SAL seems to be waiting, and Odysseus questions him, “SAL, what aren’t you telling me?” SAL continues to hesitate, and then responds, ‘Sir, do you recall their reports of experimentation in Omega Particles?’ “Of course, SAL.” ‘Well, they seem to have figured out how to… How to convert a planet with them… Into energy. They’re destroying the planet’s matter, and consuming the energy.’

After SAL hesitates, Odysseus yells at him, “Tell me, SAL! How many estimated casualties? TELL ME!” SAL seems to clear his electronic throat, and mumbles softly ’1.2 Trillion. They took about 12 billion children of varying races, but every other person they killed. The OGA didn’t even get a scratch. What’s odd is that this was not in any of the OGA chatter, indicating that this has been planned for several years covertly, with orders already in the ships themselves.’

Odysseus sees the video footage, and stops breathing for a moment, overcome with anger and grief. “SAL,” he cries, “the other worlds… Please tell me that they are faring be-” ‘Sir… I’m sorry.’ Odysseus slams the table, and stares down. “How many causualties?” ‘…’

Odysseus pulls up the live video feed. “This is the best I have…” As he glances at the video and flips through various camera angles, the depiction is horrific. The land is scarred on the planet, one of the 573 being invaded, and the building and skyscrapers are in shambles. Corpses lay on the ground, and a strange purple column of light can be seen flowing away from the planet towards a large sphere suspended above one of the poles, as the beam of light seems to reach all the way down into a deep dark abyss. Around the light column, the planet has scars forming and the soil takes on a gray and black, ash-like hue, slowly inching out from the epicenter.

“I’ll explain. Come with me. I don’t even quite understand what is going on yet myself, but SAL is patching a video link into the conference room. The OGA have made a big play, and I received billions of distress signals from 573 worlds. Something bad is happening.” Odysseus opens the door, and a large table with a holographic projector in the center reads ‘Standby’.

Odysseus steps aroumd the corner. “They have nowhere to go. Everyone here, group meeting. Follow me.” Odysseus begins to lead everyone to a large conference room inside the ship.

Odysseus navigates the ship in, docks, and boards.

Odysseus’ ship appears off of the prow of their ship, and Odysseus quickly hails them. “Permission to dock. Now.”

As Odysseus sits in his ship, a red alarm goes off, then again, and again, and again. Buttons light up across his dashboard, and red marks appear across his monitors. “What the…? SAL, what the hell’s going on?!” ‘Sir, there are roughly 537 planets sending out distress signals, all localized within one region on the outskirts of the inhabited universe. Billions of signals from the planets… I don’t quite know what to make of all of it.’ “SAL, get us to the others. Quickly.” The ship increases in speed.

Ozymandias continues to walk through the hallways, until he feels an eery presence behind him. He turns around and sees a frozen corpse, identical looking to the woman who stepped out of the pillar and staring at him. He looks away and back again, and she seems to have come closer, her hand outstretched and an icy tear stuck to her cheek. Ozymandjas backs away, and then runs to his ship, out of breath. He takes off his suit. “SAL, take me to the others now.” The ship begins moving, and Odysseus’ eyes turn to their normal color.

Ozymandias sits in his ship, watching the stars pass by, until it suddenly stops, and he sees complete blackness in front of him, except for thin circles of light surrounding dark spheres like massive eyes, and countless wreckages of ancient broken ships. ”The Dark Straits…” Ozymandias deploys a small probe towards the wall of intermittent darkness, and then navigates his ship towards a large mostly intact ship… The U.E.S. Andros, O.S.S. Initiative. He docks, and dons a spacesuit, passing through the hallways with his single flashlights. Several intact corpses remain after 2000 years, and he comes to an armory, which contains exo-suits nearly identical in design to his own. “After all this time… It still comes back to haunt me.”

SAL’s voice rings out in the chamber, ‘Sir… The calculations… Well, they’re complete.’ Odysseus awakens at the sound, and his eyes glow red. Ozymandias responds, “Spit it out, SAL. I do not have all day.” ‘Ye-yes. Sir. I matched the stars to possible constellation patterns, and tried to account for aging. And sir, well… It’s most likely located in the Dark Straits…” Ozymandias clenches his fists at that, and his eyes glow a brighter shade of red for a moment. “I see… You double-chec-” SAL interrupts, ‘Of course I double-checked, if you by double-checked you mean cross-referenced with over 15037 different individual diagnostic platforms, you ungrateful bastar-‘ “SAL, calm down.” ‘Yes, sir. I’ll just return to my online poker, unless you need anything else, sir.’ “Actually, SAL, prepare my shuttle.” Ozymandias gets up from the slab, and proceeds to the ship on the landing pad.

SAL’s voice comes in through a small speaker next to Geralt, as a small device pops out of a nearby port. ‘Hello, Geralt. Odysseus has had me give this to you as payment. It contains the location of Rose/Katherine, as well as a direct line to Odysseus’ new suit communicator if you get in trouble, and other accessories. He wishes you the best of luck, and apologizes that he cannot bid you farewell in person. You will find a number of small fighters down a hall if you press a button on the west side of the dome. Take any ship from that hangar. Farewell.’

Odysseus looks up. “SAL, turn off the frequency and power.” ‘Yes, sir. Right away.’ The humming in the facility stops, and the green field dissapears around everyone. Odysseus closes the doors to the central chambers, and inserts the crystalline device into a small port in one of of the computers. ”SAL, correlate the star charts. And make sure that I am not disturbed.” ‘Yes, sir.’ Odysseus pulls out the tarot card of a white tulip, reclines on the slab silently, and turns the card over and over absentmindedly in his hands, as he stares at the ceiling.
