Odysseus opens his eyes and reappears in the facility, laying down on the slab as he always had.

“I… I have no idea.” Odysseus’ crystalline device beeps. “Ok. We can leave now. HiFly, to reroute the power, we need Geralt actually. Geralt, can you hit a frequency of 253.7?”

Odysseus glances at the woman, his eyes continuously flickering red and white like an odd strobe light, and he steps closer to her. “I knew you once… A long time ago. But when? I’ve never seen you… Do you want me to remember… Something?” The woman looks into his eyes, nods silently as tears well up in her eyes, and returns to the pillar, as it closes upon her. Odysseus shakes his head, and wipes away a single tear that rolled down his cheek, holding it up to his eye. “Interesting.”

“We aren’t going anywhere yet.” Odysseus pulls out an odd crystalline device, and begins waving it through the air. “This is literally Eden. Well, semi-literally. And a model. But a model of the Lost System. The Divine Cycle. It’s fascin-” A pillar opens behind Odysseus, and a figure steps out, bearing a passing resemblance to Rose/Katherine, but still with distinct features. Odysseus’ eyes glow red for a moment. The figure stands there silently, staring at him, simply a hologram.

Odysseus’ eyes still flash a white color, and he touches the ground with one hand. In the other, he begins moving his fingers, and a white static builds up and dissipates. “Fascinating. A complicated control interface. Are any of you familiar with the Earth story of Eden? And, on a side note, Universal Resonance?”

“Oh… Now I get it. We’re here… I see… But the stars are wrong! These stars are ancient! These constellations haven’t existed for maybe a billion years? So why are we here?” Odysseus approaches a pillar and glances inside. As he does, a mindbogglingly large tower begins to erupt from the ground, and a gray fog blocks out the stars above. “The Lost System… These are the guardians… This is a hologram. Super-advanced, and old… And we are now standing in a replica of the Librum World…”

Odysseus glances worriedly at the small eyes glancing from small slits in the pillars around them. “Everyone, stop fighting. Now.”

“Jack. This place isn’t real, but I don’t want you hurting each other anymore. Have you still not noticed?” Odysseus looks noticeably worried. “When you see them, don’t react. We are being watched.”

Odysseus draws out his two pistols, cocks them, and points them at both Geralt and Jack’s heads. “You two really are both quite stupid. You haven’t seen it yet, have you?”

Odysseus wakes up, and leans up in the green grass, looking around. “Well, this is new… SAL?” SAL’s voice booms down from above in the sky by an unseen source, ‘Yes, sir?’ “Where are we, SAL?” ‘The facility… Are you alright, sir?’ “I don’t know. You say we’re still in the facility?” ‘Yes, sir.’ “Yep, something is definitely wrong.” Odysseus sees the others, and runs towards them.

Odysseus leads back on the Kubrite slab, resting his head. “The procedure went fairly well, SAL. Jack has been… More or less restored. The power of quantum metaphysical retracting never ceases to amaze me, but now… We will continue with our experiments.” Odysseus inserts small tubes into ports along his arm, and SAL speaks to him, ‘Yes. Quite amazing, sir. Now, if I might insist upon beginning. The next harmonic frequency? 42.168?’ “Yes, SAL. Let’s begin.” The chamber begins to vibrate, and as Odysseus reclines on the slab, his leaning back slows to a crawl. All movement in the building slows, and then stops, before arcs of a purple lightening trace throughout the facility, and are suddenly replaced by a blinding white light. SAL says in an unbelievably slow voice, ‘Sir, full power.’ Everyone then suddenly finds themselves in a new strange place, a green field with a red-purple-blue sky and two small suns above, surrounded by Kubrite pillars.

“I can’t do that.” Odysseus begins to mutter, and drags Jack back to the slab. “You must live. Fate haa ordained it so.”

Odysseus grabs Jack by the neck, his eyes still glowing white. The room continues to pulse and arc, and small cracks seems to appear to hang in the air, fracturing the light. Odysseus speaks in a deep, unnatural voice to Jack, “She shall not be harmed. Your memory and immortality will only continue as long as you are in this place, and this machine is on. The procedure is not complete, and if you kill her, you will die.”
