Blaise stepped back quickly, avoiding the pot’s broken shards by turning her shoulder. “Do not hurt the cook! She makes good food!” Shouted Pyralis even though he’d never tasted anything the woman made he knew the energy Blaise drew from that weird smelling stuff was quite essential, and practically sent vibes buzzing Blaise’s way, making adrenaline flood her veins. She reached down to clamp her hand to the hilt across her hip, drawing Pyralis and darting forward swiftly.

“Pardon me all students,” The announcement echoed through the school. “The left wing’s lower floor has been destroyed to the point of no quick repair. This means, of course, that the left lower wing to a certain point is off-limits and have wards posted around the damaged floor to keep nosy students out of harm’s way. Please note that classrooms F-3 to F-12 are off-limits as well, and your new places for learning these principles are posted in the lounge. Some of you may be outside, others will have to take turns of using new rooms until we are able to fix the problems caused. Other than that, please continue your normal day without delay. Breakfast specials today is a fruit salad and bacon wrapped bagel with cream cheese. That is all. Thank you.” Ms. Vine’s voice sounded especially cross and exasperated–a tone almost never taken with her students until now.
It awoke Piper with a twinge of guilt, and she rubbed her eyes. “Wow…Never heard Ms. Vine sound that way.” She said rather quietly, almost to herself.
-
“What…the…” She tried to stop her hand from closing into a fist, but that was inevitable at the sound of the crash below. Her fist torched as she moved toward her door-way, shrugging off her lab-coat which was singed from that fist. “I have…no idea…” The scream of the cook downstairs jerked her into a sprint, where the red-head nearly tripped over the hybrid. “Get out! Get out of my kitchen!” The woman screamed, hysteric, throwing a pot at the white haired girl’s face.
-
“And it twould seem she fell asleep.” The woman shook her head, and tossed a thinner blanket on top of the wolf. She reached up to caress the petals of a fresh bud, her voice thoughtful, “it twould seem dis year is gonna be much more interestin’ then any of us thought…”
-
“Ah…dere ain’t much ta say, lass, just that those flowers are magic in dere own sense.” She shrugged, “Soothin’ properties and brings ta smiles with dere beauty gifted ta dem by nature.”
-
“Its magic, in a sense.” She smiled wistfully. “Not tampered with by witches, no, just a normal but ancient magic left to us by mother nature herself. There was magic in this world before witches, you know,”
-
“Well, then,” She stood up. “I will leave you all to your rest tonight. However, you must understand these charges and problems with our school will deserve some consequences.”
“They bring smiles to faces.” She smiled, softly, and grabbed the pail of Pentas to move over to a walled off room of the greenhouse to dump them on a table.
-
“Are you aware of the danger down there? How forbidden that place is?” She said irritatedly.
“Pentas flowers.” She murmured, snipping at the flowers some more.
-
“A project?” She rose a brow, “Where were you getting your materials from?” She sat down daintily on the chair, pulling out a pencil from her hair bun and scratching down some notes. “A project for what?”
“We were helping Abilard and Liv on their project for a class–We needed some ingredients.” Piper said quietly.
-
“We will leave him here.” Ms. Vine said shortly, her shoes clicking out and waiting for Piper to follow before slamming the door shut. “I will send someone to watch over him later. In the time being I expect everyone to find me in the infirmary.” She clicked all the way down the and into the infirmary, slamming the door open. “Okay! Who the hell would like to start explaining first?”
-
“Its okay…” Claude said a bit quietly, and led the two into the nurse’s room, where the nurses began to flit around Liv immediately, putting her on one of the hospital beds and checking to see what was wrong with her.

Orsin was carried into the aclhemy room, where Ms. Vine grabbed a syringe to begin adding herbs in to press it down into a green liquid form. “Orsin, this will only feel like a prick.” Ms Vine moved over to him, pressing the needle into the side of his furry neck. “Now…sleep, and enjoy it.“ -
“Goldmyth!” Ms. Claude said sharply, “Grab her legs. Now, come on! We do not know what is wrong with her, she could have a broken rib puncturing her lung now is not the time!” Ms. Claude seemed about ready to panic, but she bit her lip and grabbed the female’s upper half, gesturing for Goldmyth to grab the lower so they could head to the nurse.
-
“Just relax,” The elder woman said, and hummed a bit as she picked up some sheers to prune her flowers, her face creased in thought
-
“Miss. Goldmyth.” Ms. Claude said sternly, “Please focus on the task at hand, helping your friend who helped you.” She gestured toward Liv’s legs.
~~
“I’m sorry, Orsin,” Piper murmured to him through giritted teeth at the strain happening. “What are you going to do with him?” The dark haired girl looked over at the taller lighter haired woman. “Rest assured, Orsin will simply be put to sleep until we can figure out why he attacked someone–and I say put to sleep in the sense of a sleeping potion.” She reforced at Piper’s worried look.
-
<em style=”line-height: 1.5;”>”Okay her ribs may be cracked.” Ms. Claude grabbed Liv and hefted her up in her arms, “Ms. Claude!” Ms. Vine was walking down the hall, her gray trench coat billowing behind her and her black pumps clicking across the granite floors. “What is going on here?” Her hair for the most part was pinned up, revealing her furious green eyes. “Orsin attacked you?” Her eyes darkened and Genie made a shrill sound. The golden monkey spoken up for her witch, “A familiar attacking his partner…This is not a good sign.” Genie shook her head. “We will take care of Orsin, Goldmyth I expect you to attend with the nurse’s room with your fellow student.” Ms. Vine said with a ‘no-nonsense’ tone. It was clear the once quite calm teacher was at the end of her wit. “And you, please assist me with this bear.” She began a levitation spell on his back paws lifting him up, and Piper assisted with the front with her own levitation spell. Ms. Vine led Orsin’s body down the hall, into the shadows of another hall.

“Okay, lay yerself down here and rest.” The elder woman motioned to a corner she had in the warm green-house, where she’d tossed a quilt and a small throw pillow there where the corner was canopied with luscious leaves with red little flowers.
