The Gunslinger, hearing the blast stops and hesitates, considering his next move. “Any way to salvage this…? Dead or alive… Hmm. Dead. Except…” The Gunslinger, having reached the Central Power System, tugs out a few wires. He then continues on, reaching the ship which Apollo had originally used to get aboard the base. He steps into the cockpit.

The soldiers line up and open fire on the pair, hitting Pandora in the knee and fracturing the joint in several places, while hitting Andaluza in the arm. They then, having received new orders, seal the primary and secondary door, and begin to pull away, tearing off the docking tube in the process and opening Pandora and Andaluza up to the vacuum of space as a moderately gaping hole is left in the side of Apollo’s base. The ship then, within the circumference of the force field, fires a torpedo at the central shield generator.

((Also, 41 soldiers were on the base besides the Gunslinger, so right now probably 35 protecting the docking tube. Probably about 50 total on the Gunslinger’s ship now in total. Not even you guys can try to kill them through such a narrow entry, at least at this point in time; the OGA has the defensive upper hand, especially with their own artificial force-gate. In other words, if you go through the tube you will be captured. It’s like in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, with Anakin and Obi on Mustafar. Just don’t try it.))

The OGA soldiers mostly hold their own, and, having brought Faye into the ship, hold Pandora off by routing her in the docking tube. The Gunslinger leaps up, and begins proceeding after Apollo, pulling out both revolvers as he follows him through the darkened hallways. “I didn’t want things to end like this Apollo! I was getting paid double to capture you alive, after all! But it seems like we will have to settle for dead!” The Gunslinger proceeds to bring out two glass bottles, formerly for whiskey, and throws them on the ground. A large swarm of microbots comes out of the shambles of each, and the first, smaller swarm begins eating at the walls. The artificial gravity begins to decrease in Apollo’s facility as a result, and the lights flicker. “Time to die, Apollo! Unless you surrender!” The Gunslinger then walks away from Apollo, proceeding down a nearby access way towards the power core. The second, larger swarm then breaks up, the first part attacking Apollo, getting into his mouth, and the second proceeding for Pandora, stinging her repeatedly.

“My move, eh?” The Gunslinger shouts down the hall. “Kill the first girl! We need more aggressive negotiation!” As he says this, one of his commandos approaches the hologram of Katherine. The feed cuts out momentarily, and a gunshot is heard. When the feed returns, Katherine appears to have a bullet hole in her head. The Gunslinger shouts again down the hall. “Now load the other one up. Things might get messy.” He turns to Apollo, raising an eyebrow expectantly as Faye is loaded into his ship. “Your move now, but I must say, it is a shame. All you have to do is lower the damn shields.”

The Gunslinger tilts his head. “Lower the shields, now. Last chance. Playing with your life is one thing… But with others’? That’s cruel.”

The Gunslinger spins down and shoots Apollo in the leg. “Next bullet will go in one of your colleagues’ heads. Get the picture?”

The Gunslinger pulls out his revolver, pointing it at Apollo’s head. “Have your team lower the shields.”

<i>The Gunslinger waits at the end of the hall for the first volunteer, along with two other soldiers further back. He still has 35 soldiers guarding the entry to the ship, along with the OGA hoplite cloaked outside the shield and his four commandos in the computer area securing Faye. As he waits, he sends a message to Ozymandias regarding his status.</i>

The Gunslinger is unphased by the others’ response. “What I want is simple. You will come down the hall, one at a time, once every hour. We will secure you. If each of you comes willingly, your friends live. If not, my men will kill you, and I will secure you myself. You have one hour to send your first volunteer. I imagine that you will choose wisely. Nobody has to die… Today.”

The spherical object had been sliced in half, but had gotten what it had needed. The Gunslinger, having restrained Faye in her chair and knocked her on conscious, pulled four men in his battalion into the computer room. He then placed a small device on the chair, and it projected a 3-d model of Katherine in the chair, collected by the sphere and completely indistinguishable from the real one except stationary. Using a small pad, the Gunslinger modifies her position to make her look tied up and unconcious. He then taps into the nearby video monitor, and suddenly a live video of him is projected on the monitors throughout the facility. “Hello, Keepers. As you can see here, I have two of your friends, so why don’t we talk things over?” The Gunslinger leans in. “At the first sign of resistance, one will die. Your move.” The Gunslinger pulls out his revolver, waiting.

The OGA hoplite opens full fire on Apollo’s base, bringing the semi-fried shields down to 25%. The Gunslinger’s ship then comes out of cloaking, firing a quantum splicer torpedo at the shields and opening a large enough hole for the Gunslinger’s ship to slip through. The Gunslinger’s ship lands on top of Apollo’s base, and deploys a strange tube device, which fires out, creating a breach in the base’s wall and sealing down upon it. The small battalion proceeds down the tube, deploying a portable wall and creating a strong front. The Gunslinger proceeds throughout the base, the hallways eerily dark from the microbots cutting the lighting power, and proceeds quickly from room to room, until he finds Faye. “Hello. Come with me, if you value your life.” The Gunslinger holds up his revolver to her head, and pulls out restraints.

A small swarm of microbots make it to the primary power conduit, severing the lights and cutting off the automatic doors. The shield energy begins to drop.

The small sphere opens, releasing a swarm of microbots. They separate into sub-swarms, some going into adjacent halls, others into the ventilation shafts, and still more into the cracks in the floor. As some make it to the wiring, they begin to cut through the power systems.

As the OGA ship fires one more blast at Apollo’s shields, a small crack is temporarily formed. A small, spherical device slips through this momentary breach and proceeds to the docking bay doors. It then bumps gently against them repeatedly, as though knocking.
Meanwhile, a similar device is slipping through the streets of Hesperia, following behind Katherine and Malice…
