North.”

    ~~~
    Piper’s frowned, “Uh…did you just eat a rock?” She snatched one of the sushi plates to take a bite of it. “Ooh…lobster..” She examined Goldmyth from where she stood next to Liv.
    Piper’s eyes widened. “You have a weapon concealed on your person? Wow, badass. That’s actually a really cool knife, mate, can I take a look? Is it enchanted?” She asked quietly, edging them away from the dancing teachers a bit.
    ~~~
    “I may be small, Raven, but I have the heart and soul to do this.” She grinned at him, letting her head bow a bit in greeting. “I’m Aurora. I would say that you’re a bit small for this too, but I’m guessing that is not your full form?”

    “Uh, yeah, hi. I’m Piper.” Piper waved awkwardly, watching as Goldmyth ran off somewhere. Shortly later a dragon waltzed up, stealing the white fox away from them.

    ~~~~
    Aurora grinned at them, her canines showing, “I am Aurora. A true pleasure to meet you.” She looked over to the dragon startled at the sight of a mythical familiar approaching her. Rumor was that those things were vicious and rude. “Hello there.”
    Aurora sighs. ”Thank you young lady. At least someone knows manners here.” She reached up with her mouth again to clamp it around the plate to take back down to her height. She set the plate in the grass. “Anyways, what might your names be?”
    “There you guys are..” Piper huffed as she moved beside Goldmyth and Liv. She narrowed her eyes the white arctic fox growling low beneath them. “What’s your problem?
    ~~
    Me? get in your way?!” Growled Aurora, looking at her sushi as it lay in the grass. “Listen to me, young lady, I am nearly a hundred years old. I do not need to be mouthed off by some punk little witch!” She clawed at the ground, her tail flicking back and forth. Am I really supposed to find a bonded here?
    “B-But I’m in my pajamas!” Piper squinted at the clock and gritted her teeth before jogging after both blondes. “Hey! Wait up!” She grinned as golden orbs of light swarmed around her as she trekked along. They almost felt…warm…
    Around the corner and towards an open doorway to the night, what she saw outside brought a bit more of a bounce to her step.
    ~~~~

    Tables with plastic party cloth draped over them held bowls of chips, dip, and sparkling punch, on small plates floating around were tiny sandwiches and sushi. Golden orbs of light similar to the ones that led half the crowd her bobbed around lazily like Chinese lanterns. But their shine was nothing compared to those of the stars white glow, the reflecting of the lake making it even more majestic. Music could be heard somewhere, full of 2014’s 15’s latest hits…some students danced, while others laughed and criticized the teacher’s doing the Marciano and ‘the sprinkler’.

    ~~~
    Aurora padded through the grass toward where one of the floating plates held sushi. With a wolfish grin, she casually kicked a paw forward underneath it making a fountain of ice capture the plate. Reaching up, she bit onto it and the ice cracked. ”I’ll just take this…” Her voice said, muffled, as she loped towards the lake…but not before she crashed into a long golden haired girl, sushi flying all over. “Hey!” She shouted to the witch, who was screaming something about an ugly nose. “My sushi!”
    (Here’s your chance to have the familiars and students interact….( ́ ◕◞ε◟◕`) )
    “Uh…Bambot? Okay.” She rose a brow, “You must be from Scotland, then. I had suscpiciouns maybe Ireland but that really gave yourself away, mate.” She grinned lamely. “I’m Piper. Anyway, Shapeshifting magic? What course will that require?” She smoothed her hair a bit.
    ~~~~~
    “Excuse me all students! Those who were able to settle into your dorms please report to the lake beside our school for a evening announcement! A welcome party will held for both familiars and magic users! If you do not know where the lake is please follow the orbs of light running through the building. Beverages and snacks will also be served! Welcome to your new school!” The Headmistress’s voice rang through the building as golden orbs of light formed and began running through the main halls like a river, and a stray ball down the dorm room halls drift to go join the crowd.

    ~~~
    Aurora sat up from where she’d been dozing off, and shook her fur out with a small growl. ”Why is it always a party with witches? Its the only thing they do, really.” But she knew why. Witches loved to party because of the numbers around them, the energy and magic that made them dizzy with power from one another.
    “What?” Steam came from the bathroom as Piper stumbled out, her eyes darker without the blue contacts in–as dark as night–and over them thick black rimmed glasses. “You’ve been reading what wrong?” She tossed her bundle of clothes into the hamper like she was shooting a basket before sliding on her slippers and hopping onto the bed next to Liv. “Oh, right, we aven’t exactly exchanged names have we? I’m Piper.” She held out a hand as an offering of friendship. Lord knew she didn’t need to have an enemy as a roommate.
    “Alright.” She headed into the bathroom.
    Piper smiled at her new companion’s choice in reading. Shapeshifting was no amaturere’s read. She began to take her hair down from its complication of braids to let the dying curls hang on her shoulders. Her bag had unpacked itself and left assorted her clothes into the walk-in closet they were to share and her dresser. “I guess I’ll be the first to shower?” She asked her in her semi-thick accent, moving over to the dresser to start getting her pjs out.
    She stared at its eyes which seemed to glare at her. “You know what? I’m gonna go unpack.” She moved past the two blonds, into the room to kick off her heels and jog over to the closest queen sized bed. The room was fairly big, and common. She was glad she hadn’t gotten one of those old fashioned rooms. Her bedding probably would have clashed with everything. Thinking of bedding she pulled up the plastic bedding before pushing back her sleeve for the telekinesis spell again. Her bedding removed itself from the package, and the sheets already on the bed started to strip off.
    “Oh. It’s the reptilian thing from before.” She stepped back from it, looking skeptical. “So, I’m going to take a wild guess and say on your way here you got caught in a three-year-old’s basket at some arts and crafts store?” She asked referring to the feather on him with a grin. Her English accent was thick, but Northern American seemed apparent there too.
    “Hey there mates.” Piper waved to the girl coming out of the room, and to the golden haired girl. “…You’re both blond! I’m so jealous.” She pushed back her dark bangs from her cat curved eyes.
    Piper had missed the announcement that everyone was buzzing about, but the English girl was able to pick up the snags of conversation that came about: ‘Magic torches’, ‘Familiars’, ‘Familiars!’. She grinned, trying to contain her excitement as she looked upward, catching a glimpse of a reptilian looking creature only with feathered wings…She squinted. A dragon. Mythical creatures were a rare sight in familiars. Just as quickly as she saw the dragon, just as quickly it disappeared from her sight. Piper kept herself from squealing. It wasn’t good for her image. She moved over to a green torch that was spitting out crisp little papers for students to snatch up before whisking themselves away. Piper followed suit, scratching her name down on a piece of paper before tossing it in. The paper that spat back out roughly said ‘109’. “How did they get ‘109’ from the name Piper?” She squinted at the paper in the light as if she could see some sort of scam on it. Nope. So she just trekked toward her room, ducking and diving around students of all ages before finally coming to her room, luggage somehow coming in once piece behind her. Clearing her throat,  she knocked on the door.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Aurora found her room, 66, and holed down in a doggy bed enjoying the comfort it gave her. The room was painted white, and the carpeting was dark blue. “I wonder if they’ll have familiar’s pair up in rooms…most likely…” She murmured to herself, wondering if someone really out of all those faces was her ‘bonded’.

    “Aight then! Mum, Pops, I’ll see you sometime around Thanksgiving! You know they celebrate that here? Well, ciao!” Piper slammed the door to the van, waving at her smaller brother who had his stingers fingers so jammed up his mouth she expected to see them pocking out his nose soon. She stepped back from the van, hair swinging, and waved off her parents as they drove away. Piper grinned, balling her hands into a fist to pump it. “Aight then, now…what was that spell?” She shoved back her sleeve to read over the simple words every child witch should have learned if raised properly. She read it so fast it started to slur into gibberish, and her four bags began to float up like balloons, bouncing against once another as they bobbed in the air. “Can you believe some people can actually just do that in their heads?” She shook her head before striding into the school.

    ~~~
    Aurora padded through the entry hall, trekking away from the large crowd of familiars, warlocks, and witches that gathered near the stair case and clung to the edges of the hallways–throwing in slips of paper with their names on into the fire for the words to disfigure and change into a room number. Aurora already found her name lamely on one of the scrolls of paper floating around, and intended to hide in her room for as long as possible to wait for this wave of excitement of new students in a new place to crash over.
